It's so funny how everyone made Kratos jokes the first time Kong used a blade on a chain, and then as the monsterverse went on he just got more and more kratos-ier. now he's got the beard, the axe, the badassery and his own mini kong to call "BOY!"

Audiences from the early days of film would have lost their minds seeing this movie! They could not comprehend such a thing being artificially created for entertainment. Not to mention that movies back then were relatively simple, and their themes were very simple. The black & white movie Nosferatu is from the 1920s, it's a silent film, and back then some people thought it was real. Let's not forget that before the advent of the television, people even thought the original War of the Worlds drama on the radio was real. Many people legitimately thought that we were being invaded by aliens; and that was just from the radio! We're so spoiled with modern technology, because we constantly see technology advance incrementally at a steady pace, but comparing this movie to something from back then is such a massive technological leap, that people would not react the way we do.

Kong, unable to open his hand because Weaver was in there, moved his arm in a circular motion in order to wrap the Skullcrawler's tongue around it. He then yanked it out, which also pulled out its internal organs. I love this movie.

I love the way Kong utilizes tools and weapons, such as turning the tree into a club and using the propeller like a flail and boxing glove. Throughout both KSI and GvK, they really show the level of intelligence Kong has though his expressions and his use of tools. Goes to show you there is more to intelligence than talking.
And the details on everything, even on kongs hand, a lot of little scratch marks, and the fingerprints. And Kong was just a kid and he kills a lot of skull crawlers for his family’s honor

One of the things I really appreciate about the movie is that it's not just another King Kong remake. It's trying to be its own thing while still retaining aspects of what made Kong...well, Kong. And I love that they made the climax the T-Rex fight, except with a different kind of lizard-like creature rather than an actual T-Rex.

Compared to the Vastrosaurus Rex from Peter Jackson's King Kong, Skullcrawlers had more rows of serrated teeth than the V-Rex, enough to bleed Kong's palms, which is why Kong couldn't finish Ramarak off like this.
This was my most favorite scene in the entire movie. It is beautifully animated and so very impressive in to many different ways. The affection Kong shows is amazing.

Crazy how Suko is suppose to be bigger than Kong was in this movie. He really is a genetic freak to be this strong. Suko barely has the same muscle mass as him.
I liked the details on the Skullcrawlers. They have nudges on their tails to have better hold whenever they used it as their "feets" or third "hand", and those nudges are shaped like fins to be more aerodynamic. They even have false eyes like those on the Orcas to make themselves looked more lifeless and intimidating. Overall, it really felt like they evolved naturally that way over the years unlike other movie monsters whose physical appearance felt unnatural
What I really adore is the leg use. In a lot of two-legged characters the legs are either used arms (picking shit up + dragging themselves) or legs (walking), but in these guys they seem to switch in-between!
The fact the skull crawler knew kong had a weakness for her shows you how intelligent they are. The big one went straight for her. “If I’m gonna go down I’m gonna try to hurt you in ways you will never forgive yourself”

God I loved this fight. It shows the kind of fighter Kong is and how he can think in a fight. I just watched Godzilla: KotM and I'm so pumped for G-zilla vs Kong. Can you picture an older Kong using a battleship to attack Godzilla with? I so can't wait a year for that fight.
After rewatching this, I've gained more respect for Kong. He'll definitely stand a chance against The King of the Monsters, but we'll only know what truly happens next year.
@That One Who knows. They say Kong will have grown since Skull Island, but really who knows. They may even do Godzilla Vs. Kong differently by introducing a "New threat" where the two must combine efforts to defeat that threat as a final battle. Sadly, many movies to that. You know, I just realized how similar Kong and Kratos are. Yeah, everyone noticed that the relationship between him and Suko is similar to Kratos and Atreus. On top of that, both have similar build, beard, and axe. But another thing that not a lot of people noticed is that in this final fight, young Kong was using a chain with a propeller stuck at the end of it. It's Kong's Blade of Chaos. It's just so cool how everything is lined up even if it's just a coincidence.
This scene is great for highlighting how intelligent & strong hearted Kong is. Making weapons from his environment and caring for the humans to fight harder when they are endangered. These are some of the reasons why he can challenge Godzilla.
This is one of the most brutal kaiju deaths, ramarak was alive to see it for a split second. Like imagine having your insides ripped out and your enemy holding them.

Something about this film just hits so different, love Kong in GXK but man this scene and movie are so cool
This was my most favorite scene in the entire movie. It is beautifully animated and so very impressive in to many different ways. The affection Kong shows is amazing.

It kind of reminds me of the scene from the original godzilla versus King Kong where kong is buried under a ton of boulders and godzilla is about to kill him when he suddenly gets struck by lightning and becomes super strong enough to break free. (Toho's kong can absorb electricity and grow stronger from it.)

I liked the details on the Skullcrawlers. They have nudges on their tails to have better hold whenever they used it as their "feets" or third "hand", and those nudges are shaped like fins to be more aerodynamic. They even have false eyes like those on the Orcas to make themselves looked more lifeless and intimidating. Overall, it really felt like they evolved naturally that way over the years unlike other movie monsters whose physical appearance felt unnatural

I do like the sense of realism with them. Plus, they look really fucking cool

What I really adore is the leg use. In a lot of two-legged characters the legs are either used arms (picking shit up + dragging themselves) or legs (walking), but in these guys they seem to switch in-between!

Kong differently by introducing a "New threat" where the two must combine efforts to defeat that threat as a final battle. Sadly, many movies to that. I love the little detail of the music being softer and muffled underwater, only to return to normal once above water. it's great for immersion
Godzilla and Kong will have an epic face off but I guess they'll fight another Kaiju together to protect the earth, then Godzilla will be the president of kaijus while kong will be chief on his own secret island. :)

You know, I just realized how similar Kong and Kratos are. Yeah, everyone noticed that the relationship between him and Suko is similar to Kratos and Atreus. On top of that, both have similar build, beard, and axe. But another thing that not a lot of people noticed is that in this final fight, young Kong was using a chain with a propeller stuck at the end of it. It's Kong's Blade of Chaos. It's just so cool how everything is lined up even if it's just a coincidence.

This scene is great for highlighting how intelligent & strong hearted Kong is. Making weapons from his environment and caring for the humans to fight harder when they are endangered. These are some of the reasons why he can challenge Godzilla.
