AWESOME ENDING!!! (The television show M*A*S*H... which you're probably too young to remember was equally awesome... provided that you were familiar with all the characters.)
I cried too a lot actually the first couple times I saw it. But I think I’ve been desensitized to it now, that’s why I didn’t shed one tear in the video.
I don't know if I would call it the saddest end. Yes, I also cried a lot when I first watched it, and sometimes I also shed another tear when I watch it again. But isn't it the most natural thing, that everyone has to die some day? Some of them in this ending SFU were relatively young, but in general I would say that this is the way things are, and it's OK!
I never even seen it or even know what's it about, or know anything about the characters, yet it manages to make me sad, because it's true, this is what real life is like, you get old and die. Life is not a TV show, there are no endings, life continues on until death.
This finale touched me deeper than I'd like. As a child, I was always aware that life was temporary and I was running out of time. When I saw this finale during the original broadcast, to say it hit a nerve was an understatement. I was depressed for weeks. Eventually, I came to realize it was really a gift. It confirmed what I always knew and from that point on I try to enjoy every day as if it's my last. I don't hang on to anger and I've learned forgiveness. All in all, it enhanced my life.
I feel somehow the same… life can be that easy at the end when you begin to know that everything can be solved step by step. I am not saying that, for example, mental issues like depression or others just fade away with this mindset, but that perspective has changed sth in me forever and always try to think positively! You only get one life, be that, be happy. And be calm.
To get the full affect of this most incredible filmmaking it’s worth going back and watch the show and take the journey with these characters. I have never watched this scene without weeping.
i get emotionally constipated a lot. where i know i need a cry, but i can't make one happen no matter what i am dealing with. this scene, this song.... every time. the dam breaks and the tears flow from the opening notes through the montage of what i consider the best series finale in the history of finales. i'm about to be 42, i've seen a LOT of finales. none ripped me apart this much... or gave me the closure as much as i needed as this scene. as an actor i think it's great that i can say with confidence i can cry on command, just give me three minutes with youtube. don't let me watch all of it--because if i do i have cried myself out until there are no more tears. and then you find out about sia's personal story and why she hid her face for so long. this song and scene were a marriage made in heaven.
This was when HBO was in its prime. So many amazing shows at one. Oz, SATC, The Sopranos, The Corner, and Six Feet Under. This was one of the best series finale i've ever seen.
I'm at a point in my life where even if I need to cry I can't. I just kind of flatline and feel numb most of the time and I wish I could cry because it would be cathartic to do so. Watching the ending with Sia's song playing apparently is the one thing that can still get my water works going though. It's not even that I'm sad when I watch it I just find it completely beautiful. Memento Mori. Thank you so much for posting this.

One of the best finales I’ve ever seen! The only one that compares to it is MASH. The concept of ending with all the major characters dying was brilliant on Ball’s part, considering each show started with a death. Never will forget this finale and it’s been over 15 years! Truly a great show!

I watched all 5 series' of Six Feet Under and loved the entire show from series 1, ep 1 til the last episode. The entire show was amazing, the way every episode began with a death and some deaths directly affected the story of the Fishers, Diaz' and Keith, Brenda, Billy and all the auxiliary characters. The episode when David was kidnapped/carjacked by a sociopath and forced him to smoke crack was, in a way, a bit too unreal in the real meaning, but is the event started to effect him more and more seemed real. The whole relationship with siblings Billy and Brenda (Nate's girlfriend [in ep 1, S1] til their marriage and break up just before his dead was one of the best character arcd I have ever seen; born from amazing writing, of course. But after everything, I was not including Claire's Drive. I saw his dead brother in the side mirror running after him until Claire was totally gone; the entire family unseen as he hit the interstate from LA to NYC. I heard the beginning of 'Breathe Me', (it was well known in Australia as Sia is Oz), but I was not prepared for the ending. As each person died it was, like, bam, bam, bam. Also, the song was just perfect for Claire's Drive. If you've not seen the show before, I can't recommend it higher; and the music throughout the whole show fit perfectly. If it wasn't for SFU I would never have heard Transatlanticism by Death Cab For Cutie, a band I love still and will forever. I didn't realise S2 that Six Feet Under was produced and often written by the people who made American Beauty and later, True Blood. If I have any criticisms' at all would be that a lot in the last season seemed a bit rushed, and many people weren't given their 'elegy', like Billy, Vanessa, and Brenda's mum played by Joanna Cassidy and had the best laugh I've ever heard. Also, if you like Sia's music, this version of 'Breathe Me' doesn't give you anything close to the whole song. That said, it was edited perfectly for Claire's Drive/ the end of the show. Well the part where he says get up everybody's waiting is not just simply that. The scene is immensely significant from the get go man. Everybody's literally waiting for her to wake up and get on with leaving/living, yeah, but also Nate is saying everyone is waiting for her in (afterlife) -- You can even think of it as not even Nate there, but if it is Claire's thoughts it's a whole other can of worms! Also the whole drive to me shows the hustle and bustle of city 'life' juxtaposed with her slow funeral parlor life where every moment mattered to the people they were working with. Then subsequently, her life is flashing by, with the most meaningful parts being when she's back with her family for those important events. And even then they are just memories, flashing by and always will be that. People die, life moves on, but you can't be caught in the mess and forget to live your own life.

Why would you be (actively) chewing gum when you are making a video?? Very punkish and annoying.
Oh man ...you have not respect for this 9 minutes of life ...! Stop with that chewingum and go home please!!
Not sure where you came from, but my generation was taught not to chew gum when talking, or loudly, or with noise, or with your mouth open, when we were old enough to chew gum. It's rude and disgusting. I will never watch another one of your videos because of this.
Excellent job on the creation of this video!! I tip my hat to you.
