You skipped the "Suisei Model 21", which is BIS for BBVs, deals like 70% more surface damage than the second best plane.
Nice Vid, Kimo. I hope they make an Update to the Gear Lab this year. Hopefully before the 1Year Anniversary of Operation Siren's launch. I would really like some fresh New Gears in there.
One could make the argument that the Ju-87 D-4s are "better" than Ryuseis, or at least more consistent since it actually spawns the torpedoes closer to the enemies.
I personally think that they are a torpedo bomber that's being slept on
I can attest to this. If you like consistent torps hitting and not letting people done torpedo beats your planes ju is actually not bad
so the better accuracy becoz the torps spawn closer to the target, do you mind to tell me how close tho? I keep asking this question, people just say more accurate without any proper explanation and it just annoying, and I really like ur explanation.
@@yonathanardiananggoro1599 Based on the wiki the JUs have slightly batter homing than the Ryuus as well. Not sure about the spawn comments tho.
@@Ishlacorrin I check my self on shinano (2 torps bomber) ju 87 d4 drop closer than ryuusei but i dont know how much closer from the way i observed around 2 torpedos length closer. about homing honestly there is no homing what so ever, they just go straigth like normal converging torps. The real homing torps like the dd they make a big turn chasing the target.
@@yonathanardiananggoro1599 Wait, I was thinking of Sub torps not Torp Bombers, my bad. The German sub torps have the highest homing rating.
even if this vid is 22min, you saved up so much time than me doing internet research. and im still quite new with all this gear lab thingys since its very grindy for my liking
It was pretty straight forward considering what you covered, the time is just a consequence of how much content is just in the gear lab alone, so long as you get your point across you shouldn't worry about the timing
the reason people recommend the type96 triple 25mm is for AA adjustment, basically increasing AA ticks by stacking its fast reload.
11:08 I was able to farm 86 blueprints of Neptune's Gun from SP4 jeez what a grind while knocking out Mainz, FDG and Gascogne Exp II collection.
12:00 I still see PR1 Focus as an option and the BP are there still.
86??? damnn you mustve had a shit ton of oil.
yow i didnt get any :'))
There was a good drop rate on those prints. i got 79 of them.
@@nordindelosreyes3473 I spent for Oil Gems that is approx $46 USD a day throughout the event. Many says its not worth but to me I wanted to grind PR exp and get them Neptune Guns. I was able to clean out the event shop too. Lololol.
i got 94 of them..man those oil commissions really help me a lot to keep my grind going
the type 96 AA gun is a good option if you have a ship with poor AA, they call it the accelerator gun because it don't hit hard but, it has the best reload time.
Sea hornet is extremely good, but as you said it's expensive, on the other hand tigercat deal almost same damage but the fire rate is very slightly lower than sea hornet.
@@waifuhunter9709 It is indeed
The Twin 128mm is very good for torpedo ships.
Quick question on the Sky Pirate, specifically for Independence Retrofit: Is the 15% efficiency gain for Eagle Union aircraft enough to make it worthwhile to use Sky Pirate over the Wyvern in general?
Yeah that's fine then.
But sky pirate is Fighter??? Hold on
@@WhosManIsThisI am referring to the Douglas XTB2D-1 Skypirate, which is the gold gear shop Eagle Union torpedo bomber. I believe you are thinking of the F4U Pirate Squadron Fighter from the Core data shop.
I built one just for Independence Retrofit
@@nexusvideo I did so as well. I wanted to point out this outlier case is probably worth building one since Independence Retrofit is so good but requires USS planes for full effect.
Im so glad you made this vid, it saves me asking in your discord every day about different gear lab equipment lmao.
10:40 not Didi, It's Dido gun xD (For real, and secondary armament of most prominently KGV class battleships) Also, my cheap side, doesn't want to replace all my G7 mags for Bidders, unless I have a big excess of coins to do so.
Thanks for this video man. As a somewhat new-mid player this guide helped a lot. But as someone already asked above me, is this video still viable? I see in your new videos that you use the Ju-87 D-4 instead of Ryusei even though the video suggested otherwise. Is there any stuff like this I need to look out for? I'm dumb and not good with numbers
Both are fine, but junkers are more used. If you don't know which ones to get then just go with junkers.
