- A lot of odd jobs get done. We fixed an old bale feeder that needed some welding on, and greased some machines. Ran the drag through the yard with the ol' 544. Moved some pairs and shot at a pigeon.
Welcome to Sonne Farms! On this channel we showcase numerous jobs a Corn/Soybean/Beef producing operation takes on each day. Hop in the cab or sorting alley with Cole, Brian, or Jeff, and see how life really is for the people that help feed the US and the rest of the world. In addition to Corn, Soy, and Cattle, Sonne Farms puts up grass and alfalfa and sells pure bred Black Angus Bulls.

Just thought I'd watch an oldie but goodie. This is before I subscribed. I liked watching this old one, back before you had 100k subs. Have a good week!
I can tell he knows how to weld by the way it sounds sounds so sweet God bless
You two make a good workin couple
Whenever i had to work with my dad i would call it father daughter bonding time. I do miss him.
You are very hard worker
If I was a new guy on a farm and they told me my first job was to drag some mud around on a tractor I'd assume it was a made up job. Cool vid to see some stuff that you wouldn't think needs to get done.
Your dad adds humor to your videos. Thanks !
Bro your dad is the best
Great video. Outstanding farm. Cole you and your dad work so well together. Truly. He is very proud of you.
Cole get some 22 LR shotshell ammo and you can plug the nasty pigeons inside the barn without hurting the structure at all.
Shoot them when they are roosting.
Determined walk over to the gun cabinet; gets the shotgun & ammo “I hate pigeons!! Pigeons & rats they’re pissing me off” Lol 😂 I know the feeling I hate mice!! Note to self: never irritate Cole especially if he’s standing by the gun cabinet!!Lol😂😂😂😂. I Love ❤️ your videos you guys are great thanks 🙋♀️💗
Pliers work, screwdriver with a washer. Been there, done that. Thank you for the continued videos. Keep up the great work
Wish I could ride a unicycle... thanks fella's for a great video..good day.
There can never be enough brian, must be nice being able to feed cattle outside, here in ireland we have to feed cattle inside or keep them on a concrete pad and collect all their shit into a tank as slurry for the winter
Alot of work your out of breath farmers are busy all day looks like dad really needs you thank you for helping him I like to see that your a good kid don't get ran over by one of those big cows they would kill ya nice video and nice to see it's starting to dry up. See the next video
Most impressed with your dad moving bunks and not bending the crap out of them or the tines on the grapple!
Merry Christmas Cole, Brian and Jeff, love you guys from Columbia Missouri
Merry Christmas to you!!
Drag works great . Did not know about the Give away . Thats a sweet old tractor . Looks like it would be a great resto / refurbish and put her butt back to work tractor . Course Ive never ran a tractor with a cab and all these new fangled switchs and buttons . I am a lever man myself LOL . Im not a Fopp I am a Dapper Dan man .
I like these videos so much I want to subscribe a million times.
You are real farmers!!💪🏻 super fun to follow you while milking cows! 🐄
Cole, I am glad you worked the reference about the "giveaway" tractor into your video. That is a great "hook" and the more you use it the better. I would just say from past experience, never turn your back on a cow with a calf. Good cows - bad cows, take nothing for granted during calving season. The most "dependable" cow can surprise you. I know you are very well aware of that, but some viewers might not be. 812/2 likes at 3:30 EDST - 400 to 1 - extremely strong numbers.
Enjoyed the video as usual! I was one of the first so I deserve the tractor! It’s getting to be spring here in South Georgia it’s 80 today. Thanks for sharing
1:50 What are you talking about. That tire has another 10-15 seasons in it.
Haha
Lots of good action in this video! Old red tractor and shotguns!
Thanks for taking time out of your busy day to give us an update
I was as nervous as a cat crappin' razorblades until you got that hay wagon out of the shop. Nothing like coming back over the hill and seeing a big black spot where the shop used to be. Whew.
