  • Welcome to the M0OGY Radio and Antenna Review channel.
    In this new video I take a look and review the soon to be released President Jerry multi-norm Citizens' Band Radio transceiver.
    This radio is an early production product with serial number 0012.
    NOTE: On the car kit it says, for use with President Jerry/Jerry FCC.
    So based on this, as is common practice with President Electronics, it looks like there will be an American version available soon too!.
    NOTE: I wonder, as with the Randy III, if it is possible to peal back the rubber PTT control to reveal an area to carry out an Export mod?.
    I will look into this in a future video.
    In the second video I will show some On-air testing carried out 10/04/2024.

      Rumour has it that there's an SSB handheld in development 😉

      @@delboyonline A friend of mine owns a Albrecht AE 2290 Handheld CB-Radio with SSB (German Version, 80 CH FM, 40 AM/SSB @ 4Watts FM/SSB, 1 Watt AM).
      But he's not very satisfied, the SSB implementation by Albrecht is cruel.

    The only prices I've seen quoted so far are 1899 NOK (Equivalent to £139) on one website, and €149 (Equivalent to £127) on another site. It will be interesting to see the actual UK price....

      With the car kit compared to the Thunderpole -TX that seems a reasonable price to me, It deserves a reasonable price, then it would be a top seller IMO🙂

    Glad to see it turned up Dave, I am guessing the likes of the TX has hit President hard hence the budget friendly cut down Jerry.

      I would think this is possibly the reason and yes it turned up his morning by the courier Neil, a day later than expected Mate🙂

    When will we see something of this great design topped-up with upper/lower sideband? It's not that complicated. And the units would go flying off the shelves. Are we to nostalgically make do with Albrecht's one and only, never to mention the possibility of a brilliant radio that's so easily within the manufacturer's abilities? Oh well, that's my two cents.

    Which antenna is on the Randy?

  • @Sui778

    Basically a renamed Randy II FCC. Same exact radio with appropriate frequencies for the region.

    • @m0ogy
      @m0ogy  Před 3 měsíci

      It's a reengineered and trimmed down version of the Randy III as shown in the video and a cost saving of around £80.00 (UK) The story on the street is there is going to be a Jerry FCC launched for the American market very shortly. Dave 🙂

      @Sui778 Před 3 měsíci

      @@m0ogy It has the same exact features my Randy II FCC has. They probably decided to rename the Randy II FCC and give it its own designation would be my guess.

    Randy 3 ,In Germany there is only the car kit, no charging cradle and the part is too expensive!

  • @mostlypostie1
    @mostlypostie1 Před 4 měsíci

    A cheaper quality AM/FM handheld is OK, but WHY remove CTCSS? Missing that feature is a real shame. Now, where is the full featured SSB version!???

    • @m0ogy
      @m0ogy  Před 4 měsíci +1

      I guess to make this one competitive that's what was needed , I personally have never used CTCSS on CB Radio, so really is not a problem for me.
