Hey, if you’re Hispanic and prefer the term “Hispanic” over “Latino,” my apologies.
I tried to go with the most generally accepted term amongst Hispanics. Originally, I thought it was “Latino.”
But, after doing some post video study, I found that “Hispanic” may be the more preferred term.
There's a lot of overlap. You didn't do anything wrong
I don’t mind either way, maybe some people will care as the terms aren’t always interchangeable but it’s not a huge deal

But seeing as he lives in Brooklyn New York it makes sense that he listens to hip hop. If Miles were real he’d probably even listen New York drill lol

But it’s a fact that due to where Miles is, he’s more than likely going have a liking to the typa music that is mostly played around him. Because the places u grow up in, influence u. Samething with people, they influence u.

I myself am Puertorican, p similar to Miles unironically (puerto Rican mom, black dad, from Brooklyn, real difference being my mom was the real hard ass growing up lol) and when going through Miles Morales’ game, while the score was FIRE, I think your approach really respected the character and his roots as Puerto Rican, Black and, above all, a Brooklyn Badass 🤙🏾

As an Afrolatina, I fucking ADORE this! I’m also Puerto Rican/Dominican! I always lose it when I hear any clear Hispanic influence in music, and I personally believe there’s no better artistic overlap in the world than black and Latin music. Keep doing what you’re doing, it’s very well done!

This felt a lot less generic than the official music
The official music didn’t wanna go full hip hop and wanted to mix it with that superhero music from the first game for the sake of series consistency. I wish they had gone further into Miles getting his own musical vibe

I fell like the music should have been more intense when swinging or doing combat, though it was a lil too chill for such action focused scenes.

And for guitar the intro for esa mujer or intro to títí me preguntó . And the whole dembow genre is a gem for music. the beat to sorcorro by jey one could fit good. To be extremely fair, Miles is a New Yorker, from Brooklyn specifically, growing up with his Puerto Rican mother alongside his black father, and looking up to his black uncle. Miles is very much someone absolutely entrenched and surrounded by black culture living in that kind of environment, so it doesn't surprise me that he doesn't express his being Puerto Rican very much. In BTSV there's actually a joke about him using super formal spanish because he doesn't actually know the language very well.
Not saying it shouldn't be expressed, afrolatino is an underrepresented demographic that deserves representation and I really liked these tracks, it just doesn't surprise me that Miles is more focused on being "the black Spider-Man" rather than "the Hispanic Spider-Man" by the people who write his stories.
This is amazing! I always felt the OG games soundtracks lack personality in some spots but this was oozing with it

the web swinging theme was so good. i wasn't initially going to click on this video, but the puerto rican flag on the thumbnail had me interested, since people don't usually talk about that part of his identity. safe to say, i'm glad i did! as for the question of hispanic vs latino, either works. latino is just a specific term for those from latin america or the caribbean etc etc. miles is both latino and hispanic, so it doesn't really matter what you use !

COLD beats, HARD video idea, all around AMAZING execution
4:31 idk if this is only in Peter’s game, but when you zip through a water tower it causes the music’s tempo to go faster for a second. I kinda remember it as drums but I’m not sure since I haven’t played the first game in a while. Also don’t know if it’s in Spider-Man 2 as well.
I kinda wanted him to have some regaetone music for a more versatile hispanic feel while still having the hip-hop feel and his black culture. Something with a Tres guitar and trap machine, I also think an electric classical bass would sound great for an orchestral version.
Cool idea. I think that could work too.

the difference in sauce between movie miles and game miles is so wild. its clear they tried to emulate the representation from the movies, but it jus feel way too corporate compared to movie miles stepping out the house in chicago 1s, dapping his folks up wit a brooklyn accent, and switching to spanish effortlessly, with a artist that both young black men and young hispanic men actually know about playing in the background 💀

Absolutely amazing how you fit every single movement in the gameplay with the music. The only thing i personally would've changed is the guitar for something more Puertorican than Spanish. (At least to ME it sounded a little bit too european) I would've make it more of a reggaeton mixed with hip-hop.