I love collecting unique gears, so I've been working on getting one of all the gear lab equipment.
21:33 The Ju-87 D-4 is actually considered Superior from latest CN/JP testings. They drop closer to the enemy and are much more consistent compared to Ryuusei. Recommended to +13 over Ryuusei in most cases
do you have any link that talk about comparison for ju 87 d4 and ryuusei?
Just3c said the same.
it just dawned on me that if I want a 3rd 457 Geogia gun I'm gonna have to grind for it this year before they remove PR2 from rotation to make way for PR5...
Kimo was mistaken in saying that PR1 research was removed entirely. It's still there (maybe only the gear researches?) but you only get it in rolls if you've set PR1 as your focus. They should do the same for PR2.
They didnt remove anything, you can still get the gear as usual from PR1.
If im not mistaken sea hornets only have a little advantage over tigercats but only by a small amount plane speed and reload, thanks for the vids as always!
Slightly more crash damage as well if you're using them in pvp.
Which shop do we have to clear to get the free wyvern?
What did you mean by the pity every three months for the wyverns? Returning player just confused by the whole gear lab stuff.
there will be 3 universal UR prints in Operation siren shop every months, so in 3 months you can get 1 wyvern
Exactly what @DuskDawn said, but you have to buy everything in the shops.
@@jamesyoung151 Please explain buying everything. If you buy everything they jsut appear? Or they appear the next refresh? Is it everything in all 3 shops? Does it have to be everything for the whole month or just everything once? Sorry for my confusion. :D
@@nastube4052 No problem. Buying everything means buy everything in all 4 shops. You can also gain some blueprints by doing the abyssal siren coordinates.
@@jamesyoung151 So anytime during the season you jsut buy everything in all 4 and where does it appear? Oh is it one of the missions in the information menu?
What about the Des Moines aa gun? For Allen? Is it worth it for this one ship?
It seems like I made the right choice getting that Baltimore gun, and I also made a couple of Quad 40mm Bofors(Sextuple Bofors will take ages to make) and Colorado gun as well
where i can farming "SR Main gun design plan?" i play every stage and still not get the design plan
sorry for the dumb question but how do u farm for the gun design plans and testing reports?
Operation Siren
I'm watching this six months later, are these still the top to prioritize?
You get a pity Wyvern every three months?
Which shop the one you get after the finial day reset? Or the shops in the map that resets every three 3 days!?!
I just bought out the enitre shop in the final day reset I saved up but don't have one...
Where do we get specifically the materials??
Aye I actually wanted this video haha. Thanks Queso!!
16:48 What does it mean by wyverns can intercept planes? Don’t all torpedo/dive bombers also have an AA gun?
New player here .-.
Its a passive AA that only Fighters do. They launch automatically to shoot down enemy aircrafts, Wyvern is very special because its a torp bomber. Hope this helps
Only fighters intercepts planes in the game mechanics. The torpedo and dive bombers don't do that. The Wyvern is a dive bomber, but can also intercept planes.
They only use those AA guns when they launch to strike. Wyvern on the other hand also auto launch like fighter planes to intercept enemy planes
I see, thanks for all the replies :D
@@hassathunter2464 I'll have to look at that one.
you said that you could get a pity wyvern how does that work?
16:25 I'm not entirely sure what you mean here. Is there a pity system for UR gears this whole time that I'm not aware of?
any clue mate?
Haven't been assed to get a Wyvern. BB gamers rise up
thanks for the info ! helped me decide on my first gear lab builds
The HMS CA gun seems to have a sightly better dps compared to the saint louis gun, still is considered worse, why is this? The longer reload messes with vanguards all out assault or what?
The pattern is really good, but it's down 30 weapon coefficient compared to SL gun. Although I think it could be really close on damage output I just stuck with the classic because I never heard anyone fuss over that gun in particular.
Next up: a guide on how to effectively farm the gear lab materials :^)
Been grinding for months now but only just managed to build my 128mm DD guns (for NJ)
Have you got all of the data files? If you have, it will make Operation Siren a little easier to get through. I've worked consistently with low Adaptive stats and my mob fleet can clear all of the areas with little to no trouble despite not everyone being max level.
