Acrylic Do’s & Don’ts- YES
While I'm not into woodworking at all, I wanted to let you know this was a great video. I really enjoyed how you explained your design decisions and discussed what you'd do differently for future iterations. Great job!
This is a great build. I like that you were able to use acrylic for the whole enclosure and leave the edges so they distribute the muted light. The LED light strips are easy to work with and since you were wrapping it inside, you were able to make the box with the corners in the right place for the bend. That was pretty clever, too. If you do decide to make a video dedicated to working with acrylic, I think it would be very well received. I've had limited use with it and have had chipping issues, but this video helped me with that for future projects. And of course there's the problem with static buildup that attracts every piece of dust in the room, so I'd like to hear your ideas concerning that. Keep up the good work, sir!
Wow. This is really helpful, ESPECIALLY with putting things in the mirror, and giving a visual for how different distances affect depth. Thank you sir!
you are absolutely right about acrylic getting scratched super easy, i use clear tinting film for the opposite side of acrylic, its way easier to clean and doesnt get scratched and easy to replace.
Thanks for the tutorial. Inspired me to turn a coffee table into a tv lift and wrap it in infinity mirrors. Thanks for the great work!!!
Great tutorial!! I like the way you frosted the ends. Inspiration for my next project. Thanks!!!
Amazing as usual! Love the look of the infinity mirror ideas!
I make infinity mirrors myself. Yours came out looking awesome! God bless.
Oh I found all the links for materials! Thank you
Love your channel, got excited to see you made a infinity mirror. Just because you’re a great teacher
Ahh... Forsted flavour! Sounds delicious
Dope, waiting for the sequel
Very detailed explanation in terms a 4 year old could understand
This is how detailed all diy videos should be
And i love creative people, lot of ideas and imagination to fulfill 😊
Great work dude.Excellent YT channel.
Regarding the edging detail-I think that 'frosting' brightens the outside relative to the inside so makes the inside 'appear' less bright so tinting or blackening the edge just stops that dazzle by absorbing the otherwise lost'stray light around the edge, increasing the contrast and thus making inside 'appear' brighter,as would e.g. a darkened room..
Awesome!
Love your explanation!
Will hopefully try somethis similar soon.
We had those back in the 70s 😎 very cool. I just learned about the different type of acrylic. ie cast vs extruded but would like to know more about acrylics.
That's funny I was thinking it had sort of a 70's vibe as well.
Really beautiful and interesting. Very good explanation. Congratulations !
That was awesome I am going to try it sometime. Thank you for the lesson
Looks dope, thanks for the explanation! Keep it up! Looking forward to your next idea.
EXCELLENT PROFESSIONAL PRESENTATION
Great job, I'll surely try👍😀
Yes could you please make a video on working with acrylic, I started working with acrylics. Thank you. Love you videos
Your explanation is too cool 👌
Nice job, 😎 thinking of doing this on a PC case with a glass front somehow 😁
Great video, very impressive, professional and informative! Please do follow up those ideas you mentioned about future projects!
that is gorgeous!!!!! 😍♾🤩
NICE JOB!!!! 👍
I stumbled upon this video, just wanted to say you sound like a great dude :) enjoyed the video, thanks
do you think this type acrylic installation could be used forba scooter deck? possibly creating some type of design inside to reinforce for weight and stress?
Thank you so much for sharing !!! ... This was very helpful ... !!!
When people leave a thumbs down,👎🏼, why don’t they leave feedback as well?
Well, I for one have never left this maker a thumbs down. But when I do leave a thumbs down for a CZcamsr, I rarely leave a comment. Somehow I feel that rubbing salt in the wound is not needed. But I understand what you mean; I guess it could be productive if done well. ;-)
Great Job. Let me share another simple trick. If you have access to a Cricut vinyl cutter you can create a frosted glass name, logo or whatever you like and apply it to the back glass mirror. This will scatter the light and brightly illuminate the logo. If your mirror is acrylic use the frosted glass vinyl sold at Wal-Mart... last time I checked it is where the Contact paper is sold in housewares. If you want to go a bit fancier ON GLASS, you can acid etch the logo using the vinyl cut out as a mask. Armour etch acid is the brand I have. Thanks for the video!
Thts really cool...thx for posting
Did u end up making the other versions of infinity mirrors? I eagerly scrolled thru ur videos hoping that I’d come across them. This is a project I’ve wanted to tackle after I seen one my Aunt had when I was kid. I have all the materials & knowledge but had the same thought process, WHICH VERSION SHOULD I MAKE? I’ve seen lots of idea’s & love to see how people add different methods for unique effects! Thank u for sharing all the exact details, taking the time to film, edit & post this diy. Hope u add the other versions u mentioned…pretty please!?😊
You know we want to know more about working with acrylic! ;)
Another awesome project!
I've seen these before and wondered how difficult it would be to replicate.
With your motivation/instruction, I going to have to try it for myself.
Thanks you!
Thanks for taking the time to watch! I love how many different ways you could construct something like this.
