    I don’t know how many other viewers are equally comfortable using both a Mac and a Windows PC (I used to do soup-to-nuts tech support for both), but it always amuses me to see what a big deal Mac users make of having to even be in the same room with a PC.

    I need to learn these things to use my computers well, but it is beyond irritating to be insulted for being a PC user multiple times during the tute, I'll go elsewhere to finish this lesson

      You might find the tutorial on Tobias' site helpful: www.tobias-erichsen.de/software/rtpmidi/rtpmidi-tutorial.html

    Thanks! Using the XM to connect 2 Win 11 PCs together along with a midi keyboard controller and drum pad controller. Works flawlessly.
    The drum controller is an Akai MPD32. This device has stop, play, and record buttons which sync super well with both PCs. They both respond instantly to the transport controls on the MPD. The XM is a God send!

    @fromstudiotostage Hi and first of all thanks (!) for showing these steps. I'm planning this to go when a new rtp Controller is ariving to me here. One question I still try to figure out is what to do when the ethernet jack is in use by the one cable of the router. Could one just connect the controller's ethernet cable to the router and then go to the PC or has one to decide (Internet/Cotroller). You understand my problem? Greetings 👋

    Absolutely brilliant tutorial. After sifting through dozens of videos, this one got me connected between my Mac and PC. Keep up the great work @fromstudiotostage

    New sub here! Love your videos! I'm trying to share an Ableton project between 2 Windows PC's using this rtpMidi app. I'm able to connect both machines on my network as you have shown here in the video, but I don't understand how to get them to share an Ableton session after this connection is established. To clarify, is there is a "master" PC or are you supposed to route one to the other via the midi drop down menus in rtpMidi? Did I miss something on this video? Sorry for the dumb questions! Thanks for your time!

    Oops, after downloaded and installed what you said in the video, I still don't know how to use it. I copied in usb flash drive, but it won't work. I'm currently looking for answer to load up EZ drum form my PC to Work On Logic using Mac. Any advice would be appreciated. Thank you. ❤

    I have installed the rtpMIDI software in my 2 Windows PC computers. They recognize each other in the app when activated. But I can't get Sonar in one computer, my DAW in both, to recognize other computer for input.

  • @lanceadrielvillagracia2052

    Hello! Love your stuff! I would like to ask if this is possible between mac and windows computers. Thanks!

    Thanks so much for the tutorial and the ProPresenter Cues.
    Using rtpMidi to run ProPresenter and Studio One 5, Laptops over LAN but for some reason, ProPresenter misses a few slides and doesn't select the Playlist Item despite having all the cues properly placed. Happens only for a few songs. Any reason why that's happening? Would appreciate your help.

    • @fromstudiotostage
      @fromstudiotostage  Před 9 měsíci

      connect them all via a network switch. If it doesn't show up, it's an issues with IP or firewall

    Liked the tutorial except one thing - bashing Windows is not constructive, nor is it factual; typically people who bash Windows are those who don't understand it. It's a "coke vs. pepsi" thing now, but that's just my $0.02.

    OK. You don't like Windows. There are many of us who feel the same about the over-priced, increasingly irrepairable boxes that are Macs.