@@jamesyoung151 I have not completed the story yet no... Tho my adaptive stats are already over 500 (I know, they won't matter above 144-ish) but I still have trouble clearing...
Mainly because I only have 1 fleet at 120 (my boss fleet) and am still working on my mob fleet to catch up (tho I'm also pretty under-geared atm)
@@FinlayDaG33k I don't have the main campaign complete either (only at chapter 11). I jumped into Operation Siren right away while working on the main story. If you haven't already, work on getting all of the data files. It makes a big difference. I was able to level ships up while working on that. Once you complete that, Operation Siren becomes quite a bit easier. Granted, you still need good gear which will help a lot. If you have to, dorm your ships that you're trying to level up. It will help level them faster. My adaptive stats go as high as 200, but I can handle just about anything with 100 adaptive stats or less . I did an experiment this month to unlock of all the areas without buying additional adaptive stats using only my mob fleet. I was able to complete in just over 2 days. My mob fleet gained at least 2 levels each just from that alone. Full disclosure, two of the ships were in the dorm (FDG and Odin in particular). Keep at it, you'll get there.
@@jamesyoung151 I meant that I'm not done with the main campaign for OS.
Main campaign I finished 9-4 but haven't touched 10-1.
My boss fleet consists of (fully 120):
- Warspite
- NJ
- Formidable
- Roon
- Helena (Retrofit)
- Sandy
Mob fleet consists of:
- Aquila (120)
- Vittorio (101)
- SWEET HOME ALABAMAAAAAA (106?)
- Neptune (120)
- Ducatti (100)
- Nanoda (120)
But the rewards for OS that I get are so shit (again, it took me 4 months to even get the resources needed for the 128mm secondaries for NJ) that I generally don't really bother with OS at all beyond just the ashens ships.
Too much effort, little to no rewards.
Better off spending my time just powerfarming 2-1 unless there is some trick that I just don't know about.
@@FinlayDaG33k You have to finish the story on Operation Siren first. Once you do that, go for the data files (the wiki has the map). When you're ready, I'll link you to a video on how to complete it and I can explain it as well. I have 4 fleets. Mob fleet which is currently FDG(105), Odin (115), Perseus (120), Roon (115), Jeanne d'Arc (117), and Prinz Heinrich (110). I switch to IJN when I need to gain exp for a PR ship. I have two different boss fleets for strongholds and sirens that are weak against either shelling or bombing. My BB fleet is Monarch (120), Howe (108), Queen E (120), Cheshire (112), Helena (103), and Drake (120) my CV fleet is Shinano (113), Ark Roya (112), Centaur (114), Phoenix (120), Azuma (88), and Sirius (101). My 4th fleet normally consists of the French fleet with Saint Louis (120) and the Hai sisters (Ping - 108 and Ning - 112) as the vanguard. The mainstay is Richelieu (120) I have NJ (119) and Champagne (120) for now. I'm going to swap NJ and Champagne for Gasgcone (working on unlocking) and Jean Bart (120) as the permanent fleet once I have most ships at level 120. I use the 4th fleet to level ships up once they reach level 100. As far as your vanguards, make sure to have a torpedo bulge on them to minimize damage from missiles. If necessary, use one of your gear layout saves for Operation Siren
Last, you underestimate the rewards you get for Operation Siren. I'd have a lot less level 120 ships if not for Operation Siren. Operation Siren is very handy when you run out of oil. When you're trying to unlock a PR ship. Operation Siren allows you to grind for hours. You don't have to worry about oil usage and/or fatigue. You can gain exp from all but the blue bordered ships. Every month, I used the datalogger twice to get all of the data files. Since then, I defeat every area myself. One it has a benefit of gaining ship levels. Two, you get rewards in materials needed to build items in operation siren. I know the pain of trying to gather materials. Once you get the hang of it, it becomes easy to get through.
I just wanna ask, how and where can I farm those materials
Playing this at 1.5 speed, third time watching cuz I forget everything
Also your tldr broke?
Main issue for me in regards to gear from the lab is I can't bring myself to dedicate sufficient time to play OPSi. The only gold gear from lab I got so far is Ju-87 D-4 + few purple ones. So as much as I want to equip majority of my US heavy cruisers with that gold 203mm, though given above-mentioned reason it will remain a pipe dream.
