- In Beautiful Disaster, bad-boy Travis Maddox (Sprouse) is exactly what college freshman Abby Abernathy (Gardner) needs and wants-to avoid. The book holds a special place in my heart as it was THE book that brought the New Adult Romance genre into the mainstream media. It was my first book in the genre and it made me fall in love with the genre. I still read it every so often as it has that spark to it that no other story has. That being said, this trailer isn't what I expected. The actors certainly don't look like and feel like the characters (especially Dylan) in the book so I'm going to pass on this one. They should have never made a film adaptation of the book. It just ruins everything.

EXACTLY. Dylan sprouse is not Travis. This book deserves more justice. Not just the book, but the entire beautiful series. This is the book that brought me into romance novels.

This book and this series are my absolute favorite. I’ve read them all multiple times and I know I can’t be the only one with a completelyyyyy different vision than this. I like the actors but they don’t fit my vision of the book at all and I’m very sad 😫

I’ve read the book 4 years ago and I loved everything about it, I don’t think that this teaser delivers much of the chemistry between the characters because something seems off .I hope that the full length trailer will be better ,because this book means so much to me and for those who are saying that this is a spin-off to AFTER or whatever the heck it is just STOP this book is so much better than after stop comparing two different stories, it’s not always about AFTER when it comes to an enemies to lovers plot
The first thing I noticed and loathed is that they didn't realize this book was written 11 years ago. Back then we don't even have "being on social media" on our To-Do-List. The scene where Abby is checking out Travis on a social site in class is a BIG NO-NO. I mean even that picture was of a fight that's supposed to be illegal😬, how will they possibly justify the fact that Travis wasn't involved in an illegal underground sport where the Fire began when his vary picture is uploaded on web for the world to see🤦🏻♀️

This was my first ever new romance book - I read this when I was only 14 - which was over 10 years ago now! I remember i actually read at least half of it on the authors website and loved it so much I bought a physical copy which I still have - I haven’t read it in over 8 years, but I used to be obsessed with it!
I was going to pick up the book but if it's appropriate for a 14 year old I don't think it's as steamy as I want lol
I love the book. And all the books after Beautiful Disaster. The movie probably won’t satisfy everyone, and that’s okay. It’s just cool to be able to have a film out there and say the book or the movie or both. Every one has an opinion on this release, as they should. We’re all fans for a reason. I love the books so I’m rooting for the movie to do well.

@@oliviaschneider1708 they are! All the brothers are different but you'll fall in love with all of them! Thomas's book is a little different but still somewhat similar and it goes with the story line. The story doesn't stop!

I love this book. And like Dylan, so really nothing to do with him. But.. he just doesn’t do it for me as Travis.. feels like a parody.. hope it’s better than it looks.. 🤞🏼

@@demit.7982the director of this movie is roger kumble. the same director who directed the worst movie in the after franchise ‘after we collided.’ he was later exposed for pressuring josephine langford, the female lead of the after franchise, to moan louder in an adr and she didn’t want to bc she felt uncomfortable. she later cut him off. for more reasons than just that. hence the reason why he trash talked her to her own fans in their dms. might want to rethink of supporting him and this movie
I really really really times 1,000 hope they don’t mess this up. This was one of the first YA series that I got hooked on. Hoping this captures most of what Travis and Abby’s relationship started as and evolved to. Thinking happy thoughts, thinking happy thoughts.

This honestly makes me so sad. I’ve loved this book for years and have reread it so many times. 45 seconds is all it took to see they got it so spectacularly wrong.
This was the first book I’ve ever read, and I loved it. Now that I see the trailer, I’m already disappointed. 😢. I just don’t understand why the production of the movie changes things when they are gonna make a movie based on a book. The book is already there with all the features, characters, aspects written for them to follow. The fans we already fell I love of the story, characters, and of course we fell in love with Travis, the only thing I ask is for is for them to put the characters in a screen, just in the way they are. How hard is that.

Just read “Beautiful Disaster” and “Walking Disaster” for like the fifth time or so as soon as I watched the teaser for the movie. And just finished “Almost” for the first time. Loved it. 2023 can’t come soon enough 😂❤
might want to rethink supporting this movie since the author of this series is an executive producer on the movie and she was exposed for being a racist. you can find screen shots of her racist comments made during blm in 2020 if you look it up. there have been tiktoks made exposing her sharing those exact screen shots.

the director you’re talking about, roger kumble, was exposed for trash talking the lead actress of the After franchise bc she cut him off. the reason for that being that he made her uncomfortable on multiple occasions, one of them pressuring her to moan louder in adr, and she didn’t want to. the author of beautiful disaster was exposed as a racist. screenshots of the comments she made can be found if you either look it up, or find tiktoks exposing her about them.

I get why a lot of people don't see dylan as travis. But remember the character is only 19/20 years old. Dylan def looks that in this. Also while many people are intimidated by him in the books, i feel like it is more because his reputation. Women flock to him. He seems way more goofy throughout the book than scary. Until he gets mad. Dylan is exactly the type of guy i imagined travis as.

But I also know that movie versions rarely ever do their book justice, especially for huge fans lol
-I thought I’d be more disappointed with Dylan Sprouse as Travis- and I am, but for a different reason than i thought! His looks actually kinda remind me of Travis but something about the acting isn’t doing it for me. When he looks at her it doesn’t feel like how he felt in the book, hopefully there’s more to it in the movie!
-I think they switched America and Abby’s looks, I pictured the main actress to be the best friend (America) and got someone else for Abby
-the whole feel of the movie is, for the lack of a better word, bouncy..idk I felt the book had more of an edge to the story
-overall I feel like hardcore fans will def be disappointed but regardless I will be watching as this trailer alone made SO EXCITED I WILL BE REREADING

It's been a long time since I listened to the audio book but Travis and Abby always seemed mysterious and a little dark. The whole story gave me an "edgier" vibe. Dylan could be Travis if they had him act differently, why is he cute and goofy 🤨. Yes sometimes it's not that they chose the wrong actor but they chose the wrong direction for the actor, Dylan is a good actor who's been doing this for years I'm perfectly sure he could have played Travis very well but they decided to do it this way🤷🏾♀️. Abby is a little frustrating to me in the book, but they decided to make her...(😐)... annoying 😅. So this is gonna be interesting

I remember reading the book years ago. The typical virginal girl who falls for the bad boy who sleeps around. I did not like Travis's character at all, his coping mechanism with dificult situations was getting drunk and f*cking someone, even if the girl he actualy liked was right next door. And no matter how many times he hurts her at the end he is forgiven, kinda like Hardin from After.

Questo libro avrà per sempre un posto speciale nel mio cuore, è stato uno dei primi libri che mi ha introdotto ad una serie di libri di questo genere. Letto anni fa, non so se ora riuscirei ad apprezzarlo come quando ero molto più piccola. Ma senz'altro vedrò il film perché per anni ho desiderato che facessero una serie ispirata ai libri. Unica pecca,parer mio: l'attrice è troppo grande per il personaggio che deve interpretare..io ricordavo che la protagonista avesse 19/20 anni... l'attrice che hanno scelto è veramente troppo avanti con l'età e soprattutto lui sembra anche più giovane...vabè da vedere.
When I read the book back in 2013, I always imagine Nina Dobrev as Abby and Chris Hemsworth as Travis.

This "teaser" is giving 100% romcom (which I am sooo down for it and probably gonna watch it thinking that, if a take out the fact that is base on BD) but not at all what I thought the adaptation for this book would be.
