the most known 5 European languages: "which is the sexiest?"
the other 21 official languages in Europe: Are we a joke to you?
They are confused with the 5 most famous, imagine if they put other languages.
@@byDiegoLLC11 that's what a challenge is about. English and German are both Germanic; Spanish, French and Italian are Romance, thus it's not that hard to choose if they already come from the same groups. Balto-Slavic and Finno-Ugric languages (which are spoken by the other half of Europe) were completely ignored.
@@BenefitCounterbench I understand cause I'm from Spain, but the point of view of someone who is from Korea, they don't even know how those languages sound, and probably they don't even know most of the countries. That was my point.
@@byDiegoLLC11 I get your reasoning, but my points was that it could've been a good "lesson" for Koreans and not just bombard them with the most famous languages all the time. I'd be interested to know what they would think about e.g. Polish, Greek, Finnish, etc.
@@BenefitCounterbench Yeah, Greek is a good one. They should have done, Spanish or French, German, Greek, Polish and Finnish. Or something. Hungarian would just be a bit too far I think... nobody is prepared for Hungarian.
Spanish--French--British--Italian---German Seems to be the only languages in europe they use for stuff like this. There's plenty of languages in europe, so please next time you are doing a video about europe, pick some other languages too😉
Agree. Or at least put "some western europe languages"
Right, it would actually be interesting to see some smaller languages represented sometimes lol
I wonder what they would say about slavic languages....especially croatian since it is my native language.
@Camitchu ah not Western, "Important European Countries's languages", because Portugal isn't there
@@alexandreramos6579 Yeah. Neither is Dutch, Scottish, Welsh, Gaelic, Flemish, Maltese or Catalan. I've always thought Greek was counted as Western European too.
Everyone thinks German sounds really harsh but it's actually kinda soft...it just depends on whether you exaggerate it or actually try to talk properly tho
Or if you talk in a dialect xD
I think for a lot of people their only exposure to German is angry men in World War movies, so it makes sense that they think the language is very harsh and aggressive.
Most of us who were forced to learn German as our third language don't like it though hah
I am Croatian but was born in Germany...and lived there till I was 16.... everyone I know here in Croatia where I live now tells me the same thing. I dont hear the harshness , maybe because I am totally used to it and consider it as my mother tongue like croatian.
I think people still connect the language to Hitler times....he did speak harshly. Even though he wasnt even German xD
@@Niki91-HR I'm English. My Dad was stationed in Germany when I was a pre-teen. I went to an English speaking school, but I didn't find day to day German harsh. It's just when they're not happy, they sound extremely harsh. A calm German sounds alright, not harsh at all. An angry German is extremely intimidating.
This made me so happy, finally people acknowledge that german can be a soft language too
same, i just sat there for a few minutes and smiled
❤❤❤

What about the Eastern European languages like Polish, Ukrainian, Czech, Bulgarian, etc.? This was mostly Western Europe. Still good though.

Right? Haha, it's like we don't exist lol. They seem to think Europe is only consisted of Spain, France, Germany, England & Italy
And the western language way dont put portuguese if they put only western of europe plese put portuguese is the most western of all🤦♂️
@@FranciscoOliveira-kd5vt true!
Francisco Oliveira or Dutch even. I mean I know it could sounds really ugly, but still.
As a German I feel very good now. Usually German is said to be harsh sounding and really unpleasant to the ear, when in reality we have so many poets and a really versatile language.
And almost 250 dialects. Hollywood and history did Germany dirty.
as a native french speaker this really boosted my confidence
French is known to be the sexiest language. At least in the US. I don’t know if its still is but I remember people would go crazy when they hear french speakers.
It's a beautiful language... It feels like it's caressing you... I could listen to French people speak all day
frere ils nous ont déglingué avec leurs imitations a certains moments
I find it really overrated. Italian, Portuguese, Russian and Greek are way more beautiful.
Joatan Silva I believe the same as you, Spanish as well and I like Nordic cause it fells like they are singing while speaking.