Cole, that was quite the shootin' display. I hate those pigeees also, don't have rats but feel your pain on the sky carp.
keep up the good work from lindstrom,mn
Lmfao when the part about the pigeons came up, I laughed so hard, that's was funny lol
You two a fantastic. Great to see you two get along so well.
Thanks Tracy!
Hey! It will hold!
Good video 😀👍🏾 nice to see more of Mr. Sonne . .
the mud struggle never ends! right?
Hey, those pigeons were far too good for ya!! I agree about the pooping issue.
Nice shot on that pigeon. Looks like me trying to shoot a teal🤣
I had two pigeons then all suddenly had six pigeons then I started getting rid of them when they got poop all over the shed come in in the morning the boss had used a 4 inch magnum shell inside the shed God bless
You have some great videos, the repair and build videos really show the people that dont farm that farmers dont fix everything with a checkbook, we use whatever we have on hand to repair or refurbish something to get more use out of it. Keep up the great work
that a good tractor for the drag
If it is all the same, winter chores are a whole lot more tolerable w/ a cab. July & August heat as well
Gotta love the spring time mud
Well......, bright side......, the weld job makes the tires look better Hehehehe
Thanks for taken is along good video Brian Cole Daniel from central Mississippi
Your dad quoting lizo 😂😂😂
Love the channel and the farm
Love your channel and content. Keep up the great work. P.S. I greatly appreciate all the camera positions.
Thanks so much Erica! These nice comments are what keep me going!
Liked the video I've used the old pliers trick myself many times
Looks warm Pop in short shirt sleeves 👍
Really laugh every time Brian uses pop icon liners lol.
Really good video you guys work well together thanks.
I'd love to have that tractor.
Try ask for taking the time out of y’all busy day really cool video great content
Thank you Dan!
You should add a Brian’s words of wisdom to a video like once a week lol he’s to funny to keep hidin
That drag isn’t to much for that tractor. You just need to go down a gear.
Love OG tractor
Nice video love the tractor
Farmers that don't have cattle are lucky sometime they need a lot of attention. Good Luck and i like the Video
Thank you!
Turn your heat up along increase the wire speed, might help. I noticed this video is 2 years old lmao 😂
lol thanks
LIKE THE VIDEO SO MUCH!!!!!!!!
You should learn how to shift gear on such a nice old Tractor - Shift gear on time, and you'll have a nice ride.
As a former farmer, I like to see new guys starting Farmings life. I enjoy your Cannel very much.
PS. Never weld beside a Flameable material like straw and/or hay.
When you killed the tractor pulling the drag it appeared you were trying to turn right but weren't using the foot brake for the right wheel. Turns lots better if you use the foot brake.
I thought I was hammering on the right break pretty good
Love your videos. keep it up!!!
tour dad makes these good
hey, pigeons want to live too!
I taught my self to weld by welding two pieces of metal together and throwing it across the shop as hard as I could. If they stayed together I figured it was a good weld. My welds are not pretty either. I am getting better at it. Wire Welding is almost like soldering. only hotter
hahaha
A 22cal air gun with a scope works on pigeons and wont hurt the tin stuff. Good vid. Peace
They love there mani petite
Keep er going 👍
To bad you it snowed 3 inches up here by Pierre smh! I was enjoying the warm weather lol
We got about 2 inches last night
Your dad is so funny :)
Nice try on pigeon ! You’ll get it next time !
Put an owl decoy in barns/shops
We have them in the shed, they land right next to um
@@SonneFarms LOL they became friends. Maybe move owl randomly and different owl decoys.
9:55 Pull 🪁 missed it by that much a night time search & destroy with a pellet gun
Found your video on how you got going in utube, answered a number of my questions. See SDSU extended spring break to March 20 so you'll be home to help with calving. Should we expect more videos while you're home? ;>). Also came across your post-tornado video and now I understand why your place layout looks a bit different now than it does on Google Earth (which is 2013 photo). Hope you and family are able to avoid the corona virus or at least it doesn't hit you too hard.
