  • Have you ever wanted to learn how to add a bounce that is accurate to physics in After Effects? Or just how to add accurate physics without having to animate every single key frame?
Well today is your day! James is teaching you how to animate physics using expressions in After Effects.

This video takes you through a step by step tutorial on creating accurate physics animations in Adobe After Effects. We hope you can use these expressions in your day to day, and you find this video helpful!
Today we're using a few plugins from aescripts, the first is Ease and Wizz, a nifty little Plugin that James uses everyday, which can be found on aescripts here:
    Ease and Wizz:
    aescripts.com/ease-and-wizz/
And the second plugin is Path Visualizer.
Path Visualizer is a great way to draw vertices, beziers and handles based on your text or paths. It updates live with any animations. Great for technical/blueprint styles or just showing off your phat curves.
It's on aescripts + aeplugins now with a free trial as well, actually all our After effects plugins are on aescripts + aeplugins right now and most of them have free trials.
Some of the features of Path Visualizer:
    - Compatible with text, shape layers and masks
    - Updates live with your animation
    - Different vertex types: Circle, diamond, square
    - Customize handle lengths, widths, colors, stroke
    - Easy to use animation system
    - Large number of stylistc parameters, customizable to suit any style

Expressions and physics animations.... they sound terrifying to get involved with, but the truth is we can get into these techniques pretty easily. Today James dives into
in a step by step guide to help you. What other techniques do you want us to cover?

Awesome! I need to get over my weird threshold of sorts to get back into AE and use some programming in it!

Good luck! Let us know if you need help with anything! What’s stopping you?
Don’t forget you don’t have to release the things you make, as long as you are creating that’s great!

Great but would have been cool to learn the expressions involved.

    Hello,
thank's for the video but I have a problem, I reproduced the same, but when I apply elastic, out, all at the time of the second composition, the path does not bounce like on the video, it hangs in the middle and stop bouncing, yet I have the exact same animation curve. I don't understand

Just watched it now. In comp 2, did you animate the overshoot? If not, the animation will be clamped at the end like in your example video.

I animated it, I redid the tutorial
      but it's same,
the elastic does not do the opposite movement...
I posted a second video if you have time to watch. I don't have plugin repositionanchorpoint, it's important ?

this is not physics simulation actually.
    juat simple movements .
lets say i have grain of sand and its falling down and hitting a solid object ..can we do those things with this ?
