I bought my stepson the Rawlings Icon and he hit 13 HR's as a Freshman. He only had 6 in his life, prior to this season.

@@Soy_verde13 will do!! He’s also a starting pitcher/ Catcher. I’m trying to get him to convert fully to pitching, but he doesn’t want to give up hitting… Can’t say I blame him… He worked really hard on his hitting last offseason and it paid off.

I have the green one, got it for 60% of the price, I wouldn’t trade that bat for anything. 1000% my favorite bat ever. Only time I have rung my hands is outside off the end
I’d much rather take performance over feel everyone gotta swing wood eventually. There are hotter bats that feel just as good too like the icon and select Pwr

My son & I watch lots of D2 here in the Midwest. We've never seen the Meta. On a side note, we did see the Icon last weekend (D2).
What was surprising, however? We watched a JUCO game this weekend & noticed 2 Metas. With that said, we also saw 2 absolute nukes in the JUCO game -- one was The Goods & the other was the Slugger Select power.
He's in Highschool and the hardest hit balls I see are with the Meta (line drives & homeruns). The bigger/badder bats like The Goods are super popular, but what I tend to see in Highschool are lots of balls that just don't fly off The Goods (like the barrel is getting bullied & the player isn't strong enough).
The biggest difference are the players. You've got grown men playing in D1/D2. Also, the BBBros are grown men. Makes a huge difference.

I’ve had my 34in Meta for 5 months now and my baseball season has just started. It’s still in pristine condition and I love the sweet spot, certainly more of a contact than power bat I’ve noticed still lots of power tho

To get access to these parks providing a wonderful home run fence experience, would i just contact them in advance to see if they allow it?
You should compare the LS attack to these new composite LS bats, maybe OG bbcor composite bats like the Z1000 are something LS needs to return to.
I just got one of the green Meta’s during Slugger’s bat day (50% off) for my Freshman son. He has a friend that has the black Meta and he used it in a tournament and loved it. It’s the bat he wanted. He’s been using Cat 8’s for USSSA and an old BBCOR Solo I think. We’ve loved the Cat bats, but we know a few people who have had durability issues with their new Cat X’s. It was between the Cat X and the Meta for him, and when the 50% off sale came up I asked if he wanted the Meta and he instantly said yes. Watching this I’m thinking I should’ve gotten him the Atlas. He’s wanted a multi piece bat so bad though. I think even though you can prove different, he thinks a multi piece bat is better. Hopefully this one will serve him well.

I think that they have durability issues since mine broke or started to chip quite fast

So, what I've seen in freshman ball, the metas are springy for just getting it out of the infield, ball seems to jump off for weaker hitters. With alloy, they're infield shots, with the metas, jumps just over the infield. It's weird.

just wanted to ask since there’s some pretty knowledgeable people in this comment section as a freshman (15) in high school, 6’3 145lbs, in game off a pitcher throwing 75 is 92mph exit velo and 375ft hit in air (with cat 9 connect 33 30) about average or would you say it’s in the upper or lower end for my age and size? thank you for anyone who responds i appreciate

I think another important comment to be made about light balance composite bats yes obviously they have a limited amount of use and it takes forever to heat them up that’s why they’re not use the college baseball level. Now, there are some exceptions to this rule like Rhett Wiseman when he was at Vanderbilt swung the CF 6 and swung it with Grace being a part of that big three with Dansby Swanson and Xander whel In 2015 for vandy. And then 2013 UCLA all swung the Mako. I think the NCAA a couple years later immediately banned the orange mako not because of its power but because of its ability to get the job done as a hitter when it comes to making a sac fly, base hit. Overly control bat I try to tell this to the kids on my travel team i coach that doesn’t mean the bat has extreme power

Yeah there’s only one guy in college baseball today who swings the 2023 meta green that being Luke Vinson of MTSU. Now if that being said kid is a every day starter in bats .315 has only hit one home run this year but it’s a walk off home run. Not a great bad especially at the college level but I think everyone wants to about 300 so go ahead have fun with it son.

If anything, I really dislike the bat's name. I would avoid it on that alone. The testing you guys put it through just shows it's not worth the price. Great effort as always, thanks for what you do.
The only variation that truly deserved it was the 2020 model.
Meta performs MUCH better with lower bat speeds. I tested the BBCOR of a meta and a quatro and they both have the same issue, they don't scale well after the bbcor test speeds, which is basically set to junior high speeds.
In my opinion, the best contact hitter bat in bbcor is the Maxum 360 and the Vandal 2. Close third would be the Stringking Metal 2, only because it isn't heavy, well-rounded, and 160 bucks new. Bonesaber and axe avenge hybrid are great if you like the different knob
Does it perform better with lower bat speed in usssa or is that just a bbcor thing because I have a drop 8 meta and I have good bat speeds and it performs well
@@bengalsfan5702 from what I can tell, it's simply a bbcor thing. The drop 5 meta has the same barrel as the bbcor without the restrictor ring, but the test is different. In drop 8 and 10, the barrel is different than drop 5 and 3 so there will be a maximum optimal collision speed lower than the bbcor version

The green meta is the best bat of all time because when I hit in my tournament last week I asked my friend if I could use his bat because my bat is very old and dosent have no pop and just to let u know the last tournament I got on base 0 times but when I used the green meta I only got out twice, and I hit my first kid pitch home run with it so it’s better than every bat in the universe

I umpired a tournament this weekend and saw a kid use a blue meta that sounded really weird. It almost sounded like a plastic bat hitting a wiffle ball
