I saw an interpretation of the story of Judas. He was described as having expectations of Jesus to overcome his enemies in a grand, sweeping, supernatural way. He set Jesus up to be arrested because he expected this grand show of power. Problem was, that was not Jesus’s way. Judas had his love for Jesus, but he had an expectation that was his own. The way of Jesus is unique.

I started watching The Chosen and this feels like their take on Judas. Judas has his view of what he thinks should be. It feels so much more human and relatable. I see some of my past mistakes in him. Could you link the video you're referring to? I'd love to watch this take. Every time Judas comes on and does something selfish, I have to stop the show and calm myself down because it brings me back to those places where I should have not done those mistakes.

Thank you for this edifying conversation. The relationship between Jesus praying in the garden vs Adam and Eve sinning in the garden is very profound.

A couple of months ago I heard the story of the talents told in Spanish; I was listening to a Spanish podcast and it happened to come up. I’ve often had ah ha moments due to language and translation and this was a big one! I had just read the story of the talents in the Bible a few months prior and I assumed that talents had a unique, archaic meaning. Even a Bible commentary equated it to a monetary amount. Then, when I listened to this Spanish version, it occurred to me and it was explained explicitly that talents means talents. That if you use your talents that God gives you they will be multiplied. If you do not, they will be taken away. A case in point in here for me is my talent for languages, if I were to not keep up with my practice, learning and serving where I can with this talent, surely it would fade away as is often the case for skills and talents like this. Thank you Tammy! I’m looking forward to more from you. Thank you for sharing. 🙏🏻💗

That's where the true magic of the Bible lies, in my view. In going back and looking at how different words were translated and chosen and what they would have meant at the time. Thanks for the insight in your post.

At the judgment, there won't be enough good things that we would have done here to offer that could usher us into heaven. Only one answer. Jesus. ❤ Because of His Sacrifice, we can know Him. Ah sweet rest.
I want to become like Him therefore I seek/my desire /my commitment is to seek daily for Him to purge me of my sins.
Tammy, you are a tender, sharp, thought-filled, spirit. Thank you for the vulnerability to wrestle here the way you do. ❤🙌🏻
    Thank you to your guests.

It amazes me the many teachings derived from one scriptural references. Judas was with Christ at his reappearing before ascension, forgiven it was prophesy and needed to be fulfilled. John 20: 22 Judas still among the twelve. Vs. 24 at Christ's appearing. But before Acts 1: 16 - 18. Like falling on your sword, Judas impaled and disemboweled himself with a wooden stake, bowels burst, hanging from a tree, as the cross was called a tree. Devil spirits, guilty and shame, Judas could not bare, and would not give to God in spite of forgiveness. I learned a lot from this eye opener you have presented me. Thank you. God bless you both.

To be an multiplying instrument of God. Whenever by God’s grace we notice a lack of good in someone or something, if you take it from yourself and put it there God will give you more.
Let’s say you notice lack of love, corruption, unprofessionalism, gossip, bullying, patience, joy, peace, charity, warmth, strength, sweetness, whatever it is that bothers you bring it and God will give you more. He always does. It’s infinite. There’s a reason why you notice. If there’s something you see you lack, give it to others and God will give it to you, immensely more that you can conceive. God’s Love and Grace surpasses all the humanly calculated or thought.
God is the boss, you never bring the boss a complain without having thought a solution to the problem. Same thing. God will use what you bring and multiply it. But you need to bring your seven loaves of bread and the little fish you have left.
What do I have? What do you have?
Let’s be collaborators of God’s creation.

May we be a blessing to others without thought about our own blessing from God: that God will multiply his blessing for us: If we do God's will it will be done in the Spirit of self forgetfulness: For it is not by works that we are saved so that no one can boast. As stated in Ephesians 2: 8 -9 8 For by grace you have been saved through faith; and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God; 9 not as a result of works, so that no one may boast.

Thank you so much for this discussion. I really enjoyed it 💕. I think maybe Jesus chose Judas knowing the betrayal as an example of the unconditional love he has for all of us. We all can be forgiven for our sins he will never turn his back on us. But we need to recognize our sins and truly repent. 🙏🏻

I'm a little confused. Didn't the women traveling with Jesus stay along with Virgin Mary? Either way. I know I will have to watch this on repeat. Learning about the statue made from the Shroud of Turin convinced me that Jesus was... is... historical. I had other theories or I was uncertain but this feels much closer to the truth. I felt this knot on my stomach.

Judas was the only man, other than the coming anti-Christ to be called a son of perdition. Jesus said that it would have better if he had never been born. Judas shows how even someone who witnessed first hand the miracles of Christ can lack faith and be bound for hell. For by faith are we saved through grace and not of works which lest any man should boast, Paul said by the power of the Holy Spirit.

There's one issue in Christianity Matthew 10:37 Luke 14:26 and if you look at the Exodus chapter 20 those Go against the commandant of honoring your mother and father with this said then Jesus basically wants you to be miserable and disrespect your parents and hate your life in order to become a disciple of Jesus and follow him the other issue is you have in the Bible it says all liars will burn in a lake of fire when you lie about Santa Claus coming down in chimney giving gifts we all know that's a lie and all liars will burn in a lake of fire a lie is a lie the hypocrisy of Christmas and Santa coming down a child delivering gifts in one night around the world is a lie so all liars that know and participate in that lie will burn in the lake of fire they believe in dont get me started on the concept of pagan belief in Christianity with a dead man on a idol of a cross wich you drink whine as blood and eat bread as flesh

I appreciate your thoughts on these Bible verses. In Catholicism, we interpret these passages with the understanding that Jesus is emphasizing the supreme importance of our commitment to Him. When Jesus speaks of 'hating' our parents, it's a strong way to emphasize that our love for God should be our highest priority. It's not about actually hating our parents; rather, it's about recognizing that our love for God should be so profound that all other relationships pale in comparison. It's like saying, 'I love God so much that my love for anyone else, even my parents, seems like 'hate' in comparison.'
Regarding lying, there is indeed a difference between telling a lie and being a 'liar.' While we all may tell lies at times due to our human imperfections, the key is our intention and effort to strive for honesty. We strive to be lovers of Truth, seeking mercy and forgiveness when we fall short. This striving for truth is different from being a 'liar' who habitually disregards the truth.
In essence, Catholicism teaches us to prioritize our relationship with God and the pursuit of truth, all while recognizing our human imperfections and seeking God's grace and forgiveness. I hope this helps clarify these concepts.
