Thanks for the great info Todd. You are really helping educate fisherman.
Thank you for helping a beginner like myself to find fish. Each time out, thanks to you guys, I'm getting a little better at locating some fish.
While I don't fish in Tampa Bay, (I fish in the Marco area)your approach is extremely helpful with what to look for on your screen. Enlarging the screen made it so much easier to see. Keep it up. I'm learning.
I always love watching your videos. Thank you for making this one! This really clears up a lot of questions I had on using a sonar when targeting fish. Great information here and all over your channel!
Great video! Very informative, please do more of these. Thank You for sharing your knowledge.Tight Lines!
We sure do appreciate these videos some of us are not experts at it even if we think we would like to be so every little bit helps keep up the good work on the channel enjoy watching every video
Great video and explanation of what the machines are indicating. Thank you
I don't even live in the Tampa area, and love this. So few show what to look for, just they are doing... the where is important
Thank you Very much for explaining that with such Great detail and pictures. I fish fw alot and when i'm in saltwater some stuff on the screen idk what the heck i'm looking at!!!
You should be getting all thumbs up likes but theres always gotta be that 1 guy😜
We LOVE your channel
Great video again, just wanted to tell you I have been fishing only for a couple months now and I now can regularly catch my own bait (because of your videos), I found a nice spot on the Port Mantatee channel using my electronics (because of your videos) and my son and I caught 6 keeper snapper and 5 grouper last Saturday (because of your videos) . I know that doesn't sound like a lot but I am learning so much have you to thank
always wanted to fish that but didn't know you could. How deep does the water get over there ?
So close to 10k Capt. , thanks for the info.
Great tutorial for water imaging - thanks.
ThanksTodd, great summary and overview around bottom structure. I know you got some flack last week on your post regarding numbers and what to look for but I think this was in part due to a misunderstanding by a few folks, but I know your intentions where all good. Keep up the great posts and content.....and love the weatherman presentation this week....lol. See you on the water...Paulie
This is a great video! Thanks for the education!
I just want to tell you I thank you and I appreciate it your friend in Jacksonville
Thanks, super informative, hope this makes me a better fisherman
Thanks man, great video, keep up the good work
Great tips! Thank you for sharing
Best videos on CZcams! Thank you. What’s the side scan setting to get it to show just the bottom and not the water column? I can’t make my Lowrance Live do that. In 40’+ of water, it can be a waste of screen space showing all that water when I really just want the bottom.
Thank you for the presentation
That’s good info. You guys really try to educate. I see you rely a lot on side imaging - most people don’t have that option. I have a Simrad Go7 on my boat without the side scan transducer. If you were in my shoes, would you just upgrade the transducer to get side scan on the Simrad, or would you go with a totally new system and brand??
im coming from haines city which ramp will be the better for me instead of st pate thanks
I’m guessing this would be the same for destin as well ?
Do you sell the fish finder at your place?
Hey....... I must have a dumb bottom machine. Where do I get the Smart one with the guy talking to me in the bottom corner?
If you find one let me know ,maybe one that says hey dumbass try fishing right here ! Lol I need all the help I can get.
My issue is staying on top of the structure. I can't anchor in the channel, and I don't have one of those spot lock trolling motors, so I have to drift which sucks because you're only over the productive bottom for a few seconds before you drift past it.
Try anchoring at the port manatee channel. It’s easy to get setup there.
@@TampaBayFishingChannel didn't realize I could anchor in that channel. I'll give it a shot, thanks.
Be ready to pick up anchor on a moments notice, if a ship is coming to turn in there or is outbound they can’t move or stop so you can get the anchor up and move. You will be at fault if there is an accident and you are impeding the deep draft vessels transit. Of course that’s a mute point if you get run over by a ship. 🥴 with that being said enjoy yourself, there are a lot of fish in that area.
Without placing you on the spot with brands what sonar would you recommend for a person with a 23 foot center console I have a Lowrance HDS 7m currently
@@rogerhull7750 Im not associated with the channel but I have a Simrad Go12...its awesome.
I want to upgrade my electronics and get something with the side imagine, what model would you recommend?
I love my Humminbird Solix. I have used the raymarine, garmin, lowrance and simrad models and I have to say that my Humminbird blows them away when it comes to the side imaging. They are not cheap but they are worth every penny especially if you are doing the type of fishing we do.
@@TampaBayFishingChannelthanks alot man keep doing your thing you have the most informative fishing channel on youtube.
Do you have side scan on your simrad? I'm curious on what yours looks like compared to mine. My side scan on my simrad go9 is hard to fine tune to where i can see structure. hoping you have some insight on that
No we don’t have the transducer for it. But I have used pretty much all the other side imaging machines and none have come close to the Humminbird mega side imaging
I have the same unit. Look up a guy named Mike Smedley on here. He has a ton of setup and tip videos for Simrad's on his channel. He helped me get mine locked in.
Man I wish someone would do this with a Garmin. I have a Garmin unit and can’t find any videos
I need a better Fish finder. I need some coordinates to go with my son inside the bay.
Thanks man, great video, keep up the good work
*Showed me exactly where **enjoyable.fishing** recommend fish were from the bank was amazed at how on spot it was! Love it very easy to use portable and kept a good charge was out 8 hours.*
