    Excellent video! I have dropped my phone countless times, this time the flexible cable for the screen completely dislodged itself, with your video I reconnected it and my phone is working again! Only thing I found hard was taking the backplate off (used a hairdryer), another video showed using a stanley knife first to create a gap, then I used the little plastic tool to continue. Thanks!

      @PBKreviews  Před 8 měsíci

      Thanks. Yeah usually best to use a suction cup tool or something else to gain some leverage but the reason I don't show or suggest using a knife or anything metal is that it will damage or scratch up the frame.

      @PBKreviews  Před 3 lety +2

      Thank you! Main board is double stacked and you can use isopropyl alcohol but it gets messy sometimes and you dont want it to get in places it shouldn't go so I try not using it. For example I wouldn't want it going through an opening like where the opening for the fingerprint reader is attached to the screen underneath the battery.

    Very nice teardown! Actually helped me with my anxiety from accidentally poking the microphone hole with the sim eject tool lol (from my S21 Ultra), I guess you can't damage neither the microphone itself nor the water resistance from poking into the mic hole, since it's perpendicular to the hole in the frame... anyway, thumbs up for the video!

I've read that some phones have an L-shaped entry to the actual microphone so was hoping this was the case with the S21 so that I couldn't have done any damage. 1. Do I have to remove the battery and antenna (using tri-wing)/as well to replace the LCD digitizer?
    2. Would you be able to recommend any glue.
    3. How much temperature and time to heat the frame to remove the LCD screen.
    A quick reply will be highly appreciated.

    • @PBKreviews
      @PBKreviews  Před rokem

      Is it just the screen by itself or is it a screen with frame combo? If its just the screen, you can try (even though it might be difficult) to heat up just the screen and pry it off the frame being careful to disconnect the flex cable on the bottom while lifting it up so it doesn't tear. Then apply new adhesive and re apply the new screen seating it perfectly so the cable connects when your pressing down on the screen to adhere it to the frame since it doesn't have wiggle room for it to be pulled out to attach to the screen prior to seating it on the frame. But if you disassemble the phone as shown in the video, would be easier but more work. If its a screen frame combo, then you just do whats shown in the video and move all your parts from one frame to the other. You can find the adhesive made for this phone as well as other parts on this website: www.mobiledefenders.com/samsung-repair-parts/galaxy-s-series/galaxy-s21-5g.html? As for the heat, you can use a hair dryer and evenly apply heat until its hot to the touch, and can continue to add more heat as needed while your trying to pry off the front/back. Front will be more difficult than the back.
