That Verstappen and Norris moment had been the talk of the town ever since it happened last Sunday, but now for the first time, an actual FIA employee and active steward during the race has talked about it. But there is something strange about it, the drivers seem to have left it behind and ruled it out as a racing incident, they’re teams perhaps wouldn’t go that far, looking at you McLaren.

I think there is agreement the stewards can act like idiots. There is not agreement on bias, since they are not biased when their makers decisions help their favorite driver.
Unfortunately this steward proves his bias against Max by clearly stating his subjective perception of MAx determines how to rule. This steward might want to look up Max and Hamilton's collision statistics and explain why that does not color his perception of Hamilton.

The stewardship of F1 is now positively broken.
Horner pointing out MV won’t change his driving style, but why is he not punished in a way that forces him to change both his overly aggressive style and his overall attitude to being passed on track.

    • @steve11211
      @steve11211 Před 2 dny +7

Totally agree, the FIA should have stepped in when he was moving under braking, they should though now say well he got a 10 sec penalty for causing a collision but should also now get a 10 place grid penalty for moving under braking.. The rules are clear but MV got no punishment for moving under braking which lead to the crash so unless the FIA get tough on MV then he will continue... Although it was great that finally we had a race that was not dominated by the same driver, we were deprived of a good battle by the incident.. Max cannot race, he is extremely quick but he can't race and the FIA need to be tougher so drivers like Max know that its unacceptable, even after he got the puncture he tried to run Lando off the road, that was really appauling and dirty driving..

The simple reason is your talking nonsens, Max didn't do anything wrong!!... First of all, Max was the one who was avoiding a collision on many accasions in two consecutive GP's.. Lando was the one was overly aggresive and drove like frustrated little schoolboy and pushed Max in to the grass at the start in Barcelona, and Max was only laughing about afterward.. In Austria, Lando almost collected Max twice because of his ovely aggresive and to late dive bombing.. And at last, the only thing Max did, was approuching his corner in a straight line in a slight angle.. And nowhere in the regulatoins is written that you can't aprrouch a corner in a angle..And in the published telemenrty's of both drivers is showing that Max wasn't moving under his breaking as he said immediately after the race.. Only those baised so called British F1 experts were trying everyting to give the blame to Max.. What he actually was doing was that Max braked much later than Norris at that moment, so on the moment Norris was already on his brakes, Max was still approuching his corner in a straight line in an angle,, There was absolutely no sudden movement or any aggresive reaction on his steering wheel what so ever on Max his onboards.. Even that freaking idiot and baised and hypocritical Johnny Herbert who served as steward that weekend, said in an interview after the race, there was actually not a single proof on Max his onboards that showed any kind of aggressive or sudden movement towards Norris his racing line or moving while he was breaking.. The only reason why the stewards handed Max a 10 seconds penalty was, because that slime bag Herbert and the other stewards , thought that they found Max very intimidating towards Norris, and that the actual reason why they punished Max..But where the f*ck in the entire regulatios in written anything about intimidating.. So that pathetic baised Herbert with his fellow stewards made their own rule out of nothing.. Max was on the inside of the racing line of his corner, so why should Max give up his position.. All that Norris had to do was braking a little bit earlier turn in the corner and get in Max his tail with his DRS and overtook Max before the next corner.. But instead he screw up his own race when he drove to the pits like a frustrated maniak and completly destroying his own car and had to retired his race.. Ans again Max was relative calm and drove very sow to the pits for new tires and finished his race and extended his lead in both the standing.. And most important, Norris would never ever had won that race because of his penalty for track limits

What a load of nonsense. By the time you reach F1, after hundreds of races in other categories, you surely know that no competitor is your friend on the track. This is not the Special Olympics. Bend the rules, break the rules, f*ck the rules, but don't deliberately endanger anyone (unless you're a psycho): in motor racing the object is to win. It's not a romantic fantasy; the cruel reality is that where there is money and competition involved, nice guys usually lose. F1 is the pinnacle of this combination of ambition and greed. Show me just ONE F1 champion who, although extremely talented and deeply admired, was not actually a prick. I have followed F1 closely since 1970, did motorsport for 6 years. Go figure.

You are correct that it it is in Max's style to be aggressive but when they can conflict with the rules. Herbert made a good point, sometimes drivers can bully the opponents, they are prepared to crash and their opponents arent , so the other driver backs off and it becomes an actual strategy for the ruthless one. Its a point that makes important that you have to be ruthless when dealing with a ruthless opponent, if a crash happens then its the one who tried to bully's fault, that is the only real way to counter the intimidation tactics.
If Norris had backed off and not challenged Max by breaking late it wouldve only compounded Maxs bully tactics. Im not saying Max is wrong to do so it is essentially like going for a gap to overtake when there isnt much of one but when you do the opponent might back off and then it looks like a good move, its all about expecting the other driver to yield first and its all about trying to assert the dominance.
Calling the bluff of the aggressive tactic will turn it from being a fair strategy into being a stupid foul, if this happens enough Max will find a better way to deal with other drivers who are challenging his position instead of yield or crash.
He couldve still had 5 second penalty for moving under braking, another 5 for not giving the place back to Lando after going off the track, 10 for the collision which was intentional, a bully tactic gone wrong and another 10 for dangerous driving with an unsafe car (forcing Lando onto the grass after the incident)
The stewards were quite lenient to Max and it couldve been far worse, Schumacher got disqualified for the entire year for a similar incident

Max is the best way better than Lewis. He is racing a car that if you look at Perez is finishing out of the top 3. It’s only max Verstappens great driving that has the red bull on top. He made the race exciting and let’s face it formula one has been a bit boring. It’s max that makes it awsome. Winning races from out of the top 10 at the start. No one does that. He does though he is cold and determined he wants to win he is a machine when it comes to racing. No emotions no crying over split second decisions he might get pissed later especially when he had a 7 second lead and the pit crew let him down though it wasn’t really their fault the wheel nut was a bit compromised but still he does his bit by getting ahead so he expects the pit crew to back him as you win and lose as a team. If they lose Max from formula one I’ll not watch it again as he is one of the only reasons I watch. I do love Daniel and I thought he had the seat in the other red bull next year and that’s why he took the lesser car to drive for them but now they are keeping Perez who is useless and I think that’s let Daniel Riccardo down and he is not as committed in his racing as what has he got to push for. He wanted one more season in that car to show he still has it and they fuked him over. I know Daniel would be putting the other red bull up on the podium unlike Perez. Daniel is a great asset to formula one but they will lose him and that means no character in the whole field as all the other drivers are just boring. I’m an Aussie and piastri is a let down because most Aussies are outspoken larrikins. Like Daniel but piastri is boring like the rest of the field.

Max “The Kamikaze” Verstappen is at it once more- crashing into opponents when he knows his race is over. The reason Max has 2 championships is because Checo is mediocre; the other championship Max has couldn’t be won on the track even though Checo helped Max close the gap, had to be given to him by Masi. He’s the GOAT his fans write as if it is easy to put 8 championship winning campaigns.
Max is complete garbage as driver!

@@rensvanderploeg1945 Feelings?- LOL, what I wrote about Max, that he is garbage is an opinion not a feeling. The rest of my post were facts not feelings- “but once you become an adult, I know you will get over it”

The British press is truly sickening. Sooooo horribly biased against anyone who is not British. Already for years. I have cancelled my Sky Sports subscription. I’m done with this crap.

if it happened with any driver and pamperham in norris place or maxes place, doesnt matter, the one who is not pampershitham would get grid penalty.
