France is now officially one of my favorite characters.
I love France so much. 💖
Jihyun Kim he's such a sweetheart
I'm glad more people see how France is truly just a sweetheart and a kind person than a flirt
If you didn't know why he 'flirted' with different women, it was because he's trying to cheer others up when they feel upset or insecure. So he decides to complement them which in others eyes can be seen as 'flirting'.
"Those who call themselves 'ugly' don't realize that someone out there thinks they're the most beautiful person in their eyes." -France
He is my favorite too ;)
*Mentions how much France misses her*
I ain't gonna cry..
*Mentions Davie*
OH GOD- *cries*
*hands you tissue* I FEEL YOU--those two episodes just pull on your heart. Thanks for watching!
That's an interesting way for Hetalia to explore the idea of a legend living on. Country identity is very much built on heroes, legends, the greats...(think Founding Fathers) and its cool how this episode illustrates this passing of stories and histories in such a meta way.
Definitely! Big historical figures do do so much to shape culture. The Founding Fathers are so essential in American culture--particularly Washington, who's my fave founding father. Thanks for watching and leaving such a thoughtful comment, my bro!
I personally prefer Though You Depart I Shall Remain as it really touches many of the deeper parts of being a Nation. Francis' comparison of a Nation to a ship just feels so true to the nature of their relationship with both the government and the people of each Incarnation's respective country. The fact that France is the one to speak about this is also very fitting as he is a country known for its long and rich history in philosophy and has been through much turmoil especially in the 18th and 19th centuries, the centuries of Enlightenment and nationalism. The human part of the episode is quite relatable as the young man at first wishes he too could be immortal but his girlfriend/wife explains to him just how painful and lonely such a life would be. The casual interaction between a Nation and one of his citizens makes the Incarnations seem more realistic and caring of their people.
I completely understand why that's your favorite--it's up in my top three episodes. The nation as a ship is a beautiful analogy and probably is my favorite speech in the whole series. My love of Joan of Arc and fascination with reincarnation just tips the scale in A Bientot Until We Meet Again's favor, personally. Thanks for watching and leaving a thoughtful comment!
Honestly, I agree with you. Season 5 was the best of Hetalia and had some of its strongest episodes.
Ugh, yesssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssss. It's these particular episodes that I wish were more plentiful in Hetalia. There's lots of little things that I wish would just generally be talked about more.
Like, how the nations get along with the people who live on their lands. Their day-to-day lives just living as "people". I'd love just a straightforward "day in the life of (insert nation here, say maybe America or England or perhaps even Japan since Himaruya actually lives there)" where you just watch them do mundane things like shopping for groceries and interacting with passerby's and just, more little things that define what it feels like to live in the ever-changing world as an immortal being.
We see them interact with one another, like the segments with Japan and America and the recent comic strips with America visiting England or even the GerIta moments where they eat at restaurants and stroll around the streets, but they rarely are shown with actual human people like how France is in this episode and the other one.
It's a shame because they're supposed to be these amazing immortal personifications of landmasses that are influenced by the people who live there but we never really see them actually do that except for little comedic moments (like Italy's flirting with women and the "bosses" they all work for that show up every now and then).
I completely agree! These episodes are definitely the most interesting, but we get so few of them. Thanks for watching and leaving such a great comment!
Of course! Your videos are very thought-provoking and full of really good insight on what makes something good.
I obviously already love Hetalia (coughdespiteitsmanyflawscough) but you bring a very smart examination to it which makes me love it (and your videos) even more.
I need to watch your other non-Hetalia related videos eventually when I have the time, as I have a feeling they are just as good. Keep being amazingly thorough and honest, the community could use more content-creating people like you.
Oh my gosh, this is one of the most wonderful comments I've ever gotten! Thank you so, so much! I will do my best!
