Exploring A 1 1/2 OZ Per Tone Mine, In Gold Hill Oregon.

- In this video we explore a mine, in the Gold Hill mining district. With a little bit of research I managed to locate this mine as well as find it on the topographic map. This mine dates back to 1890 producing a decent amount of gold ranging from pocket gold to 1 1/2 oz per ton.

That is so cool! Are you talking Gold Hill, Oregon? I grew up in Sam's Valley on old Sam's Valley Rd and went to Gold Hill a couple times a week for groceries or to play in the Rogue River. 29 years I was there. Lived in Shady Cove at birth, moved to Central point as a young girl and then to Gold Hill. Absolutely love it there👍 Moved to Arizona 22 years ago and love the desert here. I'm glad I found your channel. It's a piece of history and great memories for me🤙 Loved the spooky tiny cave exploration💯

I have a claim with mine down in the Gold Hill area.this summer is going to be a lot of fun down there. Great video thanks for sharing.
I've been all over that hill and there are pits and pits everywhere. I do want to warn you that there is a gold mine located upstream from the big bend in the river. The mine goes in bout 800 ft. I was warned by one of the growers that I shouldn't go up there or risk getting shot.

Do you know anything about the gold mine at the top of the hill on Savage Rd? There is a switch back road up to it.
I actually do not. I'm going to have to look into that one. My mining partner probably knows about it thanks for the info!
