Thank you for addressing this problem. I saw 4 dermatologists who each gave me different diagnoses and treatments with no resolution. One even said I was causing the itching and stinging!! The 5th dermatologist finally did a punch biopsy of a tiny bump I hadn't scratched yet and voila! DX Grover's.

I have Grover's Disease and as a younger woman it's so deflating. It's not super common and luckily my dermatologist knew what it was. Unfortunately, all I was told was that it's more common in males (mid-age) verse female and heat/sweating makes it worse. Ironically, I don't sweat which is what I think the cause is - my skin doesn't "break" heat like normal people do. Personally, I feel mine is worse during the winter months. The sun can help it dry out in the warm months but also over sun exposure makes it flare to. It's a rat race to try to keep it in check. Ironically - zinc oxide helps it for me but I wish there was more information regarding this topic!

I'm a 74 female and 2024 is the first time I've gotten it. I had thought it was mild shingles even though I've had both vaccinations for that but just found out today 3/7/24 that the dermatologist thinks it Grovers. I do clean my house and work in the garden doing raking and weeding but I don't sweat much in the winter. A week ago I took a cayenne capsule twice a day and it took 90% of the itch away and lessened the redness greatly. I only did that for about 4 or 5 days. It still itches and isn't as red, but I can handle it. I don't want drugs. I'm wondering about diet - things that will make it worse or better. So far I only know about cayenne. (I've been vegetarian for 51 years rarely eating out.) I did take antibiotics for a urinary tract issue (that I didn't feel but was found in routine lab work) at the end of October. I had not taken antibiotics for maybe 15 years. It seemed to cause more problems than it cured.

For what it is worth ... I have been treated for Grover's for 15 years by a Dermo-Doc who has been in that specialty for 40 years. He insisted Grover's is NOT an auto=immune condition (which I have always doubted) and treated me with Triamcinolone cream, topically applied, PRN, and with injectable Kenalog when things got really bad. For another reason, I began taking N-Acetyl Cystiene (an amino acid supplement, 600 mg 2X daily) three months ago, without even thinking about its impact on Grover's. Within a month, my Grover's symptoms abated by 90%.

I was diagnosed with Grover’s Disease 6 years ago. I was told to avoid heat and sweating. However, mine breaks out in times of high stress or anxiety and only on one side of my body.

I'm a 70 year old woman diagnosed with Grovers Disease. I have it right under my breasts, right where my bra hits. II live in Florida, oh boy, heat and humidity. It started out years ago very mild, a few pustules, now years later it has progressed to an area all under my breasts. Very annoying, have been prescribed many creams, etc. Nothing seems to work very well.. But at least it does help the itching.

Glad to see someone talk about it. Mine started after I started welding. After about a year, the T-shirts that I wore to weld, under thick cotton jacket started fading out in the same pattern of the breakouts, from the weld rays. Sunlight and hot showers could set it off also. I was prescribed a Triamcinolone cream that seemed to help with inflammation and healing but nothing to prevent or slow down more breakouts. I researched and tried every supplement that might possibly help. Now I consume more Omega3's. The main thing I found, things that are good for hair and joints are good for skin, after trying many supplements, I found a product promoted for hair growth, and not so much for skin. It has L-proline and L-lysine, amino acids that make up proteins, and a bunch of biotin and other vitamins and herbs. I take just one a day, if I miss a few days and I am out in the heat or sun, the worst I get is maybe 2 or 3 bumps. I spray the area with Hydrogen peroxide, once or twice that day, that stops the itch and begins healing. I didn't really see anything in the video that spoke to me, but I will watch the diet. Not to much of a problem anymore tho.

Thank you for bringing this to light. I was diagnosed when I was 38. I workout daily and most of my brake outs are under my sports bra. Its pretty miserable. I do try and get out of my wet closthes as soon as possible.

I don't think dairy is a problem. I'm a 74 year old female and I've been vegetarian for 51 years (not vegan). At age 74 it's the first time I ever got Grovers. Dairy products never bothered me before. I don't eat butter or cream because it causes gallbladder problems but milk, yogurt, cheese have never caused Grovers in me.

I've had it for 7 years... And nothing helps. I moved to Queensland (Australia) a few weeks ago and it is HOT and I am sweating SO SO much every day... It's unbearable because it is itching and burning so so much and nothing really helps... I am also on a vegan diet for 4 years now but it's not helping.
I am listening to this now and hope to hear something helpful.