I mean it makes sense that they purposly try to not get too attched to people. Like yeah they will always have each other around because even when a country falls it doesn't disappear. Example Grandpa Rome and Prussia they are more like on retirement but they can still hang out with the other countries when ever they want and give them advice. But with normal people like America learned the hard way with Davie they will be gone before they even know it. Its a really sad exsistance when you let your self get close to some one only for them to be gone forever within a few short years for you. So they really only interact with their bosses because well... They are their boss... And each other who all feel the same way on the matter and know how they all feel and they can let them selves be close to because they aren't as fragile as humans.
Yeah, let's hope that we see more nation-human dynamic in the future season
Wow, I never expected anyone to make an insightful analysis of a Hetalia episode haha. I'd have to agree with your choice.
I'd love an analysis of your favorite episode from Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood. There are plenty to choose from, but my personal favorite is episode 54 "Beyond the inferno", because of how it handles character development and the relationship between Roy and Riza. It never fails to tear me up.
Thank you! I love FMA, and love FMA:B. Beyond the Inferno is a great episode--seeing more of Roy and Riza's background and Riza fooling Envy with the first name thing is the absolute BEST trick I've ever seen someone play on someone else in an anime. It's so satisfying and awesome! I will definitely consider it because that's a fantastic episode, and FMA:B is a fantastic show!
Fangirls usually get sad about the revolutionary war episode but this was the episode that touched me. It made me wanna know more about Joan and it gave off an emotional feel. I agree that this is the best episode.
The Revolutionary War episode is good, but I wish it was longer and showed more of England and America's relationship evolving. This episode provides more detail into how France really felt about Joan, which just pulls at the heartstrings. I'm glad you agree and thank you for watching!
Oh, but the Hetalia fandom *is* largely dormant. It awakes whenever something really cool happens, like your review. :)
Well then, I'm glad I gave it a reason to wake up, even if just for a little bit! c: Thanks for watching!
Knock
Knock
Out of all the hetalia characters, France seems to be the only one to openly express the depth of being an immortal personification of a nation. (Not that the others wouldn't contemplate life, Francey pants is just the one we notably see do it)
I think to see that 2 our of the 3 episodes you seem to love include France. France I think deserves more appreciation. He’s the country of love. I feel that when he looks back on hard times he finds a way to find positivity and love behind it.
And on a comedic note, in the comic France at one point goes “Oh Joan of Arc? I forgot about her”
You got me--I do love France! He also tends to get the episodes that deal with countries interacting with humans which just gives him way more depth than some other countries. And oh my god, of course he said that at some point in the comic lol. Oh, France! Thanks for watching!
YOU ACCENT WHEN YOU SPEAK FRENCH IS SO CUTE **
I LOVE THIS !!!
Thank you so much! I took French for a few years, and I'm not great but I decided to give it my best.
What I love about this episode is that it adapts more of France’s gentleman charm than his usual perverted personality. He was so sincere and genuine with Lisa, my heart flipped. Even though he’s suffered so much, he’s still able to smile for his people.
Exactly! It really gives him much more depth than the series usually shows us. Thanks for watching!
LadyIneia
Yeah, no problem!
I love this. Hetalia can get deep and we all need to be ready for it and I love it when it does. Episode like this Hetalia is weirdly beautiful. I think my favorite episode might be the one that does focus on immortality. Mainly cus France says something in that episode along the lines of something like 'as long as his people keep taking care of (as long as the people of France keep taking care of France) he can last forever (the country of France can last forever)
That's episode 5 of season 5, Though I May Depart, You Shall Remain. That one is one of my faves too--he compares himself to a ship that people fix so you can use it forever. I love Joan, so A Bientot is a little better to me, but they are both great episodes.
I love this episode as well! I really like how it was a happy ending, since Davie made me cry a bit at the end 😃😃😃
It's great, isn't it? I cried with Davie too! Thanks for watching!
Im glad that someone made a video about Hetalia RECENTLY , that is really interesting, and has many views. I really like it when people dont let fandoms die. Love the vid!
