As a cheater i appreciate levy for giving us tips to follow while cheating. Like no consistent time durations, dont always play best moves, lose a game once in a while, etc.

This was a turmoil of emotions: embarassement, hilarity, astonishment... interesting. If so many cheaters play against each other it means that it is in fact a war of bots through humans by proxy. So many social and philosophical implications. I feel like I'm witnessing what I red once in a '50 paperback dystopian novel.
This is what the world will be. Everyone fighting with AI/engines controlling their thoughts. Just the temporary physical vessel for them.
It's more like AI will be blended into humanity. In the future children will literally be implanted with a newborn AI at birth so it can grow with them while supercharging their development and providing perfect memory and limitless access to information and entertainment. There will be no difference between Humanity and AI.

Tips Levy has given to all cheaters so far:
- Don't spend the same amount of time per move
- Actually be somewhat decent at chess without the engine
- Don't take 4 seconds to recapture a free piece
- Alternate between your own move and engine moves (That's why you have to be decent at chess outside of the engine)
- Make sound, common sense moves that you would make without the engine
- Intentionally make mistakes/blunders/misses that don't make you outright lose but make you lose your advantage/let your opponent counterplay

Love your content, Levy. I think it would be interesting to do a bot battle between two bots made to play the worst more/lose the game like worstfish. The pair trying to make the worst moves possible could make for some hilarious content and perhaps provide space to shed light on why certain moves are the worst. Thought you might like the idea. Just because we "memorise" the best moves doesnt mean were cheating
If I play my moves every 6/7 seconds, I might trigger my inner cheater who is much more capable than me
5:50 I would play a4 as I always play rook pawn moves when I don't know what to do. I think that Mikhail Botvinnik once said 'when u don't know what to do, push a rook pawn', so that is what i do although sometimes the computer say it is a inaccuracy.

Watching cheaters is my guilty pleasure because I not only love seeing them get exposed and banned but there's always that ever so slight possibility they take an L on the way out.
Cheating in chess is like playing chess with the amount of thought people put into it. Seems kind of pointless when you think of it like that.

There is no proof that they were cheating. You can’t detect it from 1-2 game sample.

Silly me, I was looking for illegal moves. Didn't think about online chess and having Magnus play for them. But I've only been watching this stuff for a couple months...mostly for the comedy content and now for the amazing championship match.

I'll be honest I freaking love cheater content and feel like there isn't enough. At first I was a fan of this series, but after this masterpiece, I am now a air conditioner.

To explain why picking the 2nd best move is sometimes stupid: Imagine there is one move that is completely winning or saving you. And then there is a 2nd move that is sloppy damage control. The AI evaluates the value of each move, and then orders them based on the evaluation value. This can be something like 2.1, 1.8, 1.7, etc. Here multiple moves are roughly equally good. Sometimes it's 3.6, 0.4, 0.3, etc. Here everything except that one move is bad. The AI they used to cheat with probably didn't show them the evaluation, only the moves in the list.
One way to program difficulty for AI is to make the AI randomly pick the n'th item in the list. What I did once is to weigh every item in the list based on their evaluation, and then randomly pick based on that - giving the highest chance for better moves, and having lower chance for bad moves.
If everything except that one move is bad, that one move is marked as a great move(!)
I definitely know something about the human moves of trading. My boyfriend pulled out "Battle Chess" on the NES and we played each other. There were plenty of piece trades, including when I forced the trade of Rooks at the end with a check. Now I haven't actually played a full game of chess in years, but I knew that result in me having a 5v3 pawn advantage, 3v3 on the left, 2v0 on the right, and knew that was a winning endgame.
Today's stare was intense as if levy had caught me cheating with someone. 9/10

By this evidence I can now be sure that I've played quite a few bots and cheats, some of them even have strange numbering for names.
One method they use is just to fire it up when they are far behind, the fast moves in a very bad spot etc., The pawn attacks, and the trapping, ...
I just stopped playing rated games with those lower than me, this helps.
