    Reasons why we hate the Hyundai i20 N-line || Gotta improve Hyundai || Part 1 of 2
    The i20 has many.. many features which will impress you to shortlist the car. But, these are the few niggles which we felt. Hyundai's gotta improve on safety and quality of their cars and can't cut corners/cost for the INDIAN market.

    I have bought my i20 n line n8 Dct, I’m absolutely happy with it ! I remapped it in 2 months to stage 1 and I’m very happy with the car got the tires changed to Michelin sport 4, it’s a car which does makes presence on the road when it passes by ! So it does justify the price! I guess some people look for points just cause their pockets aren’t that deep enough a car enthusiast will understand it’s true value !

      Blame Hyundai. You are having to go get it remapped , losing warranty, rather than actually having a decent enough engine from factory. If it’s for the “enthusiast” then I’m sure those people won’t mind paying extra for a better engine with better performance at least. This n line is a cosmetic surgery. I wish Hyundai would treat Indian markets with more options.

    • @vanwilderx2927
      @vanwilderx2927 Před rokem +2

      Well for me looks matter, and handling of the car more than justifies it's price, adding to that, the experience that I get in nline is unlike any other hatchback(even sedans and compact SUVs).. yeah, maybe I won't win drag races, but tbh, i am more than happy with the satisfaction this car provides..
      The interior is miles ahead of the completion, the connected car features are more than just useful, after altroz, this is the best looking hatch... So it is highly justified in its price.

  • @abhishekh2649
    @abhishekh2649 Před 2 lety +6

    It seems like you both are haters of hyundai pointing almost all negatives and saying we need to wait for positives🤣.........

    Take example of Altroz,
    Do u know Altroz has only body......engine is laggy (but Nline 0 to 100 in 9.9 sec-not for any hatchbacks now except discontinued models POLO GT and PUNTO ABARTH) ,vibrating and high noise producing. And poor cabin insulation so that engine sound can be heard inside cabin compared to other cars of the same segments.
    And you said about safety ….This i20 is tested with 2 airbags only. full option has 6 airbags which can increase passenger safety.
    if we add child and adult occupant scores of i20 & altroz
    ( i20- 45.73/66
    )
    ( Altroz- 45.13/66
    )
    both are almost similar
    Note: ncap is tested at 64km/hr.It is not necessary that our car at 64km/hr speed all the time (sometimes opposite driver carelessness can also cause accidents) .Every car (even 5 star rated) at high speed and careless driving cause mishaps. So whether the car is 0/1/2/3/4 or 5 rated, speed must be limited for safe journey. Even Volvo at 90 km/hr cannot save lifes.
    #drive safe
    14 lakhs for nline is only because of its features. Can you mention any ther cars now in Indian market with much features than i20 asta(O) or Nline n8 DCT????? Answer is no.
    Premium means not only putting some more iron and steel in cars (TATA Altroz) for inreasing safety, but also include features too. Even top model of 5 star rated Altroz DCA lack
    1.Sunroof
    2.Paddle shifters
    3.All disc brakes
    4.Twin mufflers
    5.10.25 inch screen...........so on
    If any one buying a normal hatch and doing all these things aftermarket, definitely it goes upto 14L. Nline is providing all these in stock condition and u are blaming for 14 lakhs.....

    Correction to the host: venue has less cabin space then nline i 20. I 20 has larger wheelbase too. Dimension wise venue is just taller with higher ground clearance and slightly larger boot. Comfort wise and stability wise i 20 is far better . Also this N8 comes with 4 disk brakes and 6 airbags improving the safety.
    Altroz is the only 5 star rated hatchback in India. But again it comes with only 2 airbags in top varient.
    Don't forget i 20 has sunroof as well. It has more features than any other hatchback and many compact suv.
    Just to clarify venue is not higher segment then i20 . Both are sub 4 meter B2 segment cars.

    @aashishrana Před 2 lety +10

    While genuine, I feel there's quite a bit of nitpicking here. I have a Dct n8 and absolutely happy with it and I feel the premium price is justified - rear disc brakes, paddle shifters, gas charged stiffer suspension, esc/abs/hill assist, 6 airbags, led and cornering lights, voice activated sunroof, integrated maps, 6.1 Bose sound system and a great sounding exhaust and more - this car is fully loaded with tech that works intelligently. It takes a while to get used the initial lag but over 2k rpm this car is a hoot to drive, and the ride and handling is superb if you upgrade the tyres and use xp95 . 3 adults can comfortably sit in the rear seats too. Sure the polo beats it in outright performance marginally, and robust build quality but that's about it for a decade old car. Any comparison done should be in the warm/hot hatch category and while Altroz looks nice, it just doesn't offer this kind of an overall package.
    Look forward to your next review!
    I believe a stage 2 with remap pushing around 240nm of torque with a valvetronic exhaust is possible now truly pushing this into the real hot hatch category...

      I would say around 11-13kmpl. It depends a lot on your driving style, road, tyre pressure and traffic conditions. On the highway you can get upto 20kmpl if you are careful. Bad roads, traffic have sometimes given me 10kmpl. However, the mileage figures in the odo shown are always correct and that's a good thing. This car is not about mileage, there are much better ones in the same segment for that.

