I'm 68 years old and I started playing chess again 4 years ago after a break of 40 years. Even if playing chess online seem a little bit strange to me and I've only reached a rating of 1300, I love the way you present and explan. I've watched all of them, many of them 3 to 5 times to grasp the concepts fairly solidly. I'm 73 and hadn't played a game in 35 years, and that just over beer with a buddy-- amateur action for sure. I played a few games starting a week ago, and went from beginner 200 level to 800 in about 10 games, blundering all the way, but with much better board vision thanks to the Speedrun series. When I was younger, I never had a clue on what to do when I entered the middle game. Listening to your thoughts has seriously improved my tactics and strategies.

21:40 I think the reason behind the resignation lies in the fact that after Ke4, the opponent saw h6, effectively trapping the knight. If white tries to save the knight by going Nf3, it takes away the only square for the king after Bf5+. In that case Bf5+ would be Bf5#, meaning checkmate
I have watched from the start. My rating is 1400, I am really looking forward to you reaching that rating aswell with your speedrun account. I never had a chess coach. The closest thing was an "advisor" to our HS chess club which had a mere handful of students.
He was a teacher and supposedly a chess master but we never had any structured chess lessons from him. And he never gave any lectures on the game. He never gave us any chess puzzles. So we were pretty much on our own.

I have watched every episode. When a new video comes out I usually watch it within a day of when it is uploaded. There’s nothing I love more when I get home from work at night than kicking back with a sparkling water (I am sober) and watching this awesome series. I am about a 1300 player, and all of these videos have been both incredibly fun and instructive. Thanks Eric!!

I’ve watched every single episode some twice and I get excited when I get out of bed I open CZcams and there it is 😂. Feeling a much better player for the tutorials as I am reading my opponent so well now. Thanks Eric from South Wales uk

I stumbled across this series around game 20, then went back and watched them all in sequence until I caught up. Nice job so far!

Every single episode I believe... Some of them I might have watched with half an eye, and then re-watched again later... Watching you play and teach Eric, almost fixes my bad conscience from not playing enough myself!
Take care Eric, we don't want to see you be stressed and burned out again ❤

I've watched all the episodes in the past few weeks, thank you for all the lessons. One of my favorite openings when I get the chance is the Evans Gambit. So I picked up a few tips in your last episode.

First time viewer of this series, long time viewer overall. Thank you for all of your chess content, I’m very excited to binge the rest of this series. Gotham brought me to chess but Eric helped me stick around

Hello Eric, I have watched all of your videos, many of them several times. I enjoy your easy style and thoughtful consideration of every move. I do not expect to be a chess master, but I enjoy playing, and have learned so much about the strength of basic development and considering the strategy of the opponent. Great lessons. Thanks so much.

Originally I was suggested to watch episode 16 but when I saw the episode number I went back to the first episode and have watched every episode since, even subscribed to your channel. So this series has worked at least once for your channel!

You are the best teacher: you speak clearly and do not rush, providing just the right amount of information. Based on these episodes I have changed my entire approach to rapid chess (still struggling around 450 though.) I watched all the episodes, some twice, or more.
