finally someone actually made a disassembly video for tab s8, Thanks
👍 you're welcome
Thank you for making this video. I needed the physical location of the processor since I wanted to attach a magnetic thermoelectric cooler to the back of the tab and none of the teardown videos on youtube seemed to disclose anything about the processor's location. Great video!!
You are welcome! 👍
Best teardown channel in CZcams
Thats facts
I love how easy the screen is to remove, but God knows how expensive that screen will be. The problem with these tablets is if the screen breaks, they usually cost more to fix than buying a used one on eBay 😭
It's not as easy as it seems from the video, since I do a lot of the heating and prying off camera to save video time and fast forwarding for people :). It requires time and patience if your screen is working and not broken, but if its cracked or broken already, you can pry it off without having to be careful etc.
@@PBKreviews Oh for sure, I should have been more specific. I meant I love that the screen is right there, easy to replace. Instead of having to remove a motherboard, battery, and 25 screws.
the screens for the s8 are around 60-80$ if you can get wholesale prices. but even wholesale pricing on ANY + or Ultra models is 3-600$. That's wholesale price. Those Super AMOLED's 🤣 Main reason i bought a tab s8 with a cracked screen for $250. easy replacement and cheap. But i wouldn't even THINK of getting a cracked s8 ultra lmao
Great!!, just bought one, waiting for delivery. Nice to see how it looks on the inside.
Nice!
This is really helpful!
My Tab S8+ had a little part of the screen detached and just sent it to customer survice for repair.
Seems now just some gaps between the adhesive. I was so worried if there would be any big issues
Battery is always the first thing to go on ALL of my old mobile devices. Companies really need to focus hard on making battery replacements easy.
I'm curious about the inside of Tap S8 Ultra.
the same, but bigger
Same here, betcha there's room for a 3.5mm jack.
@@themadatheist1976 why you need 3,5 when you have usb C?
@@MariusVerbavicius high density USB ports are not suited for cables that tug at the port and is not as durable as 3.5.
By using the USB C port to double as your audio out you decrease it's life span.
Tablets have the room to spare a jack.
@@MariusVerbavicius because the usbc its only one
If it had 2, i wouldnt be complaining
loved it thanks
Great vid.. looking fwd to seeing the tab s8 plus
Thanks! Will consider it if this video gets good views but not sure it will be worth the cost vs the views since not too many people seem interested in it.
Im pretty sure the architecture is the same except for the finger print sensor.
I bought the Galaxy Tab S8 Plus yesterday. Thank you for the disassembly video. 👍
No problem 👍
Don't ever break the screen. Wholesale price on a s8+ screen is $396, so you'd probably be looking at atleast $500 for a screen repair. The regular s8 on the other hand... replacement screens are only $70
so good bro
awesome video
Thanks!
Thank you very much for for make such a excellent video.
Thank you, and you're welcome
Super
I have the S8 Ultra and i'm wondering if the speakers are bigger in any way, housing and what not.
Very good video tutorial!!!
Thanks!
@PBKreviews
You are welcome!!
Thank you so much for the great video tutorials!!!
Hard to believe the battery is easier to remove than in their phones.
Can you go from the back and have easier access to battery?
Most on-point videos ever... ♥️
Can i request a phone disassembly please?😁
In case you wanted to, can you please do a XIAOMI MI 10T 5G please
i have a question is the the camera the same size as the camera of the s7+ ? i wonder if you could exchange them
could you point for me for where Wifi module ? and it can find replacement parts or need to change main board thank you so much
Hello what adeshive you use? Tape or other?
you are really SUPER STAR for me, thx for your hard work, Peter 007GSM :)
The cooling solution is not good enough in this tablet. What about the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chip? Does it have any thermal paste on it or is it just the RAM that has thermal paste on it?
Nice
You're welcome!

👍
Wouldn't happen to know where I can buy a replacement screen for this device?
Was there adhesive *all* the way around the screen? It's hard to see in the video if there were gaps or if the adhesive was rubbed off in some places from the removal process. Mainly wondering what the risk of water ingress is through the gap between the edge of the screen and the aluminum body if I touch the tablet with wet hands. Also, were there any gaskets or any amount of resistance to ingress around the power/volume buttons? Have you disassembled a Tab S7, and if so, was the internal design (particularly the elements I mentioned here) similar?
There was adhesive all the way around, and there were no rubber gaskets around with connectors or the sim tray or anywhere else that I could see. I havent taken apart a tab s7.
@PBKreviews Assuming the designs of the S7/S7+/S8+/S8 Ultra are similar, it sounds like I've been correctly handling my devices then. If my hands are wet, I only touch the screen, never the buttons, ports, SIM tray, or pogo pin contacts. Thanks for confirming my suspicions!