Yea I will be having more videos out! I haven't explained that in any of my videos but because of that tornado, and the insurance we had, we were able to rebuild newer and better looking buildings. Thank you, I hope you and your family are safe too!
Heh, have used screwdrivers in a pinch to move bale racks!
Love the sound of that old tractor.
Oops Mike beat me to it and answered my question. Universal term.
I'm positive that tractor isn't to small for the drag my rtv will pull that drag might try running a gear in the 3 to 5 mph range for the most of us that farm we use open top tractors all the time we just don't run hwy gear while turning thru a mud hole hahahahahahah but great for a video any ways
Thanks!
@@SonneFarms you really have come a long way for your channel I'm glad you haven't started putting goofy faces and what knot for your each video keep it going
Will it hold? Of course! Guess who?
You're making some great videos, Cole. Your dad stated he was just be "a circus monkey on a unicycle," but y'all have an outstanding farm and you two work well together. The farm seems humongous, how large is it?
We have an average sized farm
@@SonneFarms Sorry, I shouldn't have asked that question. An avgerage size farm in the US is about 450 acres.
Question ... why not aim that exhaust to the side? Or even forward? Good video! Thanks!
Sonne BADASs
When I was not sleeping yea I get that ha
I’m wondering why they wouldn’t clean that hay off of the feeder wagon before backing it into the shop for welding. Good way to start a fire in the shop.
It was really wet
Looks like you'll have plenty of time at home with this pandemic going on to make more videos
Yea I have another week of spring break, and I am guessing we will go online after that week is over
It seems like most of your farm is mud. Is that normal? It may be just how it looks on camera but is there any place for the cows to lay down that is not mud? Thanks for the video.
Its not normal, is is very wet
@@SonneFarms We have had the wettest winter on record here in South Carolina.
Thanks for the info.
They sell Owls made of plastic that are life like to put in buildings for critters like pigeons...you may have to Google them or try Tractor supply...they work great ... pigeons are eaten by 🦉....lol..
We now have three of them in the shed!
Like Lizzo would say. 😂😂
And yet up here any night not under -15c is low risk to babies outside in corals, lol.
Some years we are putting them inside to calf because of the temperature, this year it has more to do with the mud.
My grandson kills pigeons for farmers all the time, he stays pretty busy at it.
It's a good idea putting your. Cattle in your field and letting them poo right in the fields!!
Heh! Thought you were too young to know who He-man is!
I really have no idea who it is
I knew you had one of those coleman powermate air compressors, I heard that hammering in one of your video's in the background ! Not sure how you like it ,but I wish I would have spent the extra monet on a nice two stage . But you guys need a portable one ?
A portable would be nice to have
Cole I've been watching your channel for 9 months. I may have missed this, but how many Acers are you farming, and ball park, how many head of cattle? Thanks, keep up the Great work.
Howdy, John. We don't really like to share the number of acres we farm, but we are planning on calving 200+ cow/heifers, and we have around 400-500 feeders I would say
How many cows do you have?
You are the best
Ask your dad if he knows Dean Fredrickson from Poet. He used to be a manager at out local Cargill elevator.
What pattern do you use when you weld?
here in Brazil we have no calves to buy, the demand is great 'the feedlot is running Cattle
Come over to ireland, you'll find plenty of friesen bull calves that are for a euro each, very small but hard to lose money on them at a euro

Good video,I have a question for both you and your dad, what is your least favorite and most favorite job to do on the farm?
Least favorite, tagging calves when the mother is mean. Most favorite, doing some tillage I suppose haha, easy job
@@SonneFarms My most favorite is tagging a calf with a mean mother. Least favorite is doing tillage.
Love international
You should watch airgun evolution and how he gets rid of pigeons.
That dog is constantly muddy
I know! She doesn't learn. I'm pretty sure she spends every night licking herself clean and then within the first 10 minutes of being outside in the morning she gets covered in mud
Cole, why didn't ya clean off the feed wagon and give it a thoroughly look over since ya already got it in shop and welder out.
not enough hours in the day the bale feeder needed hay in it
👍💯❣
