  • Start simulating real physics in After Effects with Physics NOW! bit.ly/ECA_PhysicsNOW
    Simulate real collisions, bounces, jostles, bumps and other words for things hitting other things with this new 3rd party plugin for Adobe After Effects. We go through the basics and make a little crokinole game. Set up static and dynamic layers. Power your layers with keyframes. Add new elements into the simulation on the fly. All on the timeline!?! It's physics... NOW!
    If you have any questions just let me know in the comments.

    This is something Adobe needs to work on. A built-in physics engine in AE would definitely make life easier for many kinds of animations. My inspiration in this regard is Blender, which gives you so many physics simulations (gravity, cloth, rubber, collisions, wind, you name it) out of the box, all of that without any billion-dollar company backing them.

      Newton3 from AE Scripts far far better. This physics engine has clearly been created from someone who has used Newton plugin script for AE

    Is it possible to clamp the rotation of shapes inside a simulation?
    For example, I don’t want the shapes in a simulation to have their rotation completely locked, but I don’t want them to rotate all over the place either.
    Basically, is there a way to tell to the simulation to not rotate the shapes between for example -22° and 22° ?

      Thank you very much. I was actually having a pretty rough vocal day. To record, I'm speaking into a Shure SM7B connected through a Focusrite Clarette and a Fethead for added clean gain. I process the audio in Audition with a little noise reduction and some light eq but nothing really special. I don't know much audio tbh and it's been quite a process of little tweaks here and there.

      @SDebreuil Před 5 lety

      @@ECAbrams Ha ha, for those who don't play crokinole, the black space in the centre of the board is actually a hole, and as the button slides over it, it should drop or 'sink' into the hole. When it does, it's removed from play, and you get twenty points, or a '20'. So those those twenties should really sink!

      Hard to say. Newton has more features but lacks flexibility. PN is lower cost, works entirely in the timeline, and is the simpler and faster of the two. The best move is to get the trial of both and make the choice based on real experience and your project needs.

      perhaps a shootout video is worth exploring. I do use both. But then I ball out of control with what plugins are at my disposal. I will say that PN is very much growing. So we may have a full comparison by end of summer.

      Depends on how many times you land on a gig that requires heavy use of physics. If you do only physics stuff then Haudini will pay off. But if you don't AND everything else you do is motion graphics and editing/compositing then just use After Effects - it's very diverse. You can even pull off some crazy stuff with expressions - which I bet this script uses a lot(except if it is a plug in and everything is handled in the background).
