  • I'll show you how the change the engine oil and oil filter in your Kubota Zero Turn Mower. This engine oil and oil filter change is specifically for the Kubota Z726X with the Kawasaki FX801V Engine, but it's probably similar for other Kubota Zero Turn Mowers. Grab your tools, and lets get started.

Every time I change the oil I remove that black Kubota logo plate on the back. Makes it super easy to access that area. Great video.

New oil filter, should add oil to filter before installing.

Yeah good call. I always do if the filter is oriented vertical. If it’s horizontal like this one, I usually don’t because all the oil pours out of the filter when you tip it to screw it in. It’s probably worth adding some oil even in the horizontal orientation. Thanks for the tip.

To check the oil level do I need to insert it in or just push it down ?

      Un screw the dipstick...
      wipe it off...
put dipstick back in "without turning it"
pull out dipstick and check the level.

What a terrible place for a drain plug, and its plastic and won't last long. What's with the engenearing on these motors, terrible.