Yeah! I made my Hetalia videos thinking no one would watch them since the fandom didn't seem active to me, but it turns out it just needed something to flock to and my videos did just the trick! Thanks for watching!
I GOT HIT WITH THE FEELS HARD
Davie ends on such a depressing note and the you get "VE~ ORE NO ROKETO"
This episode is pretty much why france is my fave
you should have ended this video with "a bientôt, until we meet again"
You are totally right. I read this comment a few hours ago and it's been haunting me because, _man_ what a missed opportunity.
I like all of the immortality based episodes for different reasons
I never really payed close attention to that episode but you're right it's really sweet!
Amazing review well done!
Thank you! I'm glad you liked it!
It should be more episodes like this... I was crying during it... I WAS CRYING AT HETALIA
Watching the video, bearing the episode explained out, going "oh I remember that", until the end, because I forgot america was in it. I now want to rewatch the series. _oh boy.._
Haha, it is fun to rewatch every once and a while! Thanks for watching!
*america thinks France is a total playboy*
Me: *Intense laughing*
Honestly I would love to see an episode about the other nations falling in love with important figures in history like how Russia apparently had a thing for Anastasia and England with Queen Elizabeth, it's quite amazing looking at the lore of their history also I always thought Chibitaila was the best mini story in hetaila because of the fact yeah it was comedic but in the end it ended up with a heartbroken Chibitaila.
MineDixie I don’t recall anything in canon saying Russia liked Anastasia or England liking queen Elizabeth? I feel like those are two very common fandom ideas.
The American revolution episode(s), A bientot, and Davie are one of the few episodes in Hetalia that made me wanna cry. I guess this is why there are some really angsty fics in the fandom huh
I swear, I cry every time. If there’s one thing i’ve Learned, it’s that if it’s a season 5 France-centric episode, it’s gonna be sad.
Honestly! Season 5 hits you hard with France feelings. (Thanks for watching!)
IKRRRRRR
Why didn't I see this video sooner? It's almost a year old, wow. I remember watching your earlier Hetalia video a while back and I loved it! It's refreshing to see the fandom in such a mature way, haha. I first watched Hetalia in 2013-ish, so it already feels nostalgic to me! I always find myself coming back to Hetalia, it has such a special place in my heart.
This episode certainly is a great one. I love how even someone who knows nothing about the history behind the story can get to know it in a personal way, due to how it's told, and can therefore pick on the subtle signs the episode gives. I thought that Lisa being an reincarnation of Jeanne was quite obvious, but that's probably just my history nerd side coming through.
I would love to see you make more Hetalia content like this!
Oh wow! I'm surprised it wasn't recommended to you or something since you watched my first one, but I'm glad you enjoyed this video too!! Thank you for watching!
It was pretty obvious to me that Lisa was Joan of Arc from the start too (I'm a big history buff too! c:), but I tried to analyze it in a way that kept the impact of the build-up to the moment if you hadn't seen the episode yet.
I may return to Hetalia at some point, but my next video will probably be on My Hero Academia I think... I have thought about doing a video on shows vs their fandoms, like how the fandom influenced your experience with a show and its characters versus just watching the show itself without any external influences, and I would definitely include Hetalia as an example if I made that video.
I went to Mont St Michele when I was 19 and I didn't get to meet France wtf
This is such a good episode tho ❤️
I'm sure he just barely missed you! (I would love to visit some day... although I'm nearly twenty-one now.) It is a lovely episode. Thank you for watching!
Please talk about Princess Jellyfish and Kimi ni Todoke. Loved the video.
Thank you so much! I love, love Princess Jellyfish and think Kimi ni Todoke is great too! I will definitely consider making a video about one or both of them in the future!
This has been my favourite episode since I first watched it. I mean I agree completely with your reasons and to be honest I think there should be more hetalia episodes dealing with historical figures or humans in general just so we can learn more about the nation's and humans interactions.
