After the collision I don't believe for a second Max intentionally tried to push Lando onto the grass. They both ran wide in turn 3 and Max new he had a puncture, so when he rejoined the track out of the turn he moved over to the right hand side of the track to get off the racing line in a crippled car (as he should) because there were other cars coming up behind them at full racing speed. I think it was just unfortunate that Lando at that exact moment made a move to pass him on the right hand side as well.
Brian and Matt never drove competitivley in their life. This brit hype make me sick. See Austria 2023 with Sainz defending to Max in the same corner after first pit stop. Max avoided the collision as Sainz push him wide (more than what Max did last week)and than took the interior and did a clean overtake. Even in a normal car you have to steer while applying the brakes. Is up to driver to define the steer line. This is the most nonsense discussion I've heared for a long time now. Lando and Stella need to stop whinging and focus on driving...
You can also steer in/turn the wheel before applying the brakes, or like turn the car slightly before braking. This will make you brake in a straight line while still moving to the left of the track (for example).
Yes finally someone says what I've been posting!! YOU ARE CORRECT that was real driving not bitchin and crying and MAX go tthat done clean and smart good racing not bitching "where is the FIA" so stupid! THX @catalincucu686
Why is it "brit hype"? None of the 3 guys here are Brits...
Peter Windsor has the best take on that racing incident, by far.
Always goat
agreed.
And Jenson and Jeremy Clarkson too rest everyone is extra.
Eddie Jordan on David Coulthard podcast
Like you Guenther, I am an old git, seen it all before in F1, Austria (Max/Lando) was no big deal compared to hundreds of incidents in the past. It is society that has changed, everyone explodes at room temperature !
and what about the toxic britsh F1 media, who had the hitpieces allready written.
@@erikvermolen8371 again nothing new mate, the media is toxic, what a surprise 🤣
@@mandst5466 yeah offcourse I recognize that, and I like to read different media from allover. And there is no one as toxic and biased as the british, not even close!
@@erikvermolen8371US media is at least as bad if not worse....

