- We got 3 calves the night before, and have a lot of things to get done. Feed the cattle, spread bedding in the white building, clean out the calving barn, and take the gauge wheels off the planter. I did not explain well in the video why we took the gauge wheels off, and we did this because we got them last year and are very new, and want to put them on our new planter that is coming soon. Where our now old planter is going, they didn't need the gauge wheels since they already have some they can put on.
Welcome to Sonne Farms! On this channel we showcase numerous jobs a Corn/Soybean/Beef producing operation takes on each day. Hop in the cab or sorting alley with Cole, Brian, or Jeff, and see how life really is for the people that help feed the US and the rest of the world. In addition to Corn, Soy, and Cattle, Sonne Farms puts up grass and alfalfa and sells pure bred Black Angus Bulls.

Haha love Brian in the guitar shovel jump😁

Brian's air guitar jump! Totally cool!!I'm slowly getting through the videos... I absolutely LOVE this channel!
Glad you enjoy it!
Your dad is a trip bro! Air guitar, old school fun
😂😂😂 Tell your dad he owes me a new keyboard. Mine kinda smells like beer and some of the keys don't work anymore. Man that air guitar jump came out of nowhere and I am still giggling. Love it LOL
Your dad can deliver humor with very few words! I like it. Between you and the other 22(I think that's how old you are) year old farmer named Cole on youtube with a cool dad you and your dad are my favorite.
Thanks Joey!
Don’t forget Larson Farms, that dad is the funniest with his sense of humor!
Love your dad. He makes me laugh
Jı
I really like how you handle your cattle. You know your dad has a look of being so proud of all you do. You guys are really awesome.

Glad you enjoy it!
You're a fine family operation. You Dad's a fun guy- I'd be pleased to meet him someday.
Thank you Jeffry
Thank you for showing your calving barn. I have decided to invest in a new barn that will make our operation more efficient and effective for calves and new moms.
Hope you love the building!
You're assignment should you chose to accept it, is to capture a segment from this vid starting at 5:58 to 6:03 and make it either your opening shot or the end shot of all your videos! I was shocked to see Yer Dad get that high off the ground! LOL
Good video!
new planter,, more horsepower love it,, your cattle and calves look so good,,, great operation
Thanks Mike!
I like the time lapse part. It adds variety to your videos and makes them more interesting. Too many people just do the usual herky jerky camera phone videos which make you dizzy.
I worked with a cattle farmer and he used to tell stories of calves not bonding with their mothers. Got to the point where he had to try match them with a cow that lost a calf and it would be adopted. He had all kinds of tough calving stories and having to go out in -20 to - 30F to help them at all hours of the night. Farming is a tough job.
Bigger, better, badder. Glad to see you are getting some new toys.👍
My family used to run a feedlot operation till we had to shut it down due to drought conditions and you separating them made me think of a time we were working at our feedlot horseback and I was helping with one of the pens, never was too good at horseback and had an older horse, and there was a biting wind that had picked up and I only had a windbreaker and thick gloves on at the time on and I was freezing on the horse but powered through. I miss those days and that horse. Freckles was the horses name and he was late 20s by the time I started riding him, he was my grandfathers horse before I took over riding him, and worked well with me. Had to retire him to just living out his life at the feedlot before we shut it down due to old age finally catching up to him, but it was a fun time. We now are only a farming operation, used to be both, but I miss those days
To spread straw in a large area . Load the bails into the poop spreader back into the space and start it up. Works great
You guys are funny you make it look easy and I know it's not your dad's a hoot making it fun your farm is great enjoy your videos
The heifer trials, my favorite time of year... Keep up the great work...
Time lapses are COOOLLL! Just wish I could do that thoughout my day and feel goooood!. 😁🙋

I like your operation on farming. I lived eastern Mt. On a small farm with grain and cattle. We had 2 little farms one was 1mile square.
Love the time lapse videos.....Brian is the shit!
Love the head nods at the end! Nice ranch keep up the hard work!
6:02 Remember the days when Dad just sat in the videos. Did not speak. Did not move. Just sat. How times have changed.

Personally, I'm a big fan of timelapse!
Good!

Stay strong man I feel your pain lol
When your dad jumped with the shovel I thought you were going to make it look like he jumped to the other side of the gate
Why dont you have trailer hitch on your tractors like we do in europe? Its much esier than using a bolt, its 2021 not 1930`s🤠
Like your videos your dad seems like a fun guy to work with🤠Good luck with rest of the calving.
Greetings from Watertown South Dakota!
Fine video 🤠😁👍
Brian the rock star ⭐️ .
Did you buy a seed buggy?? I can watch your video's of calving all night long. Picking up tips too. When do we get to see the nuts of the farm operation. Mom cooking!!!
I like time lapses.
Congratulations on the high speed planter !!
Thanks Ron!
Love ur dad
I am a long time subscriber. I enjoyed seeing the video you did where you did a tour of the calving barn. I would like to see how it is built. We are looking at putting up a new 1 for our herd. It looked like it was mostly steel
Thank you Wes!
That’s a better system then this ranch has
The joys of calving out heifers.
Never apologize for time lapses!
"Smells like skunk in here".. Best way to start the day. 😎
Awww new planter will be alright
Hope so!
Classic Dad
Never enough timelapse 😎
Did your dad have to visit a chiropractor after that guitar jump 😂😂😂
😂
Glad you didn't get charged by a mother cow. Looks like some of them were getting pretty worked up. Looks like Ellie gets a little too close for comfort to the tractor tires. Your dad seems to be more comfortable in front of the camera.
Yea she aways runs too close to the tractors
Nice video
If you ever have to fix equipment you should make a video about it
Your dads so funny
More Brian, be like More "Cow Bells"! Christopher Wakens SNL skit reference. Trending??
More cowbell skit is one of my favorites of Will Ferrell also get a kick out of his Harry Carey routine.
Magnifique impec
Like at what time do you let the bulls out with cows then take them to preg check?
What’s the history with the awesome bucks on the wall? Can you put that in a video sometime? And keep em coming!!! Awesome videos!!!
I can address that in a future video!
Cole, during a typical calving season out of say 100 births how many calves do you have to pull, how many still births occur and what is the mortality rate for live births? P.S. Brian is strangely more entertaining than one would expect, very interesting.
Hey there! Out of 100 I would say we have to pull 4-6 calves, 1-4 are born dead or pre-mature. In terms of mortality it depends on the weather. With the current temps outside I would be surprised if we lost any.
There’s that mud. I hate it!
