Thank you so much for your support! Enjoy :)
Great guitar solo, and unexpectedly, one of the best kazoo solos of all time.
Thank you Rolf! The kazoo solo is the best ☺ Wait for the next video!
Gives it a real Mills Brothers vibe.
Lol thanks Rolf. I was wondering what the giant funnel looking thing she was playing was. Never seen one before.
Agreed, 100%!

dude absolutely shredded that guitar solo! a BEAST
Thanks Jacob! Check out his channel, he plays different styles! :)

I played piano in an old timey senior citizens band. We always played 'Please Don't Talk About Me". Our drummer was 81 years old, with double hearing aids! It was a hoot! I'm glad to hear y'all doing it! A good old ragtime, flapper tune...
One of the actual good things about youtube is the ability to reach people who otherwise would never hear you at all. I was sitting here doing my morning practice session, learning tunes and practicing with backing tracks, and your vid came on the feed, and I played along with pleasure. Everything was well done. great ensemble sound, nice relaxed feel, a voice that suits the material well, and just real good musicianship all around. I'll be looking for more.
Thank you so much for your nice comment! I agree with you : CZcams is a wonderful tool to learn and discover new things every day! I am glad our song was a good one for you 🙂

Excellent! I enjoyed it so much! As a musician I also extend deep respect to you all for doing such great period music. So fun!!
Thanks for mentioning that, some of the music takes me back to my families basement, old 78s, favorite everytime I hear it is "St. Louie Blues" I thinkit ezs Bessie Smith but not sure, thanks again...
I am not a musician but I fully agree!!
Great touch of the Django guitar .. Brillant👍👍👏👏
The bass player has such a pleasant sound.
Thank you Frisbieinstein! I do my best 😇
Thank you! What a wonderful life. Brings back memories to this 85 year old. I wish everyone learned to play an instrument starting in early grade school.
3 beautiful and talented women and an amazing guitarist playing music that never grows old. CZcams might as well stop right there.
Thank you Michael! More videos coming soon :)
You just don’t see enough tenor banjos these days, I don’t know why. So thanks.
EDIT: And you see even fewer full-on concert style kazoos. What a great band!
Absolutely Russ, I agree with you, the next video I will post this week will be more even. 😇Thank you for your nice comment and enjoy our music! :) sanlyon.bandcamp.com/album/songs-for-bessie
Tenor banjos are hugely popular in Irish traditional music!
I think it's plectrum banjo and not a tenor banjo -- its scale length looks a bit too long for a tenor banjo. Plus it appears to have 22 frets, just like a 5-string banjo. In any case, great playing!
@@josephcooper4757Yes, it is a plectrum banjo. Basically a tenor banjo with a longer neck and lighter strings for greater range. True tenor banjos have necks about 2/3s as long, heavier strings and are quite loud. They worked well in early jazz bands playing against cornets, trumpets, trombones, and drums.
The finger-picked Scruggs-type 5-string banjo commonly played in Bluegrass music is a plectrum banjo with a high 5th string on a peg a little more than halfway up the neck.
@@rescue270 tenor banjo has different tuning, in fifths CGDA as opposed to plectrum banjo CGBD or sometimes people tune it top 4 of guitar DGBE
This music never goes out of style as far as i am concerned. Rocking the kazoo!

and the singer,too.
Yeah great guitar solo indeed, i don't think anyone back in 1930 was as fast as this guy. Good band.
Hi Danny, thank you so much for your nice comment! Dani Vargas is a wonderful guitarist indeed.... You can learn more about his music on his website : www.danivargas.com/
Enjoy! :)
What about Django Reinhardt then ? He was around in the 1930's... he was ultra fast and played with only 2 fingers and a thumb on his left hand after an fire accident when he was 18.
Я из России. Люблю джаз и американскую сельскую музыку. Всё великолепно. Михаил
What a delight! It's impossible not to smile whilst watching and listening to this gem! Thank you for lifting my mood! 😊
I like the style. the dude on guitar is steering the ship and the rest is just gravy. Imagine you have all the frosting but no cake.
Just fantastic! Everything about this is perfect -- incredible instrumentation, slap bass, banjo, fantastic guitar solo and, of course the vocals and kazoo. Thanks for sharing your incredible talents.