I wish Samsung would make a proper water-resistant tablet (besides the lower‐spec Tab Active line). The last real contender was the Xperia tablet from years ago.
Great breakdown. Concise and informative. You don't happen to know the pinout for that pogo connector, do you? I've been searching for ages and can't seem to find any info.
Thanks. no sorry not sure.
@@PBKreviews Well thanks for the response. I'll be subscribing.
Thx you very much I didn't know how to put my Sim card now it's fit will
Oh unfortunately s8 didn't support wifi Sim I don't know what to do I need wifi in my tap
有沒有Sim卡信號啊?
👍👍👍
😀✌️
Is the same s7screen ?
It's shame that Samsung didn't apply a batter cooling solution to the Tab S8. The Tab S8 will hit 90 ℃ Core Temperature in the first 10 seconds and thermal throttling to 70% of its maximum performance for the rest of the test. All Previous TabS7 and S6 didn't have this issue and were able to stay at 95%+ stability during the 3DMark Extreme stress test.
Every tablet makers should have included a fan like how redmagic did it especially with the amount of space it has i bet they could have included a built in fan considering tablets would replace laptops as they say
@Random Scooter Rider How did you that ?
do you mean that it's not thermal paste between case and motherboard, it s some coper thin but the contact with the case could be better if they put some paste like they did between the chip and copper plate , had the s7plus and was same crap , the tablet overheat in gaming more than 10min and i bought a cooler from black magic and the back stays cool but the core temps was over 70 with cooler because there was no direct contact between the case and motherboard , why they don't make like in phone's, just put that f paste between so the heat pass more effective through the case , i considered to open tbe s7plus but i ended up sell it
👍👍👍👍
👍
Do you plan to do Tab S8 Ultra? Would love to see how reliable it is. And how replaceable the battery is. I have the S8 ultra and the battery live is not as good as my old Tab S7. Around 30% less SOT.
If there is enough interest/views on this video I will consider doing it. Since it's expensive and not sure if that many people would watch it.
@@PBKreviews liked the video and confirmed i would watch it. thanks for the walkthrough on its minions tablet
@@WM-eg4gh 👍
I have a chip in the corner of the glass only that is not affecting the operation in any way shape or form. I see I can get just the glass from eBay. Can just the glass front be replaced without exchanging the entire digitizer system?
I am not 100% sure but if I remember correctly, you can heat up the digitizer glass and pry it off the screen itself. But you would need to disconnect the digitizer flex cable from the back of the screen as well. You would not be able to just replace the glass since it would require special tools and machines which are using in the factory to get it done correctly and aligned etc.
please tell me this samsung s8 tablet is water resistant ?
It is a ip64 water resistant or not
Want to see tab s9 teardown, wondering if there are vapor chamber inside?
Is there any vapour chamber inside this tab s8 or tab s8 5G? 8gen1 might cause a lot of heating inside.. thankss
Hi, no there isn't any vapor chamber inside.
Has anyone happened to identify all the different chips/controllers on the main board? Looks like it has capabilities that are not enabled.
👍
How can you be sure about graphite films material and is not, for example, graphene? Do you have materials tech specs?
because graphene is a single layer of graphite used as a film, where as you would refer to multiple layers forming somewhat of a solid or 3D layer as graphite or 3D graphite. some electronics use a thicker film which basically has multiple layers of graphite which I don't know if this is an accurate representation but is more like folding clay vs paper. The difference is obvious.
@@PBKreviews Ok, I asked for it because I never saw graphene so I don't know if it is so simple to recognize it even if I know what it is technically. If your are able to recognize it I trust you.
Thank you for your confirmation 😊
I have 2 months old s8 tab and i can hear some clicking sound when moving it arround sometiimes. Just like its less addhesive in my right side. Do they use tape or glue? Seems very easy to remove the screen so cant be that hard to reapply some? Warranty yes.. but would they do anything if u hear some clicking sound sometimes.. Dont believe so
It might be the camera assembly rattling. Also it uses double sides adhesive tape, no glue.
@@PBKreviews thx for reply! The click sound will disapear if u hold the tab with left hand. So it does come from the displays right side, because if u hold the right side(pressure) u will hear som click sound. If i remove the display to check will i need new tape? Maybe less tape from factory or something? Some dirt making some tension, stress in the display? :)
Powerful fan for such a small size.
PBKreviews said here's a better look at the battery?
what adhesive would you advise?

I saw a broken one on eBay that wouldn't turn on was wondering how hard it was to fix to see if I could do it, I think I could but I would have to figure out what was wrong with it first
👍
What thermal paste did you use to replace the manufacturer paste?
I took the original off remixed and re applyed it.
Good day, kindly, how did you remove and how did you remix it?
