She appeared in film maker rajiv menon's Tamil movie minsaru kanavu 1997 dubbed in Hindi and other regional languages also, she portrayed excellently as aspiring nun who steal hearts of two young men, as film maker rajiv menon says there is an air of impatience around her and a don't bullshit me attitude she also represents the joie de vivre of the 90's decade.

She had an amazing on screen presence and also very subtle in her 90s performances. Where most other actresses were overacting the hell out of it Kajol stood out as a natural in commercial space. At that time It was commercial and art cinema. Films like DDLJ Gupt KKHH Dushman (almost all of them in that decade) she was mind blowing. Noone was even close to her. Her Eyes, Her smile. Her Gaze Her Luscious Locks. Her unibrow, Her natural acting style. Everything about her was Unique and astonishing. I was bewitched by her screen presence in minsara kanavu. She spoke straight to your heart. BUT post My name is Khan/We are Family she has lost her mojo and of course we were introduced to plethora of talents in the likes of Tabu. Konkona. Shefali. Tilottama and list goes on. Most of her reason films, we see a lot of her or Anjali from K3G in them she acts in evey single frame. Evey close up. Actors like Tabu, and even Rani aged very well with their acting style where Sadly kajol got stuck with her loud acting style/off screen persona when acting. A tad delusional and think of herself as the best of the best. Perhaps because she hasn't been watching others performances on screen to see how it has all changed. ❤
Damn true. I used to be a die hard fan of her and you can really see her growth as an actor from Bazigar to MNIK but after her 5 years break post We Are Family she has lost that charm of her. So much over the top in Tribhanga , Helicopter Eela , Dilwale and The Trial now though good in Salaam Venky and The Lust Stories 2. And yes she is not the best now as you uttered out but still this delusion of her. Hopefully we get the OG Kajol back in Do Patti and Sarjameen.

Have you watched Lust Stories 2 - Kajol is quite good in that. She has a deep presence that can communicate a range of emotions, even subtle ones, even now.

Please give her her due and do such an interview where you only talk about her various movies and her acting. Be fair, ma'am. That's all we ask. Love your interviews and the woman power you represent. But, just give Aishwarya Rai-Bachchan her due. And please - If she can do interviews for Niranjan Iyengar and Jitesh Pillai when there are no movies releasing, I am sure she will do one for you!!
needless to mention Kajra re, Dhoom 2.. And this is all despite ZERO support from Khans.. ONLY Aishwarya could have survived that and still be relevant (PS2) 27 years since her debut.
Whenever I see all these senior actresses given the opportunity they much deserve, I also wonder why is Aishwarya Rai Bachan is not given enough due to her work. Even on an international level, I would have liked to see her shine more.
I'm not sure if it is her own choice or if people are intimidated or avoiding her.

Vaise when did The Trial become a hit ? Hardly anyone have watched it ! And she was poor as an actor in this one , I didn’t get that vibe of being a lawyer from her in even a single scene. Liked her in Lust Stories 2 though specially that climax scene of her. And this again proved when she tries out of her comfort zone - she is really good but when she really doesn’t want to try - she is bad as an actor. Saying this I like her as an actor but sometimes she is really over the top and I can’t like her offscreen now - so loud and so annoying always. I used to be such a die hard fan of her but like someone uttered out in comments she has lost her mojo with time. Hopefully she is good in Do Patti and Sarjamin !
