  • In this episode see me unbox a Haul Master 3-pt Quick Hitch (Harbor Freight), connect up to my Branson 2515h compact tractor, and provide a preliminary review/first impression. I learn a few things along the way and hopefully provide some insights that might help you too. Hope you enjoy this video and be sure to subscribe to TWC Projects.

Since people always ask in the comments for links to equipment I review and install, I'll just go ahead and add this one to the description now -- "3-Point Quick Hitch - 27-3/16 In." www.harborfreight.com/3-point...

The next thing I'm going to get for my tractor is a quick hitch. I'm gonna spend the extra money for the Speeco E hitch because it doesn't require bushings. I will have to remove the top hook to hook it up to my box blade, but I think I will be able to get it to work. It should hopefully be easier than just hooking strait to the three point.

Good plan. That's probably what I should have done too, but I don't expect to have a lot of 3pt implements, so figured buying a couple sets of bushings wouldn't be a big deal. Found them for $30/pr on Amazon, and it looked like they sold them in bulk too.
Thanks for your comments and for watching.

Others have had to get bushing extensions.

Yes. That's exactly what I eventually ended up doing. Thanks for the advise and for watching.

Maybe Pat’s hitch is a better option. Just ordered my 2515h today. Also ordered rear remote with hydraulic top link. I have to measure my three point implements before I buy whichever hitching adapter. How are you liking your tractor?

Thanks for sharing. Yes, lots of good comments out there about Pat's quick connects. I looked at them but didn't feel like they would be as convenient; I'd still have to get off tractor and connect top pin. I may be wrong about that, but chose to go with a 3 point quick connect.
Still loving my Branson. Hope you're able to get yours in soon. It's a great in between tractor; not too big, but not too small either. Thanks again for your comments/suggestion. Much appreciated. And thanks for watching.

Yea, hearin good and bad but, it’s like every else…it falls into that everyone’s got one category!! For the normal home owner, it’ll do what you want. Price is right…typically some little mods to do but nothing total fail!

Agreed. The 3pt quick hitch is great, but I wasn't yet thinking about a quick hitch when I bought the ballast box. The manufacturer of that designed something that would work for most compact and sub-compact tractor owners, at a reasonable price. If I were just using the ballast box with my standard 3pt, I only would have needed $8 worth of cat 0-1 adapter bushings. In fact it worked still without the bushings, but I didn't want dirt or small stones collecting in the receivers. And once I decided to get a quick hitch, I knew I'd have to get quick hitch style extending bushings. I was just hoping the top link would work as is. There are extending adapters for those too, as shown in the manual for not compactable implements, but I was trying not to dump more money in. I'll probably end up getting one though, so I don't have to jump off the tractor to hook up; one of the benefits of quick hitch.