      @Bharani Dharan mileage is good for a turbo charge engine in peak delhi traffic i get 8.5 kmpl, in a normal delhi traffic 12 kmpl easily, on highways without cruise control 20-22 kmpl sometimes 25 kmpl also. But you will find very light weight materials used all around the car. Bumper is too made of weak plastic car gets dents very easily. Missing wireless apple carplay or android auto irritates me. But yes when it comes to driving pleasure i drives so well that i m a fan, its more spacious than verna in terms of seating capacity, interiors are way too good, bose soundsystem top notch. I m in love with its steering, thhey could have provided better set of wheels. I got ceat secura drive. I would recommend the car basis its driving dynamics, drive safely it will never bother you. One more thing this car demands premium petrol like xp95 etc, i use xp 95 and it delivers good performance, but normal petrol doesn't deliver the same performance, xp100 i have tried and the difference between xp100 and normal petrol is significant in this car.

    Great videos! I guess you guys will need a better mic... you may want to pick up an individual mike for both of you to keep the audio quality consistent.
    Speaking about Hyundai's its buying a tin box for a super inflated price, even Indian Tata's make much better cars compared to Hyundai and esp. things going against N-line:
    1) Compromised build quality, NCAP rating of 3 + rattling noises doesn't feel build to last!
    2) Stiff suspension that makes the ride rather uncomfortable both on highways and in the city
    3) Ride and handling is not the best in its class
    4) Cheap plastics stuck all over the car to make it look beefy and the worst part is they start rattling and falling apart in less than one year
    5) Engine is not the best in its class
    6) Way to expensive for a poorly executed car...everything is a compromise (build quality, ride and handling, engine, and its has no snob appeal either)
    Hyundai saw VW Polo exit India market and perhaps wanted to become a Mkt leaders by surging ahead in the gap till the new VW is launched however its no match for GT in any way.... for performance seekers a second hand GT or Fiat Abarth is far better than this horrible N-line.... Indian cities need safer cars and high time Govt. of India makes NCAP 5 star ratings mandatory for all cars and SUV's... Indian lives matter....lets consciously avoid buying cars with low build quality and NCAP ratings because life is too precious.

      By saying ‘tata makes better cars than hyundai' shows that ur knowledge about cars. Basically u are just a fanboi of tata or anyother crap brand who just wanna spread hate by writing hundreds of cons of a car by yourself or by seeing some useless reviews🤡🤡🤡. “engine not best in class" “worst ride and handling quality" “ratling noises" “cheap plastics" dont know what weed u are smoking?? Acutally u are just an underaged kid who don't even have a lisence to test drive a car🤭😆🤣🤣. Dafaq did u say ‘tata makes better cars than hyundai'? Then go to a junk yard u can see hundreds of tata cars lying there tata's weren't reliable nor they are gonna make reliable cars they still make cars with indica specs with just improved safety worst handling, stability, reliabilty, toppling cars, cheap plastics, ratling noises etc tata only have 5 star safety rest all are💩. Also did u say that Hyundai has ‘rating issues' right? Go see skoda Kushaq, VW taigun, slavia and virtus u I'll know what is ratling and cheap plastics even the newly delivered cars start ratling and parts falling off by just passing through the gutter quality is worst in the segment, 6kmpl worst mileage🤭🤭and their unreliable tsi engines and dsg gearboxes💩also can't say anything about their safety has none of their VW 2.0 cars went to crash test also they are using different platforms in international and Indian market MQBAO is international platform and MQBAO IN is indianised platform hence there will be cost cutting🤣🤣🤣💩💩💩

      Polo was a good car but no way as good as some fanboys have made it look! Coz of this illogical fanboyism VW thinks they can dump anything in India and ppl will praise it.
      They didn’t even try with the new Polo. All the actual legendary status the Polo got was due to the mod community. Atleast Hyundai is trying to give something diff here. Previously only Fiat with the Abarth & Ford with the Figo sport tried. VW was busy with being the one eyed king in a blind kingdom.
      VW had a great car in 2010-15 after that they just stopped giving it meaningful upgrades. The DSG was problematic, but in VW fashion they continued to dump it here for many gullible peeps to have buyers remorse. Then crucially they didn’t even upgrade the issue prone suspension setup which would give up within 60-80k for many. Infact later in it’s cycle the Polo was getting worse components. The less said abt the “GT” the better, the laziness in it’s execution was evident.
      Yes it is a safer car, but the chassis was not done justice by VW one bit. Just like how Tata is handling the Altroz today (VW was atleast better than Tata though). The engine is a gem agreed but it was nowhere as good a car on the whole in its stock form as is made out to be by common folks.

For my Rapid top end model costed me 14.2L(on road price) or you could have gone for Polo TSI MT which pulls like a mad and i20 no where comes close to Polo build, balance, high-speed stability that too it costs under 10.5L. or even City 5gen base model with powerful ivtec engine would have been a good choice.

      As they rightly say, the life is uncertain, then why alone boast the 5* rating when other aspects are pretty average like engine, NVH levels etc. Eg. Altroz doesn't guarantee life savings when met with an accident, if you have a bad luck then gone. Recently saw a video, where ciaz with lesser ratings even after 3 roll overs after accident completely saved 2 adults and a 2yr old kid, whereas so called 5 star cars met with terrible accidents and people lost lives.
      A car needs good refined engine, peace of mind wrt after sales service, less maintenance in long run and then good built. Seatbelts + Careful driving and min 2 airbags are good enough, but yes if luck is bad they day will not be ours

If traffic is moving slower than this with jams, expect 8kmpl. If city is not dense and u can easily drive upto 60kmph, it gives mileage upto 16kmpl.