How about a pedestrian alley with trees in both sides making like a tunnel, i'm prety sure it will look awesome.
Great video btw, thank you.
you made Infinity Mirror Out Of Acrylic very cool bro...👍
Those of you who have ever made a box you know what I'm talking about. XD very informative and so cool.
"glass does come in a frosted flavor" somehow I knew you're gonna say that 😂
What are the dimmensions of the frame and the mirrors? This was an awesome diy btw!
Nice job mate. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks!!
Sweeeet.....I love infinity mirrors! The box in the center gives this a calming vibe. I can’t explain it... I am just weird.
Ha! We're all a little weird.
Tip-top work as ever, fella!
Get some glass etching cream for the edges. It what they use to etch beer mugs and decorative mirrors.
hey I've always wondered that do we need to put the Two way reflective sheet on the entire surface... or can we put it just under the LED strips? Like if the LED strip is on the circumference then we can put the 2 way reflective sheet on just the circumference of the glass plate? Will that work?
Thank you for the amazing video. Would it be possible to create a version for selfies? What kind of modification I have to do so you can take a selfie in this mirror. Thank you again!
Hi There! Love this. You make this look SO easy. :)
Can you share the name of the tape and lights? Also where did you get the one way mirror from? I usually use plexi glass and lay down one of those films which people use for car windows.
You can also use a wood blade if you turn the blade around. So it runs backwards. Need to take small bits.
Very cool video!! Love your content.
How would it look like, if you were to hang it on the cealing 🔝 with something that looks like a stove and turn it on
So cool!
Blue tape the acrylic down the tablesaw cut line-reduces chips immensely.
You can think of pasting the pp film over acrylic to prevent scratches
Amazing video - thx so much
That's great bro...inspire me
Excellent. Thanks.👍🇬🇧
Thanks for an amazing view
Awesome bro thanks very much, watching from Ecuador ✌
I’ve always wanted a Dan Armstrong acrylic guitar. Never considered the scratch factor.
Question by buying a Blade how many teeth do you recommend that should be on the blade.
such a good video!
Very cool thanks for the video
This was an awesome video. Do you have anymore videos dealing with acrylic or even adding the scenery to the infinity mirror?
Great job
I worked for an aquarium manufacturing company in the 1970’s. We built an infinity aquarium. The fish would repeat themselves to infinity. The downside was that the water had to be crystal clear… dirty water just got dirtier with each repeti on.
Im mailing aquarium and you have given me a very bright idea thanks a lot
Have you ever tried using letters in the middle of the mirror? Will it look good too?
Have you ever tried laser etching the mirror or the 2 way mirror? I was wondering how that would turn out.
What would happen if you put the LEDs on the outside of the frosted acrylic. You would still have the same effect just muted a bit I'm thinking. Like to see one if you've tried that.
Firstly congratulations for the channel and excellent work. What name on the red ribbon do you use? I didn't find it in Brazil
Good stuff ..was thinking about how you stress it scratches very easily. Could one coat acrylic with something? Like a polyurethane substance , because like you said it cheap and not hard to find. Great video keep em coming!
Thanks for sharing
Good work
Al Jacobs Excellent video but using the parts list and Amazon address I do not get to any part?? 🙃
What’s the quality difference between 3 way glass and 2 way acrylic?
Amazing..... Salam dari Indonesia 🙏👍👍👍
Thank you!
[Top neon sign]Custom led infinity illusion mirror background wall, factory price, super cheap.
Nice & Cool 👍
awesome!
Can you make a grid of these i would need a grid 7x8 and how would you connect all of them??
I like your video
Possibilities are infinite..... 😂😂😂
Love the pause after the sentence hahaha
❤
Nice and amzing 😍😍😍
I made one too 😅 but not cool as this one 😍😋
Have you ever tried to cut half inch acrylic? I just got a bunch of it. I can cut it with a hand saw if I have 10 minutes for every 12 inches of cut.
highkey youll want a router for that, best way ive found
awesome man thanks
Which glass i should use for top merro plz
why some mirrors don't have the infinity effect when looked at from the front?
well done sir
subscribed
Did you ever end up creating one with a scene in it? I'm curious to see!
Sure. No problem. Just add another material that I want to work with. So how much are you donating to my bigger house so I can store all this stuff?
It does give me ideas on lights I want to make with LEDs.
I'll send a check...
Honestly man I could see you really benefiting from acrylics and lights in your projects.
@@InspireWoodcraft So many ideas... now once I get rid of this cold I got in California....
One of these days we will meet face to face.
Great job! I'm your new follower and subscriber... 😊
You should try a infinity table
Yeah I actually have a few unique ideas for a table project. I like the table idea more almost because the effect sells even more when something is set down on top of it.
so cool. do you sell them?
Al Jacobs. Again an excellent video BUT the parts list does not get me anywhere. I called Amazon help and they don't understand it either?? IDEAS????
❣
Yes yes yes aing te ngarti bahasa maneh....
Frosted flavor? That is what I am talking about bro! I know it's only one sub but I hope it helps!🇺🇸🤘🇺🇸