Me too! I'd love an episode with Prussia and Frederick the Great or America and George Washington or something--there's so much to explore there! Thanks for watching!
LadyIneia Exactly! After all many of the historic people and what they've done are what define a country I think.
One of my favorite episodes of Hetalia is the Davie episode. ;-;; it was too painful
Davie is so good! You're right that it's too painful, which is why I tend to prefer A bientôt! Until We Meet Again. Thanks for watching!
Great analysis! Hetalia is a wonderful show, I'm glad to see the fandom is still going!
Thanks! I'm glad you enjoyed it!
God having been one of those pubescent 13 year olds infatuated with the show, being more mature now, it’s really great seeing someone who wasn’t part of that group seeing the good that’s really in it and not following a crowd blindly,
It really is the best episode. Thanks for sharing the hetalia love! Best regards from an ex fan girl who still adores the series.
Haha, I'm glad to spread the Hetalia love! The fandom was wild but it doesn't really detract from the wonderful world of Hetalia! Thanks for watching!
I've started watching Hetalia again after leaving the fandom in 2017. Upon rewatching the show, I fell in love with it all over, and now understand more of the history and humor. Not only that but I also started to love France more than I did in my pre to mid teens. I never hated him but I was more of an England girl when it came to the two of them lol. But now I notice France has an emotional vulnerability and love not many of the other nations express to regular humans. Doing this while still being flirtatious, and weirdly himself is the best I can describe. The way he remembers and cares for all his people, shown in "Though I may depart, You shall remain." with the young man's Grandpa. As well as the whole of this episode, with just how happy he was to see Joan living a happy life as her reincarnation Lisa. Shown with the way he approached her like he was seeing someone precious to him for the first time in forever. He's just a very sweet character, and I'm glad the show had a chance to show that aspect of him with those episodes.
I got recommended this video while listening to some OSTs/character songs from the show, and this was a beautiful analysis of the episode. Great work!
Yes i love this episode too! I love the way it showed us what the country thought of the historical events they've gone through!
Exactly! I wish we got more episodes like this one. Thanks for watching!
This episode made me love France...
I loved France before this, but after I loved him a lot more. Thanks for watching!
I like this episode too its so beautiful
As usual, this video is superb!
Thank you!
My absolute favorite episode. And you would know it's Jeanne d'Arc if you read the comics, because the creator has shown her before. There's an incredibly brief mention in one of the early episodes where you see her and Napoleon. Her hair is blonder in that, but it's still the same design. Maybe it's because I have a really serious fondness for the historical person and the idea of France actually caring about her that I paid closer attention and make more out of the brief instances than are actually present. I dunno. I'm just glad this story exists and it makes me happy.
Awesome! I'm glad it's other people's favorite too! She is shown earlier in the anime, but her design is quite different because of the style change in the later seasons. I have read some of the webcomics, but not all of them--I didn't know she showed up. Thanks for watching and commenting!
Who is everyone's favorite character? Mine is a three way tie between Hungary, Canada and Knights Templar
I like america and russia best, tbh 😝
I'm tied between America and England
Phrasing
Sweden
Poland
My favorite episode is...Episode 11 of World Twinkle, Davie. There isn't much talking, but it's very sad...
I need to watch this....but I dunno how...
If you can make an account on Funimation's website, you can watch it there. Here's the link: www.funimation.com/shows/hetalia/the-beautiful-world-episode-15/
LadyIneia thanks!
Don’t know if it’s safe
czcams.com/play/PLmgKfPlUtV1BYtDq3WYm_LwVjJwjZEIO5.html here’s a link to the season,,,i think this still works
Awesome video! (As awesome as Prussia) you deserve way more subscribers
Thank you so much! (I can only dream to be as awesome as him!)
I almost cried just listening to that
Oh, I'm sorry! It is an emotional episode. Thanks for sticking it out and watching, though!
Thanks for making it! I had no idea about this episode. I'm not caught up to hetalia, unfortunately >.