Do you know what the part number is on the sub board that houses the charging port?
What are you using for heat...and how long?
I prefer to use a hair dryer vs heat gun since its not as abrasive. Heat it up so its hot to the touch but not too much that it will be burning hot. You can always apply more heat as needed during the prying process.
Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 SoC(Samsung 4nm fab) is power hungry(6 to 10 Watt). 8+ Gen 1 resolved this issue just by TSMC fabrication. My Tab S8 plus has 8 Gen 1. To reduce strain on battery, Can I use the table with the USB-C power supply? Or Does it ruin the battery by simultaneously charging(at 25W) and discharging(6 to 10Watt for SoC + Dispaly power consumption)?
I would think it should be fine.
This tablet pcb has no gsm hardware. When you remove copper shield did you see lot of components are missing under the shield
Yes I noticed it, so most likely even if anyone flashed the software, it still wouldn't work for cellular service due to missing hardware.
is the tip of the S pen replaceable?
Yes
I used to see people applying liquids when removing adhesive on any teardown video. I thought it was a special adhesive remover liquid, but instead only a regular isopropyl alcohol?
ya probably just 99% isopropyl alcohol. Here is a link for one if you need: www.ifixit.com/Store/Tools/iFixit-Adhesive-Remover/IF145-400?o=4
Sir, If sim is provided we can use Internet on tab 8 ultra rather than using wi-fi.
Yes it would be just like a regular phone with a sim. U can even make phone calls.
How Ironic that the battery is the hardest to replace. It just blows my mind how we went from swappable and easily replaceable batteries, to it being one of the most difficult pieces to repair. WTF?!?! What is up with that?? It's better on the environment if we have replaceable batteries, but companies don't want that because they would rather have you buy more of their products instead.
Where I can find the screen my screen is broken you please send me linkers of which place I can go to buy one but
Not sure where, you would need to check ebay or other similar sites.
Still no luck finding one?
Please take a video tear down samsung galaxy f23
I will look into it
I am very please with my updated tablet, since I had a tab 4. I am really please.
👍
Do you repair phones? How about replacing the V60 battery?
I have a video on taking the V60 apart, and replacement parts for it can be found at mobiledefenders.com
@@PBKreviews yeah there seem to be no T-mobile OEM battery pack nor no charging port availability of parts.
Disassembly Galaxy S8 Ultra ❤️❤️
If I am able to get my hands on one for a decent price, I will consider it.
Where to buy a new screen from
Any luck?
@@dylanbell1396 no it’s just sitting on floor I got a new tablet
Speakers power W?
not sure
Is the display assembly compatible with the s7?
Are we going to ignore that small vibration motor?
lol
they could do a better job.....and make there tab more capable and functional...
👍
Disappointing. Nothing was really done to help spread out the heat generated by the SOC. This thing under any kind of sustained loaf will thermally throttle to hell and back..
The copper heat transfer tape as well as the thermal paste would help transfer the heat to the back aluminum housing, but I would have liked to have seen some graphite or graphene film on the back housing where the copper tape would touch or some thermal paste or pad there as well for better heat transfer.
Wait a Minute, There is No battery!? 🤧
What do you mean 😀
Please Disassemble Samsung Tab S8+
Hi, the teardown of that should be similar to this or the Ultra. If I end up finding one for a good price I will look into taking it apart but for now, the price vs the views it will get is not worth it.
Did you teardown tab s9 yet?
Nope haven't done that one, and as of yet I'm not sure if I will be doing that one or not.
Wow seems complicated to replace the battery 💀
You should turn this teardown videos into ASMR. Without you speaking, just some auxiliary text and the volume of the disconnecting pins and screws turned up to 11
👍
I really hope he doesn't listen to your request.
You don't represent me...
@@ihave7sacks Me, too.
🤦🏻♂️ if i habe a Tab S8 Ultra , i World User IT and not destroy IT 😂😂
haha :)
Not helpful. No one ever seems to go all the way down to the digitizer.
In most cases, prying a working assembly apart would cause damage and render the screen useless or crack the digitizer etc. All that is left in most cases when the digitizer is removable, is to heat it up and gently pry it off the screen. But in most phones for example, the screen and touch digitizer glass are fused together so they are not user replaceable. However on tablets it may be a different story. I didn't personally try to pry it off to see if the digitizer is replaceable by itself, but I believe it would be.
in the end, the tabled is garbage because you can t use a sim for internet and use it for GPS like Uber
yep, you would basically need a hot spot for it to connect to via wifi.
Never disconect the screen without disconecting the battery first like he failed to do in the video
I'm curious about the inside of Tap S8 Ultra.
Depending on how much interest there is for this video, I may consider doing the ultra as well.
