    AceBeam's "palm thrower" E10 series comes with a choice of 3 LED's. Today I look at the green one, the longest thrower of the three. I show the torch in detail, test the battery/charging, and I've included outside beam shots with a catchy soundtrack for country/bluegrass fans ;-)
    Huge thanks to Richard for supplying the AceBeam for review

      Yes stock seems low I've seen some on eBay, but postage cost puts you off a bit. I like red too, red/green both are nice to use v the normal white. Thanks for stopping in looking forward to your next adventure, weather not ideal though!

    Thanks for review with the beamshots!
    I have the white E10 and like it. Very good throw with a useful spill. I agree with you about that Acebeam should offer an extension tube for use with 26650. With such a wide body it actually had been better in the hand if it was a bit longer. And at the same time the runtime could be almost trippled with the highest capacity 26650.
    It's interesting that a colored light can be brighter than the white.
    I am a bit intrigued to get the green as well.
    Do you see any other reason to get the green, apart from being easier for the eyes? It's obvious the color rendition is pretty much absent, everything looks green. Is there anything you see better with it than with white light?

    • @MrBazReviews
      @MrBazReviews  Před 3 lety

      Hard to say I know hunters like red light, but you get less output. Evidently both red and green are way better for the eyes v blue/white light. And red is meant to be super good for the eyes. As we spend way too many hours staring at screens etc. So i've moved away from cool white lights mostly for myself, I usually go with high CRI - and I kept that JetBeam hunting light I got for review ages ago, as it's one of the few torches that has all 3 built in and decent outputs for green and red (ie good enough to use at longer range). It wasn't a super popular model, but I've come to like using red or green at night - of course you're right about lack of colour - still perhaps it's not needed for night activities?
      Green seems to show more contrast v white light, that's my perception I just found it easier to use for longer periods, but maybe I'm getting old, well not too old ;-D

      I personally prefer neutral or warm tint and always choose it when it's an option. A cool white can be ok, if it's not too much bluish.
      Actually I have recently got into the incandescent area, as a nice complement. While LED is so much superior when it comes to efficiency a quality incandescent light is really good and pleasant for the eyes, and have the superior color rendition. And with recheargeable batteries the economy is not an issue here.
      But my main use of flashlights are LEDs and I will consider to get the green E10!

    • @MrBazReviews
      @MrBazReviews  Před 3 lety +1

      @@patricj951 I go for N/W if I can depends on the LED some are not nice tints the cool ones, and some are not bad. They seem to be using these luminous LED's a lot recently I'll have to find out what their colour temp is, they seem to have a bit less blue and tint shift so I don't mind them even the cool ones.
      I always go with warm light indoors never cool. Sadly some of the street lighting isn't great now either, maybe they need to learn warm lighting is better at night, some of the street lights are truly awful white/blue cast. A lack of basic research on this, it evidently has a big impact on health not just eyes!
      This is quite good if you want a big range torch, bit different. Few tweaks would have been nice, but I liked using it

    • @patricj951
      @patricj951 Před 3 lety +2

      Today I received E10 in green. Very nice for the eyes! And I have to confess that I was very wrong in my supposition when I thought that color rendition is pretty much absent and everything looks green. It definitely does not! That is more correct for my Olight M20 Crimson red light. But with E10 green I clearly see blue, red, orange, yellow, brown and so on. Still not as good as a cool white LED with low CRI but much better than I expected.

      @@patricj951 Interesting I mostly see green but I suppose everyone is different! Red seems to wipe everything out colour, yes it is a nice one to use often use red at night. Evidently red is good for the eyes, I think green is also better than white lights

      With a lux measurement it's used with size of area otherwise it has no meaning if you point it at it one foot away it comes in around 1200 lux open not in a box or anything. ☑️ Honestly, I'd probably prefer green to the sickeningly yellow "neutral white" XHP50 in my Thrunite T1 that I bought about 2 years ago. I bought it because it seemed to have more conveniences and more brightness than my Jetbeam Jet II MK, which I'd bought a year earlier. The T1 is rated at 1,500L, and the Jet II MK only 450L with it's XP-L HI. But the T1 beam is pure flood, no throw, terribly yellow, and it's hard to tell that it's actually brighter on turbo than the Jet II MK, which has a perfectly neutral white beam, with perfect mix of flood and throw.
      I switched back to the Jet II MK after carrying the T1 for awhile. But then it's lanyard broke, and I lost it. So now I'm looking for a replacement that's at least as good as the Jet II MK (and WAY better than the T1)....

    • @MrBazReviews
      @MrBazReviews  Před 3 lety +1

      @@HighlanderNorth1 T1 is too floody for me, I prefer a bit of range. Even the Fenix E16 has quite a lot longer throw, yet lower output. So at the moment I am using that as a pocket carry and general torch, but I believe it's discontinued (perhaps a new version might come out). I hope so as it's one of the best I've used if you are into the warmer tints.
      I know JetBeam have a new compact 18650 coming out soon, not sure about any smaller cell ones.