Just set up a lv120 fleet and just auto search it while doing something else.
Hello! Can you please elaborate on the pity that you mentioned when you were talking about Wyverns-?
I wish they would add steam catapults to the gear lab.
Just open any gold Equipment Boxes.
@@rommel25687 I do. They just rarely actually give me any. RNGesus spits in my face.
@@generaladvance5812 same here! by far not enough gold catapults to equip all my CVs.
@@-Spartan-Lifestyle- Use Drop Tanks till you get Steam Catapults, but only level them til level 6.
How can I get the UR Torpedo design?
dido AA or sextuple
hmmst which is better
Coming back and having a bun material and gear starve is very fun.
I'd say make at least one 12A for Ark Royal.
CIRCUIT BOARDS!!!! Must be the most common word for this video XD
Can you explain what you mean by you get a pitty wyvern every 3 months for clearing the shop?
Buying everything in the Operation Siren shops will net you a pity Wyvern. Kimo mentioned this in an earlier video. I'd have to find out which one.
@@jamesyoung151 if you could refer me to it that would be great. Also is it the ticket exchange shop?
@@SHADOWREX11 Kimo messed up. He was referring to the UR blueprints in order to build the Wyvern... this is the reference video: czcams.com/video/2uJWjS30Lmo/video.html
Calling it a pity wyvern is pretty silly, considering you get 99% of your UR blueprints from the shop anyway.
@@jamesyoung151 You're appreciated my fellow shipmate.
16:16
nobody told me you can get pity wyvern, how do you do that?
any clue mate?
Aperently every 3 months, you can buy 9 UR universal prints In port
@@Hyukytribalkit idk sounds kinda made up, I always check my shop and never 3 bp a month
@@Zelepha 3 ports have 1 UR print in them. As those ports sell limited stuff, you can force the port to give you 1 UR Print if you buy out the shop every shop reset
What's the most efficient way to farm lab materials?
Do the strongholds and look for missions that will reward you boxes (gold ones especially). Also if you can, get the gold boxes to get some of most valuable ones like the electronics (comes from gold boxes).
What do you mean by a pity one wyvern every 3 months? I cleared the shop for the last 5 months and only at 7/9 prints
There are 4 shops on the map, the 3 on the right all have one general UR print per month. If you bought out all shops, you should be at 15 general prints. These prints can be converted to any of the 4 UR print types (Main gun, Anti Air, Torpedo, Planes).
I still haven't built my first Wyvern.
I've got the base plane. I just need the circuit boards now.
Thank you, this was helpful!
05:05 filters are for the weak ...
Wait, anniversary for what? Didn't we have it with the NJ release?
Also, you have no idea how confused I was with the gear lab till now. Thx.
Anniversary stream is on the 10th.
How tf do you have so many materials for contruction of these things, is it meowfficers or soemthin? I barely get anything.
He does the strongholds. They net a lot of materials. The boxes from the shops and missions will net you some materials too.
@@jamesyoung151 Oh, thanks. Do you reccomend i level my fleets all to 120 for that or is a 2 good enough to do strongholds?
@@alexanderwhite1108 It's not necessary to have all ships at 120 as long as you're using the right ships and gear. Once you use the 200 AP for a stronghold, it doesn't go anywhere. You can leave to heal and return back to it. Though if you call submarines while in the stronghold, you'll have to call them again. Not all of my Operation Siren fleets are level 120, but they can hold their own.
@@alexanderwhite1108 Having a couple level 120 fleet will improve your grinding experience significantly. You will run less trip back to port for repair. Also, remember to grind your 3 adaptive stats to over 188, overwise your enemy could be buffed for 30% extra damage and health.
@@SuperhotdogZz I ran all the strongholds available to me and it seems my fleets were strong enough for me to not need to repair even once. It just seems I am not getting as much materials as I expected from these, especially the rainbow parts.
how to grind for these resouce????
inb4 they update the gear lab in 2 weeks and this video is instantly outdated
Thank you cheese man 🧀
How do you have so many 5hing
Great guide!
Very good video. Thank you
Thanks I need this

Where do we get specifically the materials??
