- Bringing these back to their original glory one step at a time. For today's episode of Customs and Restorations with Vick he took on the legendary Supreme Air Jordan 5s. Now these might be considered a hypebeast sneaker because of that Supreme collab, but I'd say it's a pretty solid collaboration.
We picked these Supreme Jordan 5s up from eBay as a worn sneaker with yellowing, scuffs and so much more. To restore these as always we needed to start with a deep cleaning using RESHOEVN8R products. We used the Signature Shoe Cleaning Kit to give the sneaker the deepest clean possible. Since we picked these up as a worn sneaker who knows what might be on these kicks.
Once the sneaker was out of the wash it time to remove that yellowing from the sole and the netting. We applied Sole Revive to the sole of the sneaker to use with the UV lights to remove all of that unwanted oxidation. After multiple rounds of application and trips to the ice box. These Jordan 5s still did not turn back to the original icy color.
Although the results on the outsole were disappointing, there was a lot of positive that came from their trip to the ice box. Now it was time to repaint the midsole using Angelus paints.
Overall these came out pretty solid and we can flip them! eBay is hands down the best place to pick up used kicks to restore and flip.

I like that you posted a video where the soles didn’t ice back up. Sometimes it just doesn’t work. I have a pair like that, and I tried so many times that the rubber just got hard.

From my experience the only time I've had this issue i realized afterwards the only way to overcome it was to ice it from both sides meaning I had to dismantle the sole completely and then finally it fully cleared up better then new. Its also sometimes the white paint or whatever color paint that is on the inside of the icy soles if there is paint which some have this some dont.
don't worth saying that there's also more extreme measures you can take to ice soles more. Theres stronger peroxide solutions but I personally haven't ever tried any of the more extreme methods. I will however be doing some experiments with these measures in the future and documenting it all.
Bro I bought a pair of these the other day to resell & literally been icing non stop for 5 days and my pair looks the same as his so reassuring to hear it’s the shoe & not me😂
@seanbaker4408 i once saw a video where they dropped in some blue die in the sole sauce to help with that. Not sure if it really works or if it was video magiced. Just putting that out there in case it does work.

The Camo pair is one of my grails still on the hunt for it along with these. For the right price
Crazy how yellow the soles got, but the netting is still pretty much clear on the uppers. I worked on a customers pair of camos and the netting was baaad. Super strong UV popped them back really well, no sauce needed. Appreciate you showing the sole results as well, most people won't talk about pairs that don't want to ice, they only post pairs that pop back super easy, so clients always think every sole can come back to 100% because that's all they see.

Why my Jordan 5 black metallic netting won't get ice i gave it around 5 attempts for 10 hours sessions and it only made a slight difference
Whoever invents something that can get clear soles back to looking brand new will forever be a sneakerhead god

I swear this dude has done 1 million reglues and it seems he has different techniques and different glues. Question: when you apply the first coat of Barge how long do you wait to apply the 2nd? Also when you apply the 2nd how long do you take before you heat it? I have done 13?sole swaps/reglues and have tried different methods. Some work better then others but I want to know the 100% best method including how you get the top portion of the soles to securely stick to the shoe without getting glue on the shoe?
I typically only apply 1 coat of glue. I know a lot of people that apply 2 coats of glue that say it works better that way. In my opinion it’s overkill but it doesn’t hurt to do it. For me 1 even thin layer of coat works great. I usually wait at least about 2 hours or so before heating everything up to stick together. The key is applying glue evenly and not missing a spot anywhere and also prep work is key. Prep so all different depending on the materials and shoe. I use either a dremmel, acetone, paint stripper or exacto knife to remove old glue. And when it comes to sticking everything together you gotta apply very little heat. Lots to it but it’s all in the prep and making sure you’re not skipping any steps

Nice job Vick. Did you have to put sole revive on the netting in order for the UV rays of the Vick 2000 to work or were the lamps enough to get the job done on their own?

Our Mink oil helps to condition the suedes and regain their color to some extent. While water+stain repellent protects shoes.
Is he using a blow dryer or heat gun to dry the paint?
Vick uses a heat gun to dry the paint.
