- Doing my deepest dives to date out at the Elbow in the Gulf of Mexico in 170-180'. Calm day. Water temp at bottom about 75. At top 88. So creates a thermocline and murky layer in the water. In this case, we can punch through it and have visibility at the bottom that is very good.
i like how this works 😅 , it s like free diving Spearfishing but with unlimited breath .
bro~Greetings, Yeah~ou created splendid -all the best,
Nice conditions. Nice hog too.
Thanks Scuba Steve! Always nice when it's flat calm for the long runs, but really appreciate it on any run!
Deep is different, huh? I remember my first dive out there - about 25 years ago... well sort of.
😄LOL! Getting fuzzy? C'mon! Can't be but a few thousand dives ago!
@@davidbrown5906 It was fuzzy DURING the dive! I remember on my first trip I shot a fish and grabbed the stringer to place the fish on it and there was already a fish on it. I kept telling myself.. "you remember shooting and stringing that fish, don't you?" but not hardly.
Nice, but pretty crappy that you are allowed to spearfish using scuba gear. Here in Australia it is illegal to spearfish using scuba.
So what's the relevance? Why's it "crappy?" It's NOT illegal here. It's LEGAL here. If I was there, I'd get better at free-diving if I wanted to spear more. Are you going to free-dive and spear in 178' traveling through a 30' murk layer? That's what I was doing. Different places, different countries, different rules, different traditions, different areas of acceptance. I don't think it's "crappy" that we drive on the R side of the road and you drive on the L, but they are different. So what?! The only thing "crappy" is freedivers that shoot chirping in about scubadivers that shoot and feel that it isn't right because it's not what they do. Get a grip and if you can't handle the world don't all do it your way, just watch freedive videos. This is a scuba shooting channel.
amen!!!! we are not down under🤣
Nothing wrong with spear fishing while scuba diving. I free dive and scuba! Best of both worlds. Sounds like someone’s jelly!
Me too! Not very good at it and no formal training but enjoy it and find it rewarding. Have respect for the guys that are really into it and hit amazing depths and get big fish. But those aren't the ones hating on what I post.
@@HumanBodyMaintenance No not at all mate!. I haven't spearfished since the 80's when I was a teenager, however here in Australia it is against the law to use scuba - as it is insanely "unfair" to the fish. I guess we have it as we really value our FINITE resources, so that 20 years from now there are still plenty of seafood around. Not jelly at all.