Part two with less known European languages!
totaly agree. It would be too long here and I was already sure they would take the most known even tho my laguage was already futured I would love to watch part two with some less know ones like ukraine or romanian (which I think btw are one of the sexiest laguages beside british english)

luis pereira aww is it really that different from Brazilian Portuguese
wow imagine being big-brained, I can't relate 😔
Wow, they're really bad at guessing the languages but it's just like how in the West, they can't tell the difference between Chinese, Japanese or Korean. It really shocked me how they all thought the Italian film was German
Yes exactly!
Asian languages should objectively speaking be easier to distinguish even, your examples of Chinese, Japanese and Korean all belong to different language families.
Many European languages are closely related like Spanish, French and Italian all coming from Latin.
About a year ago I've had barely any interaction with Japanese, Korean or Chinese; I could distinguish them, but hardly. Now, after having had more interaction with both it has become extremely easy; so much so that I can also distinguish Cantonese from Mandarin (but these are also extremely different languages, more so than some of the European language families).
I would rather have trouble with Malaysian, Vietnamese and Indonesian. Personally I can tell the difference between Japanese, Korean and Chinese (both mandarin and kantonese) very easily. I have watched many, many manga, kung fu and similar movies and tv series. Even korean ones. So those are familiar to me. Never heard most of the other asian languages though.
I can distinguish the 3 easely. China has 2 main languages though sometimes they are hard to separate.
Yeah it’s seems crazy to me that some people can’t distinguish Japanese and Chinese when there is not a single resemblance between these two languages ? Same with German and Italian
The girls didn't care for the languages they just wanted to see the love stories lmao
I think the reason why ppl think that German is a harsh language is because most media and movies about Germany are set in Nazi Germany with the characters being soldiers and obviously sounding harsh. I really appreciate that the people reacting were influenced like that too but could still see that German has a soft sound to it too, it really just depend on how you pronounce and accentuate it❤️
so true! war movie german = harsh and ugly. actual german people casually talking = soft and pretty
It has got a lot of clear konsonants but it is actually the intonation of the speach...
As a German i feel honoured i always hear „wow it sounds so aggressive“
Do you know the title of the movie?
Dija C its standing above
Well German stereotypes are still better than Italian ones lol
as an italian i never understood those stereotypes, i studied german at school and to this day its still one of my favorite sounding languages, i forgot almost everything i learned tho haha
It would be fun to see a video with east (slavic) and north (scandinavian) european languages. The ones in this video is the most known languages ofcourse, but seeing their reaction to less known languages could be fun :)
lol, their imitation of italian was hilarious. I didn't know it was percieved from foreigners as an aggressive language. I thought it sounded nice and relaxing. Idk, now I have a language complex.
p.s. I'm italian
No, Italian is one of the most beautiful languages. At least for me as a spaniard
Most of the time I was in Italy, italian were speaking way louder to each other than in any other place ive been to.
@@Vloggen well, I think it also depends on the personality of the people u met and on where they were from. For example, I'm 100% italian, I'm a really introvert person and I don't gesticulate that much. People from the southern regions of Italy are usually much louder and lively, 'cause it's their culture. (not saying it's a bad think tho, I actually really envy their outgoingness lol).
So yeah, I know there's this stereotype that italians are always funny, screaming and enjoying life, but I think that still remains just a stereotype. Everyone is different and idk, we should break this biases.
I talked with some korean friends and they have this stereotype, i don't know where it comes from.
Funny cause for many others (and for me) at least STANDARD italian and not when spoken with strong dialectical inflections, is one of the softest language ever.
Plus, as i wrote in another comment, there is the phenomenon of the "selective sterotyping", so even if they get to hear the soft part of the language they tend to reinforce their idea with the cases where it's a little more aggressive. (like one of my friends took as example people talking at the Rome station like...Really? XD then i spoke a standard formal one and she was like shocked of how soft it was).
P.S: speaking loudly doeans't mean speaking aggressively lol, being aggressive is more in the tone and intention not the decibels ahah.