Thanks for the kind words! I'm glad you enjoy our cover of this song. I am glad it brings you some comfort :)
I will upload a new tune next week!
Old jazz will be listened to in another 100 years. Today's "popular" music? Doubtful.
I'm quite impressed! I showed my wife this video, and she was like "oh wow".....both our grandparents as teenagers in the late 1920's would have been all over this song!!! Fond memories, and boy....what a fantastic talent to all involved!!! A real nice surprise!🤩
Seriously impressive attention to detail. The fashion, the microphone, the instruments used, the vocal style. 1920s-1960s music is far superior to modern music IMO and you guys nailed it.
Thank you so much for your nice comment Dylan! I am glad you noticed all the efforts we put to make this video looks this way! 🙂If you like this style, I am 99% sure that you will appreciate even more the next song! We were able to hire a wonderful cameraman who helped us to increase the quality of our next video. It should be on my channel next week! 🥳🎵

I'm madly in love with these ladies as of this very moment, such talent, style, and beauty, it's a special vibe that the world needs more of, and I loved how the ghost of Django possessed the guitar for a minute, I tip my hat to you sir, how wonderful. ...and the Kazoo, a genuine article that is, yowzas, I'd shine her shoes for a penny.

Outstanding. Michael J Fox on guitar over here from 2023 on a gypsy guitar. Also, love the low mid cut for that authentic sound!
Everything about this video is fantastic - but my favorite thing is the way the camera captures those crazy red bass strings doing their thing!

Great Group. Everyone is exceptionally talented.
Love it. Sometimes the old music is the best. Thank you for keeping the genre in the public.
I know this song from "One Froggy Evening," and it is good to hear the whole thing at last. A real joy of a performance.

Thank you so much Gregory! Another video is on the way 🎶
And the beautiful Katie Cavera in the trademark 'washing' dress. Love it! 😏
Her legendary smile and beauty make us all look better! 😁🤩 We are so lucky and happy to play with her!!! 🥳
I'm intrigued by the weird effect the video frame rate has on the red strings of the bass - they look as though they're loose and floppy. Slow the video down to less than half speed and you'll see what I mean. And I love these old songs, they're pure music and perfect for dancing to but that guitar solo - that's something else! Brilliant!
Thanks for the feedback Kendal! I'm glad you enjoyed our music.
The weird effect you're seeing is called "aliasing." It happens when the frame rate of the video is not a multiple of the frequency of the vibrations of the strings. In this case, I believe the video is 30fps, and the strings are vibrating at a frequency of around 440hz (the A above middle C). This means that the strings are vibrating 440 times per second, and the video is capturing 30 frames per second. In some frames, the strings will be perfectly still, and in other frames, they will be completely blurred. This can give the illusion that the strings are loose and floppy.
To avoid this effect, we should either use a higher frame rate video camera, or a software program to convert the video to a higher frame rate. We are working on it and I can't wait for you to watch the video I will post next week, nothing compare!!
And thank you for the guitar solo!
Dani Vargas is very talented, and he loves to improvise (I'm always impressed by his solos)

Yes, amazing all around! What kazoo is that? I want one 🤯
Thank you so much for your kindness and your support, we sincerely appreciate it 🙏
Wow! amazing kazoo solo. She's got that sound of Red McKenzie's "blues blower." Is that a home made instrument, or can you buy them? In any case, great solo, and she knows how to improvise.
Thank you Rezillo! This solo is so great! 🎵
Indeed, this is a home made instrument : Paige added a pipe and a funnel to her original kazoo to amplified it! :)
@@jennacolombet2964 I play trumpet and sing. I used to play in a swing quintet that did tunes like this; then I moved away. Guitar solo and banjo are great; so is the vocal; but I LOVE that kazoo. I'm guessing you must know who Red McKenzie was. Nobody ever captured his sound - until now! Well done, and best of luck chasing after gigs.

Excellent, délicieux, charmant. Et très professionnel…
Nice music and rendition. If I may have one tip (or rather wish) for video: less cuts, less camera movements, less defocusing. I am aware there will be people with different taste in this regard but, for this kind of music era, more matching visual tempo would be nice 😉