The pit stop is the only reason that was a race I don't know how you can say that was Landos race max would of won by at least 5 sec if it wasn't for the bad pit stop.
Plus lando had track limits b4 the contact .
no he wouldnt lol. He lost like 3-4 seconds? Mclaren has been blisteringly fast at low fuel compared to the redbull and max was on used tires as well compared to norris on fresh. You should check laptimes for fresh tires vs. those who had already seen a couple of laps (especially a quali lap). Fresh tires will easily gain you 3-4 seconds within the first 2 laps and afterwards they fall off a lot and likely are just 2-3 10th faster. And its not like every Mclaren pitstop that race was a
@@LunnarisLP Lando was less than 2 seconds behind after the pit stop and caught up partly due to traffic. DRS did the rest. Yes Lando had the faster car but Max was eeking out as much as he could on every lap and if the gap had remained at 6 or 7 seconds, it would have been really tough for Lando to catch up.
Guenther thinking like a winner and an F1 fan. I don't want to see boring races with no controversy. If there would be no controversy in football, who would watch football, let alone pay millions in salaries the sport can only afford because of the amount of fans they've got.
So much drama about an incident, some people might die until the end of the season because the seriousness people that are not affected at all bring to a slammer is concerning. I don't want to see Max fans going after Lando if the roles would be reversed.
Lando cut off his nose to spite his face! It all blew up when he put himself out of the race! And now, he’s crying like a baby!
Why are you watching this podcast? I am curious. Guenther is the voice of reason/experience/sanity. I don’t think that he would say that Lando cried “like a baby”. I think that Guenther (with all of his experience) would offer a fairer perspective, yet so many “fans” (with no experience) are full of misery. Why is Guenther so measured/fair in his response?
@@clairdillon1762 Huh? 😂🤯🙄
@@DebbiSmithDC So seriously, “cute” emojis aside, why are you watching this podcast? Norris is probably old enough to be your kid. He is a young man who is improving his craft as a F1 driver yet you are ploughing into him. If any outsider criticized your son or your daughter as they are learning on the job (if you will), what would you think of the critic? Seriously. Your kid would have the luxury of learning on the job without having a global audience attacking him/her. They would be allowed to make their mistakes in private and to grow from the experience. It is odd that public figures such as Lando, Max, Lewis are so scrutinized and demonized by the “public”. Is this the true sport, i.e. attacking a public figure on social media? It seems so primitive.
You can cut it out now Deb. The Boss says you're never coming back. Thanks for the stimulation, but once is enough.
@@clairdillon1762 Good news-I don’t have kids and I quit reading your word salad after you said something about his and my ages! So, boo hoo to you!
Didn't think Lando fans would be more annoying and delusional then team LH
and there is one common denominator: egged on by the toxic biased british media
Maybe they're the same people🤔
teamlh aka max haters definitely joined the hate bandwagon of norris fangirls
Im so glad i still get to listen to Guenther. The only thing better than listening to his opinions on a podcast would be for him to be a commentator during the races.
Y'all covered some ground here, and I'd like to put my own thoughts on the table for a lot of it. But something Guenther just stated is a point I had arrived at after hearing some other commentary about the race, and that is the placement of the gravel straps relative to the race course. Why give enough width to the curb to allow violations without actually encountering the gravel pit? As Guenther stated, at this track make the gravel pits close enough to the race course to provide the drivers the visual clue of just how far they can drift from the course.
You guys have such a great chemistry! I love when you have guests on 😊
Guenther hosts Vankah Hours with us!!! New eps drop the Thursday after race weekends!! ❤
Günther, only speaks facts 👍👏
And won't let them persuade to change 👏👏
Nice to hear Gunther, he is missed!
Keep up the great content guys. This is really fun!
Guenther!!!!!!❤❤❤❤❤
The questions these guys asked clearly show they come from a narrative. In their mind they've concluded all there is to f1. I get weary of auch narratives. If Lando himself said that after cooling down the reaction was over the top but there was little contact. Good thing Guenther pushes back.
This is what I was about to say!!! Trying to say so many weird things like, "surely you would care of Oscar has a beer with Checo," and then being shocked when Guenther doesn't care. Or trying to argue about moving under braking. Guenther knows better than you, so stop trying to push him into your narrative and actually let him him speak wisdom on the matter. Like why even invite him on when all you ask are leading questions. 🙄 I only watched this for Guenther's insight and but I don't think I could watch any other videos.
@@NelTheWicked I totally felt the same way... The leading questions were irritating. It's actually bad interviewing
Guenther, has awesome knowledge and points. Presenters should try commenting on video games as they don't bother taking in what Guenther has to say. You guys love the sound of your own voice. Ease off the Red Bulls boys
Jebus, you guys bring the content!
I think all fans regret not having Gunther in the F1 scene anymore. But surelly, having him on a weekly podcast is the next best thing!
Cant wait for the next one lads :D
First time on here and I thought it was a lot of fun and informative. See you next time.
No moving under braking is not a rule. You can't endanger the opposition. That is the rule.
There is NO rule stating you CAN'T MOVE UNDER BRAKING!!!!!!!
Guenther is a legend
Video quality is on point boys keep this shit up!!