@@jackieyo6128 well, it's interesting to know that.
As I live in Rome I can confirm that not everyone speaks with a strong accent or loudly, but yeah, I was always aware of the stereotype italian= loud.
However, since I'm quite on the shy/awkward side, it doesn't really match with my personality, but I do admit that some italians can be pretty loud. :)
Still, I didn't think Italian sounded arsh or kinda agressive to non-speakers, therefore I was quite amused by their comment lol (8:19)
ok i have to say this i’m sorry
NOT ALL ITALIANS MOVE THEIR HANDS WHEN THEY SPEAK !!!!
why am i imagining you gesturing wildly while saying this
lmao i do
@@RepentTherefore Because it's written in caps? It's also extremely overdramatized with the prior announcement and apology. It certainly confirms their termperamental nature though...
@@ewoudalliet1734 it's just selective stereotyping.
Italian writing in caps -> temperamental
anyone else -> just stating an opinion clearly.
Now i sound serious but i'm not, i just find it funny how we tend to reinforce our views, like when my american friends came to Italy and asked all my blondish or red haired firends (they aren't surely a majority but they exist way more than people think) if they had irish or scottish roots lol. They were so bombed with the american stereotype of how italians have to mandatory look that their brains refused it, it was funny but kinda sad and pathetic as well. ( this applies to the stereotyping of other countries of course)
@@jackieyo6128 No, it's not... if anyone else were to write in caps (like a full sentence and not just one to five words) I'd also imagine that he'd be yelling (which I didn't do in this case, just the gesturing which isn't "necessarily" a case of being temperamental, in my opinion; when I explain something I also tend to use my hands quite a lot). I really don't think this particular case is one of selective stereotyping, also because there is no indication that this person is Italian, that would be an assumption.
So, I know and agree that selective stereotyping is a thing. But I don't see how it's applicable in this particular case; unless you assumed that person to be Italian.
About how Italians look... I fully agree with you. My girlfriend somewhat looks like a Southern European (Spanish, Portuguese, Italian, Greek). It's in fact very well possible that she has such ancestry (though it must be from very long ago (definitely before Napoleon); Roman times or the Spanish invasion in the 16th century; or mercenaries, Byzantine migrants, Italian or Portuguese traders etc.) I'm from Flanders (near the Netherlands) and well; it's geopolitcally (and historically) known for two things; being the battlefield of Europe and having some of the most prominent ports of Europe, like Bruges and Antwerp. And at school, in my class of 15-18 people, at least 2 other people looked like the "average" person from Southern Italy. Here's the thing though; in my girlfriends family, only her father looks somewhat like her; all her siblings don't. My best friend; pale as hell, brown-blonde hair, freckles and all, skin burned in Athens after being 20 minutes in the sun; his parents are the exact same; yet his brother is just like my girlfriend when it comes to skin tone, hair etc.

It was interesting to see German being called soft for a change, I speak a Norwegian accent that can sound like German to someone who speak neither language, so we kinda share the comments on sounding harsh, as what most folks hear of Norwegian are the folks in Eastern Norway who roll their Rs, they get confused if they travel through Norway, as you could travel 30 minutes and suddenly the dialect changed, East they speak pretty much as Norwegian is written, South they speak what is what you could imagine Danish would sound like if they pronounced all the letters instead of choking on them, Middle is hard to describe but most their dialects are nice to listen to, North they've mostly removed the language and communicate mostly through filthy cusswords while smiling and being friendly, and here in West it's as if we decided to use the second written language in Norway, Nynorsk, but pronounce all the words as if we were speaking with a stereotypical German or French accent. There's plenty of mixes around between them as they kinda gradually fade between each stereotype as you travel, so if ya drive North, going through the middle, you find a point where they're cussing like a sailor but with a really nice dialect. :P
Now I want to know how you sound when you speak 😂 German here btw 🙋🏼♀️😂
To note, Germany has about 250 dialects and most people (around the world) think of a specific Austrian (rural) accent when they think of German language.
