"the mad max universe" what? you cant reference mad max? or road warrior? or thunderdome? is that all you know? fury road? all you have as a baseline? an overhyped and relatively empty movie supported by a few prop vehicles, relying on one stereotypical image... "big truck chase through desert"? pffft. the original movies had something else. will remain timeless. "gotta be fast to catch a snake..." or, "send a meat truck, charlie copped a saucepan to the throat". they took everything from the original movies away and gave us this bland, nutrition free garbage instead. its thunderdome with every bad aspect taken and multiplied, noone really ever liked that movie... we wanted it to die after hollywood destroyed it. for some reason hollywood tried resurrecting its rotting corpse. unable to find enough remains, they assembled what they had, dumped it in a pile and decided that was good enough. hmmmm.... we need desert, derelict vehicles, and a tanker trailer! thats the key ingredient of mad max! oooh, and of course, two "sides"... a "struggle of right over wrong!". if i was max i would be pretty mad too. tip. i worked on the set of fury road. that spiky buggy? try "the cars that ate paris", at least we were allowed some freedoms of expression. some tradition. some throwbacks to the past... none of us liked the story line, we joke about I and II having no storyline, but now theyve taken that concept and just run with it. who needs a storyline as long as THERES A BIG TRUCK CHASE IN A DESERT? YAAAAY!. the set of fury road was fun, thinking we were getting something worth while from it. instead we got insipid crap. watched once, then tossed in the bin to be forgotten about. what a waste of time. none of us can stand the final rendition of our work. and none of us wanted anything to do with this current version other than to KILL IT LIKE THE TOECUTTER WAS. BRUTALLY and JUSTIFIABLY. let it die.
