That sounded incredible right at the beginning of the video. Sounds like some decent reverb in that room. And your attack is perfect. Hey hey was great

My Left Hand CEO-7 turned 1 yo this August. A guitar SO GOOD, I sold my Gibson SJ-200. Says it all. If anyone out there is considering it, please don't wait. Pick this up. Great Review and well done bringing out its tone and sound!!!!

I am lefthanded, but I play right. My CEO-7 was picked up on the Las day of August (or September 1,it was a Thursday) of last year. I too, enjoy it tremendously! It does have a wonderful neck.

Hey I love your channel. Showing some very fine guitars. I’ve had a 36 L-00 and now have a 1930 L-1. These are fantastic guitars. Anyone who appreciates early 30s Martins and Gibsons will like what you’re doing. Martin still comes up to the plate again. Sounds vintage right now. Keep ‘em coming. Glad you mentioned Mark up here in Canada. He knows what he’s doing 👍 Fine playing by the way.

@@robmiller3464 I'll try Rob! In the case of the CEO-7 I wanted to keep with fingerstyle as it's ideal approach for this model. Listen carefully and watch the tuning sections as I generally use my nails with are very similar into tone to a pick.
I disagree that a thumb pick or plectrum gives a better clarity to the guitar tone, natural fingernails are superior. Organic mediums offer the best balance of harmonic and fundamental.

@NickBrightwell yes, I agree. I have a CEO 7 and I love it and no pick. In 8 years I will be in my 70s

The V-Neck is SO GOOD, amazing. Made me sell the Gibson. That good.

Many bluegrassers and alt/acoustic musicians would disagree re rosewood vs mahogany for lead & single string fill work - rosewood's rich overtones can muddy a track or live mix and overshadow other instruments in the same tonal range, while the "drier", more focused range of mahogany (i.e. fewer overtones) lets it stand out in a mix without leaking into other instruments' territory.
Of course, it depends on the individual instruments in play - but over 39 years as a bluegrass guitarist (and guitar/amp tech) I've found this to be generally true.
However, I'll admit my particular CEO-7 (#1891) sits right in the middle, proving that when it comes to guitar construction/materials/tone, everything you know and read is wrong - sometimes - usually.

I’m considering buying one of these. I always love to hear you play, Nick! I started to write “I enjoy hearing you pick, Nick” but that sounded like I enjoyed hearing you eat fried chicken outdoors, and that wasn’t quite what I meant.haha I hope I can find a CEO7 that sounds as as good as that one does.

Thanks, sir! We've had 3 CEO-7s in and they have all been similar and outstanding! The most recent has a slightly higher action setup and it really sings with fingerpicking. Thanks for the kind words, happy guitar hunting!!

Hi, do you have a recommendation for a good pic up that might go well with a ceo 7? Always enjoy your stuff cheers.

I use K&K western pickups for my guitars, a transducer pickup captures a great unedited sound. Sound reinforcement is the other part of the equation. I use small speaker amplification (8inch) like a Fishman Loudbox mini, or AER Domino
