The skill this master jeweler exhibits in making this ring is truly amazing and every time he hammered with his fingers in sight, I was literally biting my nails!
Thank you for your comment. Yes, any slight mistake means that the whole ring would have to be melted and started again. A true master at his craft!
Your hands and finger tips tells me you are an artist and hard worker and yet love what you are doing.

:o so cool I wanna learn this
Very nice work Gaston, you and I work almost identically in 3 stone ring construction. I have made hundreds of 3 stone rings over my 50+ years at the bench. I can see your classic training in your construction techniques. I imagine you apprenticed with a master, perhaps in Europe. I trained in Ireland in the 1960's but moved to the US in 1971. I'm curious about the sanding discs you are using, obviously the are high heat and seem to work well on Platinum, if you feel like shared the brand I would appreciate it. Anyway, I enjoyed watching you work. Regards, Terry Walsh
Hi terry Thank You for the compliments , the sanding disk I use are the 7/8 Moores coarse and 1.5 inches Adalox also coarse but on this a put from 4 to 5 in a mandrel also I use from Mooreâs 7/8 magnum very fine grid , I buy these from Otto Frei , make sure you get stainless steel mandrels for the sanding disks , if I can help you in any other thing please contact me , You can look at my work at Instagram@gastonjewelrymiami ,Thank You
An amazing video. The workmanship is stellar! Gaston, may I ask, what is the glass that you look through when you are using the torch? Is it to protect your eyes from the brightness or is does it allow you to see changes in the metal as they happen....or maybe both? Also, you don't use any flux when soldering? Thank you again for sharing your skills with us!!!
Hey Linda. Thank you so much for your comment. The glasses are to protect the eyes from the bright light emitted by the melting platinum. It's the same concept when you're welding.
Hi Linda the glasses are to protect my eyes from the glare of melting Platinum , is so bright that You canât see it , no I donât use flux for soldering Platinum , itâs not necessary , Thank You , good question
Beautiful work. Did the center stone have a diamond grading report? If yes, what company?
GIA
good
Woowwww
Excellent my friend
What gas mixture do you use?
thanks
I use natural gas and oxygen Thanks
Thanks, teacher
Thank you Gaston for answering đ
Is there any difference between using a rolling mill vs hammering?
With the rolling mill you can only flatten strait but with the hammer you can flatten with angles Thank You
Thank you Ando for your question and Gaston for answering đđ
Monstruo
MuchĂsimas gracias đ
What are tools used at 2:12 and later called where the metal is passed through to make a a round or square shaft?
Rolling mill
Amazing work! What camera do you use for recording? Thanks!

My new Netflix
I like making cheap aluminum rings and sell them for small amounts of money
not skilled enough yet for gold silver rings as they are better and cost to much to risk messing up
From experience I can tell you how skilled you are this is not easy and aluminum is easier because it donât need forging just a mold and a good sand and thatâs kinda hard I do some steel rings and I can tell you itâs hard the aluminum rings I sell for 50 cent I donate some of them to I donât think Iâll ever be that skilled
We should all appreciate he is doing this in a white shirtâŠâŠ.. I couldnât keep a dark shirt cleanâŠ
I like my deie sir
This is so easy, I do this every day with my eyes closed. Please give us some interesting content next time!
Send me the link to your video the next time you make one of these.
â@@Crmjewelershe cant from his playlists and stuff hes still in midterm college and hes a "angsty" person with a video called "f*** da police"

Thanks God, we -already- have "waxing method" & "metallic 3D printer" !!

Objection, is "passing" the street; NOT how we passed.
Do, what's works for you.
Cheers đ„đ
Whatever you say.
Old school much better , learning
As intriguing as this construction from bar and flat stock method is, I definitely agree. If I thought it were possible to at least construct portions of the ring in wax and cast it in platinum, that is precisely what I would try first. Metallic 3D printer doesn't work so well for platinum, though, so we're still a bit far off from just being able to 3D print a platinum ring. Maybe it would do for silver or gold, since they melt a bit cooler.
The Ring of Sauron the gay...!
Nice but not perfect work
Only God is perfect đ€·
I made the ring , and I made sure all measurements were the same on both sides of the ring and even the angles from both sides are even ,the side stones are set at the same high and the center is straight, even the facets of the stone is center ,I would like to learn from you , cause Iâm always learning and I love what I do ,what part of the ring is not perfect ?
Thanks
Umm, I'm dying to read his answer. It must be enlightening. đ€