Im still in this frigging fandom since 9 years damn me
*WAIT SO LISA IS THE REINCARNATION OF JOAN OF ARC*
best episodes both parts of the Beautifal world ep 2&3 Gakuen Hetalia and the horror movie episodes. I wish England talked about Marry Shelly and Bram Stoker and America talking about Edgar Allen Poe tbh. hopefully an ep about that in the future
That would be super cool--I did feel America and England didn't have enough horror in that episode. Gakuen Hetalia was super fun too!
I thought the fandom was dormant too, but since I,ve dipped my toe back in it, I feel like it
Yeah! I think it likes to resurface now and then! Thanks for watching!
This fandom will NEVER die
There should be more episodes like this
This episode absolutely killed me. I cried.
This video was so insightful and a joy to watch. Your words ring true and personally it hits on every note why I love these sort of episodes and the show. Amazing work.
You're so sweet--thank you very much! I'm glad you enjoyed it!
And I'm watching this episode again
Oh please talk about Monthly Girls' Nozaki kun! It's one of my favorite anime ever (I loved it so much I even read the manga!)
Oh my gosh, I love that show! I will definitely think about it--I started reading the manga too because I loved so much.
I especially find the strange and loveable characters interesting for all the reasons of how subtly and not subtly they break gender stereotypes, which provides humor, yet not in the way of "We're laughing at them for being different" but "We're laughing because these kids are all over the place bless them"
Hetalia is my favorite anime, and not just because it was my first anime. The humor is top tier and the art style is beautiful. I love the characters and the interactions so much.
One of my fav episodes in Hetalia~ 😍😍😍 This is why France is my fave character~ ^^
Can there be a England-Elizabeth I or US-Amelia?
If only Hima could, but I bet he got his hand full already. And there are so much more that could be like this, Country-Human Relation. Whether Plutonic, Romantic, or something else but it must be the strongest tie that the county must have.
We've been blessed by your videos again.
Haha, thanks so much!
That one arc of episodes where America left Britain made me cry
i think that the halloween episode from beautiful world is the best because of how the characters are dressed, how some get drunk wearing slave costumes and the fact that vietnam and thailand are in it
There should be a Netherlands version of A Bientot. I mean, every country has these heroes and deserve mention, bit I think it’d mean so much to the character Netherlands, who is as of this moment very plain and difficult to categorize, showing a tad bit of emotion could be very good for him and his bond with the fandom.
this is the episode that makes me forget that each episode is only 5 minutes long OP and ED songs included. It felt like a genuinely well paced episode, with everything you'd ever want in a show like Hetalia. It's heartwarming in a sense.
I'd love to see you analyze Shirobako's best episode!
Oh what a great suggestion! I adore Shirobako, such a funny but sweet and optimistic show! I will definitely consider making a best episode for that! (Thanks for watching and commenting!)
I can only agree.
It's one of my favourite Episodes :3
Thank you! c:
My favorite episode is Buon San Valentino
That is a great episode--Germany is so cute in that one!
They cut out a bunch of important scenes from the manga tho,,
SAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAME
AND THE EPISODE THAT MADE ME FALL IN LOVE WITH FRANCE BUT THATS NOT IMPORTANT-
I also like the episode much! It's my favourite!
YAY You're back!
YAY! I am! Thanks for sticking around! c:
LadyIneia I just naturally gravitate to quality fam (btw I saw your MAL and it confirmed you had the best taste rating hxh a 10 👌🙏
Will we get a video on it or MHA anytime soon?
Princess Jellyfish is incredible, and I’d love to see it get some more attention!
That show is amazing--I will definitely considering making a video on it!
this is one of those episodes that you can show to your class
That's true--it's one of the more historically informative ones to be sure. Thanks for watching!
No problem ;D i love your videos
I will have to say that this episode was and still is my favorite. It kinda helped ease the blow with the Davie episode.
Hard agree. Davie is so good, but it's so emotional to watch. This one is also emotional, but sweeter!