You guys have very good questions for Guenther, and we appreciate you all! Great content! Subscribed!
Please never stop this podcast!!!!!
If the FIA gave Lando the oenalty sooner.. it may have changed the race.. but it felt like the FIA deliberately waited to see.if they could use it to create more drama with it.
You should ask Guenther about the advantage that a low weight driver like Tsunoda gives to a team in comparison to a guy like Russel that is tall and has a weight off more at least 20 kilos. That surely makes a diference on car performance.
It doesn't, because there's a minimum weight limit (80 kg I believe) if a driver is under they have to add weight to the car
@@christiandenbutter5597 The weight does not, but the physical dimensions required for driver, actually do make a difference. Just a reminder how silly tall George looked in Merc when he subbed for Lewis (google photos from that race, he sticks out of the car so prominently), he also had to wear a size smaller shoes in order to fit into the foot well of that car.
You guys ask such great questions, does G provide any special insight?
It would help if you guys let the guest finish his / her sentence and not interrupt them.
loving the podcast
No moving under braking just sounds stupid. It's racing, if you are good enough to brake hard and move with control...that's just driving. I don't get it.
I not know how this ever came to be but it’s gold. I guess this is why they say shoot your shot. Never would have thought this was possible
Hey guys you popped up a while ago and I’ve watched a few episodes and I love Gunther he’s just like me. I’m limited on time but keep Gunther I’ll keep watching 👀🧐💯👍🏼🤫🤯💥🤐
Great show 👍
Love waking up to thisssss!!! 🎉
I'm a simple man: Gunther speaks, I listen.
Favorite F1 podcast!
Aston didn’t even start strong and got worse out in Q1 consistently. I wouldn’t work for Lawrence. Fernando who’s gonna tell Fernando what to do. But listening to what he says about the car 👀🧐🤫
A conversation between anglo-saxon Drive to Survive fans and an actual old school F1 racing guy. F1 is racing, not a Netflix drama show!!
39:30 So Adrian Newey's big secret is his aura 🗿
do these two know anything about racing?? some of their questions my goshh
Only here for Gunther but these guys are so loud & annoying!
For God sake Gunther is a legend on his own let the guy speak you guys keep interrupting with nonsense and he has something wise to say and you just and clobber him with crazy questions he has not yet answered so please let him talk feely and so us the listeners can enjoy the conversation!!Stop bombarding him and let him finish his sentence! Than you! 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
Günther still having so many opinions but no job in F1 sadge
Come on man, think guys. Guenther ( or any Principal ) doesn’t need to need what they are doing or what is best for the car, they are the experts and that’s why they have the job. Guenther job is to make them work together and make a space ship 🚀
Great content! But I recomend investing in some ilumination equipment xD
And mic stands... 😂
This isn't where they usually film. They're in the UK for Silverstone.

Gunther takes on George not knowing he can win the race is the funniest thing i've heard in a long time
Soooooo my coworkers actually call me G-Unit at work 😅
Guenther is one of the reasons F1 is very interesting!👍
isn't the moving under braking rule gone? now it's something about driving "erratically" among other things, i think
Guenther is the GOAT
Big fan from Botswana 🇧🇼
Trail braking is essential to motor racing. And that’s literally ‘moving under braking’. What the rule is referring is initial straight line braking. But then the brake is feathered slowly off while steering and even while accelerating.
So when Gunther says ‘but when’ he is articulating how difficult it is to pick the precise moment for each driver when the feathering is feathering and not just loss of traction and recovery.
Does Max feather less and therefore move sooner? Or later? We know he moves just BEFORE braking, when others are braking but he isn’t. That’s allowed by the rules.
So what’s being suggested is all drivers brake in the same way. So how do they create an advantage and pass?
Stroll clearly moves while under the initial hard press phase. While Alonzo moves before he applies the brake and also while trail braking.
Should he face the same penalty as Stroll?
Charles can anticipate Max’s move and use it to gain advantage. Lando cannot. Yet. Should Lando gain an advantage by penalizing Max because Lando is less competent?why are we only talking about Max and not Ocon, Alonzo, Lewis, K-Mag, Sainz and Russell? They all run their rivals wide.
So how DO you regulate braking? Because then you’re regulating driving and then it’s a video game.
We have called him Pappa Gunther ever since season1. When Haas messed up: " oooooooh! Pappa Gunther is gonna be pissed!! Gene! Gene! These fucking guys!
You guys are ‘Who’s the hard Team Principle’ love it keep up the good work. I’m English live in Melbourne, In Australia since’96 Dec 10th came for 21st Birthday. That’s my share. Just thought we’d get to know each other cause I gotta come back Seriously Enjoyable don’t stop being ‘YouGuys’ 🤣🤪💯👍🏼
Calling Guenther G-Unit is great but I was born in the late 80s 🤷♂️
Those points might matter more in the constructor championship?

