It was fun to play with for the lights and sounds but it looks insane, ha ha ha.
But the regular rings look so nice along with the figures. very smart bonus to make as I played with them all back in the day.

Maybe there’s a reason why the Fire and Heart Rings are silver, and the other three are gold. Wheeler and Ma-Ti are from the Western Hemisphere (home of North and South America), the other three (Kwame, Linka, and Gi) are from the Eastern Hemisphere (home of Africa, Europe, and Asia).

I've always tried to piece something together as to why. Could be the minerals of their locations. The rings kind of popped out of the environment itself in the show. Silver might be more from those Americans, and more gold in the Europe, Asian, and Africa area's they were from at the time.

You would think they could have used a hurricane symbol for wind but they made it blue and with the wavy lines. The actual wave symbol for water looks like a blue lightning bolt or something 😭😂

They are a little vague when there are better options. The 3 lines is a fairly typical "air" symbol but water's isn't anything I've seen anywhere else to suggest waves or anything. I think they wanted some copyright on unique symbols.

I loved the interesting powers and messages of the show also. You have to say VIND like Linka. I think the black ring is from the ARTIC Captain Planet figure, I have a playlist about the toys I am still adding to in case you missed it: czcams.com/play/PLkVjD6XP11VrX-stImCuwanzAMis4lYa_.html

One thing they missed out on was the cloned pollution rings of captain pollution.

My favorite 2 part episodes that I watched over and over. I would have loved toy versions of their evil warped rings. I think they had a lot of the toys made before that episode since there was not a Captain Pollution figure until very much later in this line. I hope to get one soon to show here too.

The sheer irony of a show about ecology, selling a fuckton of cheap useless plastic electronic toys.

    • @MBXfilms

The toy-line played a part in engaging children and keeping them interested in the show's messages. You can't have a message and ignore basic marketing strategies. They are no saints for making the same toy junk as any other show, it's not a black and white issue, that's for sure.
It also doesn't diminish the positive impact that "Captain Planet" had on environmental awareness. Plenty of people remember it VERY well because of a few extra plastic trinkets. Packaging was all from recycled material also... :) Thanks for watching.