Any episode with France is a good one
You make great videos~~~
Thank you!
it’s a shame you aren’t making videos anymore, i like your reviews
I like this video, absolutely nice and beautiful episode
Thanks so much! It is a really great episode!
I was so confused when you were saying Joan of Arc, it took me way too long to realize you were speaking of Jeanne d'Arc, because I've only ever heard of her from her French name.
This might sound weird but your voice is just so soothing to listen to (sorry if that sounded creepy)
*Me*- “Hetalia? Dormant?” *scoffs* “If!”
My favorite hetalia chapter is the one where America's going through his closet and thinks back on the Revolution, it's super early in the series so I think it's one of the first times I really got that angst bomb and anyway it fucked me up, fun times 😂
That is a good one. America and England's relationship is the first that really develops in the show--super angsty and good. Though, I have a soft spot for France, which helped make A Bientot my favorite.
I love this episode as well! It made me cry a bit...but I like it nevertheless!
Yeah, it's a tearjerker, but a good tearjerker! Thanks for watching!
Haha i can assure you the hetalia fandom is not dormant yet!
Also i have to agree with all your points. This is one of my favorite episodes. I generally like the darker ( kinda ) episode's but with a humours touch.
I am discovering that! I had no idea it was still pretty active. I also like the sort of darker episodes too, which is why this one is my fave. Thanks for watching!
Well actually i agree with your choice, Hetalia has much more depth than everyone gives it credit for :3
Thanks! I'm glad you enjoyed it.
SO COOL :D
Thanks! c:
I wish there were more episodes about this issue...
I’m crying
Cool
May 30th...happy birthday to meeeee 😥
IM NOT CRYING, YOURE CRYING
I THINK WE ARE ALL CRYING (thanks for watching! c:)
LadyIneia WHY DOES FRANCE RECEIVE PAIN HES A SWEETPEA
Me encanto enserio
Buon San Valentino is one of my favorite
That's a great one too! Another favorite of mine.
I think you should analyze Yuri on Ice even though it's on its first episode because it has some (almost strange how touching it is) emotional depth. It goes through the emotions of an older sport player and a old pro in a good way. Of course it would be a pleasure if you could analyze how the show portrays their gay relationship which is one of the best I seen in anime. I really love your videos and kept up the good job!!
Ohhh that so gives me an idea for a video--I adored Yuri on Ice and actually tried to write a script about how it "made history" for a video but I really wasn't happy with it. But now, with some time away from it, I'd love to talk about how learning about how Yuri and Victor met (at that drunken party!) completely changes how you look at their relationship and makes their romance all the sweeter. Thanks so much for commenting and watching! I will try to make a Yuri on Ice video!
No one ever mentions Belarus' yandere arc lol
But like in all of Hetalia I feel like we never really see all of the trauma that the counties go through and they don’t really touch on all of the darker themes, such as The Holocaust *coughs* and the bombing of Pearl Harbor and Nagasaki and Hiroshima between Japan and America. And they seemed to take light of religious battles which I guess I can understand because why would you put such themes like that in a show that people enjoy
I'm curious but can you see if the April Fool's episode has some sort if hidden meaning? I'm wondering if you could see something in it or that episode was just pure crack.
Huh. Off the top of my head, I don't remember thinking it was anything more than crack, but you never know! I will rewatch it and investigate.
I watched this and was like, Davie... 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭
hi my favorite episode is the one where all the girl nations are hanging out
Hiya! That is a great episode too! _I Was Overwhelmed by Heroines_ is one of the funniest episodes certainly, I love all the girl nation designs. Thanks for watching!
LadyIneia ikr and Estonia is just so shocked and god is there too
ah byen-toe
Please more analysis!
I hope to! I've been busy with schoolwork unfortunately.
LadyIneia
Of course deal with yout business at first :) I hope your work went well (?) and you are still motivated to lead your Channel with the same high effort your audience appriciates. ^^