I believe it was Oliver Wendell Holmes who had the “I know it when I see it” definition of pornography.
There is no explicit rule that prohibits moving under braking
I used to say more cowbell. Now I say more Guenther.

Guenther Steiner the only team boss i still love even tho hes not a team boss anymore. never change G-Stein
Guyz don't seem to understand Gunter is very serious.

Max did not move under braking. He moved during coast&recharging. Which can be seen by the flashing lights on the rear wing.
Wanker of the week: Red Bull pit crew who closed Lando's gap.
Also listen to what Jenson Button said
Max did nothing wrong !!!

Did you expect Brundle? That’s the show
Its their show weirdo, gunther wanted to do the show with them you dont get this show without them.
Moving under breaking isn't a rule. It implemented in 2016 and done away with in 2017 after driver and team complaints. They adopted a more vague erratic/dangerous driving rule so stewards could look at each incident separately. So unless, the move under braking is determined to be dangerous and erratic, its not against the rules.
IMO nobody said Max or Lando did a stuipd/silly move so we should be grateful for the racing incident. There happen way too few surprises on the track. Even both drivers said it was fair and square with unlucky punctures. Way different compared to the Senna Prost crash which was a foul and not racing.
imo it would not have mattered who is behind max in that situation... this guy races all day long, online & offline... he is a competitive ultralist like idk jordan
Very simple, the car on the inside of the corner has the right of way-
I need you guys saying some outlandish shit and making Gunther react to it
love yall
The only rule the FIA needs to implement is banning DTS fans from starting podcasts and talking nonsense 😂
Have Gunther react to memes
Lando has no chance of winning the championship stop it.. max exists and he'll finish top 2 every race with no crashes
Jos Verstappen needs to pull his Head in and Mind his Bloody own Business as far as the Drama with Christian Horners predicament is concerned !
Look how better has Haas has become without his useless leadership
Horner doesnt care what fucking Perez does
Matt needs to stop interrupting Guenther. He asks questions and then continues to talk over, even yelling louder, when Guenther attempts to answer.
so, where is max supposed to drive with his puncture? On the racing line? in the middle of the road or as far away from the racing lines, IE out of the way of fast approaching cars. Wow, some ignorant horse shit from you lot
The sheer ignorance of this podcast is hilarious 😂 keep up the good work??
"You are my best friend here and you're not letting me through to win the race. It's over! No more Lego together"
RB should start working towards replacing Checo with Lawson or they will lose him to Mercedes as 2nd driver for George. Albon can score well too with Max or with Mercedes. We'll see but I think Mercedes will steal Lawson
The loosers podcast 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
Dodgy math
How do two guys, who clearly know nothing about formula 1, get to have a sit down with Gunther….
What do you mean it was Lando's day??? Max was literally winning that race by 7 seconds if not for the botched pitstop. You people are so weird. I just knew you two DTS fans would blindly jump on the Max Verstappen hate train like the rest of the sheep did. Love how silly all of you look now that the drivers have basically all backed Max saying it was just tough racing, with some guys even thinking the penalty wasn't necessary. Btw, y'all talk about 2021 being the greatest season ever, but then when you get the tiniest whiff of the same (and I mean tiniest) you act like this. Just stick to DTS please.
This guy on the right ..... Like like like like like like like like like like like 🙄🙄🙄🙄
Love Guenther’s take. They tried their best to put the blame on Max but he didn’t budge. You guys are sad! You can hate a driver but don’t push an expert to agree with you lol
I wouldn't expect anything less from Max either. I mean if you take a closer look at the best champions in any sport, they all have killer instincts. As much as I don't like George Whatshisname, he has that attitude.. Carlos Saintz and Charles Leclerc has it too. Heck, Lewis Hamilton never lost it, and as Guenther mentioned, Alonzo will always be Alonzo. A lot of F1 greats aren't exactly saints, they're ruthless! If they can get away from whatever it takes, then good on them. Go over the list of F1 champions, none of them are champions because they were nice. They're built different..
Lando got raced just like everybody else, this wasn't anything special.
