TESLA-swapped EL1 Drift Camaro gets AEM EV!

  • Check out the first fully electric Pro-spec drift car, the Napoleon Motorsports EL1 Camaro! This Tesla LDU-swapped beast is purpose-built for competition in Formula Drift and is piloted by Travis Reeder.
    The Napoleon Motorsports team was looking for more precise motor control and motorsports features like torque management, switchable power levels, safety parameters, and data logging, so they turned to AEM EV and its Controls System for the Tesla LDU. AEM EV added a CAN Keypad for controlling drive modes, PDU-8 Power Distribution Units for controlling switched devices, and a CD-7 logging/GPS-enabled dash for full data visualization.     This car shreds!!! So awesome seeing it in Sonoma smoking the entire event out.
    The AEM system is so clean and simple . Props to them for investing in EV controls. Very exciting to see products like this coming to market.

    Why does the car run dual current shunts?

      One is Issabellenhuete IVT-s and other is for stand-alone BMS. If using a supported BMS, would only need the IVT-s.

    you guys just did what I've been always curious of, especially with that ZL1 Camaro body, I hope you guys would build this thing to beat the Tesla Plaid.
