Out 100 miles looking for Big Hogfish and Red grouper.
Glad you got him on that second shot... I had him lined up if you missed again so he definitely wasn't getting out of there 😂. I also ended up with about a 20" AR on the end of that drop. Good times

Typical mango behavior right!? So the first one that got shot I think was because I ended up blocking where he wanted to go back in. The second one in the hole had to be the smallest of the other 3 or 4….of course.

Pompano and permit are so freakin good That shot had me at the edge of my seat almost got away
Very lucky I saw it come in at end of dive, very lucky it stayed while I put line back on as I had already taken it off, and very lucky a suboptimal shot held and I got the fish. All Luck w a great outcome!!

I think its more like 0.1 miles per gallon those are twin 300s :)

LOL! Well, yeah. Heavier than dive 1 or 4 though. And still a good meal for me. Fortunately dive 2 was fruitful (pun intended, all mangrove “mango” snapper). Fun day diving with friends.

Loving the consistent uploads! I know you said you started spear fishing after state regs changed but how did you get into spearfishing? Had you been before the regulations changed? Keep up the good work!
I had offshore fished and enjoyed that. Grew up snorkeling quite a bit in the Caribbean. Then decided to learn to scuba dive and spearfish at the recommendation of a guy I fished with. More opportunity for other species such as Hogfish at the time when people didn’t fish for them. They were mainly had by Spearfishing.

Yep that looks like most of my middle grounds coral head dives when the gags are closed. They follow you around the whole time Nice hog though.
The gags have been growing nicely.

Thanks Liam. Started Spearfishing when state regulations started to change and limit recreational catch. I can get more species of fish and target the larger fish when Spearfishing. And it’s a lot of fun. Never know what you will see underwater.
