    wow. Thank you so much. Trying to decide on a grass seed. Everybody keeps say fescue is best for my area but when I google, it always looks like this, a medium green shade when I'd much prefer a deeper jade green. *Healthy* fescue is fine.
    (and yep, sure do wish I could afford a lawn care service but just can't swing it on my budget. You sound like you know your stuff, I'd hire you in a heartbeat if I could afford it, I HATE dealing with the lawn!)

      You follow this guy and maybe some others you can do it yourself. No service needed, unless you just don't want to or can't for some reason. What are you doing to try to get your desired darker green grass?

      Tall fescue is horrible. Grows 3 times faster then other grasses.

    Thanks for that video. Apparently my blade needs to be replaced because mine looks like that. I sharpened it but I have a neighbor that is too lazy to mow his weed infested Wasteland so I do it because I can't stand looking at it and constantly hit rocks. Someday I'm going to dump vegetation killer on the crap

      Same situation for me and my next door neighbor 😀. They finally treated the weeds a few weeks ago so it's looking much better.

      @@tonypeters3320 The sharp blade helps, but last year I finally figured out what was wrong. I was over watering it severely. I ripped out a section that looked terrible and put some new sod down. When I looked at the section I ripped out the roots were like a tangled massacre. I watered too much, roots didn't have to go deep for water and just intertwined.

      @elizabethhennessey4257 Před 3 lety +1

      Lizard me,
      I used to work as a landscaper, and sadly, ended up leaving the field because I couldn't stand how many of my coworkers and actually, other companies in my area as well, knew absolutely zero about plant health or what different things were, how to treat them correctly, how to prune and care for the plants correctly, or how to do anything that wasn't just spraying a massive amount of chemical. No, founding my own company isn't an option, because the people in my area are so used to the prices set by the nim-wits, that an appropriate price for someone that actually knew what they were talking about and doing, would be too high for what this area expects.

    I mixed some of Ryan Knorr’s TTF seed in the fall on my ryegrass lawn and now regretting it.
    It was supposed to be a dark green variety, but not even close! It looks all patchy with large light green patches.
    Trying now to figure out how to over seed again now this spring with my Lesco rye and fix the ugly.
    I guess it should have been blended with my other seed with just a small amount. I know it now…

      @KDlGG Před měsícem

      Tall fescue is still a bunching grass, if you’re seeing large light green I highly doubt it’s TTTF, seems more like poa

  • @TennTitans
    @TennTitans Před 2 lety

    Needs a growth regulator and keep it mowed at 3 to 3.5 inches and hit it with some pgf complete and it will come back around and and be dark green again. Pgf complete is about the best fert there is out there. Lots of iron and humic acid in it.

      DanPrinMan Did you see that house? They pay to have it mowed. I sharpened blades everyday when I worked for a service. We figured every mower that was used received from 6 to 8 weeks of mow time if used by a homeowner in just one day. Sharp blades let the mower run cooler and you have to put a nice cut on the yard ;)
