    Please keep making content like this, it's extremely valuable. Most of this stuff is not taught elsewhere, and definitely not in such an easy to understand way.

    Great tutorial video,Easy to understand and easy to apply. start watching your luke video and learn a lot. It's a pity that Luke is not mentioned in this video. Do you have any tips for modern Luke?

    • @iZonkGaming2021
      @iZonkGaming2021  Před 5 měsíci +1

      thank you! thats great to hear :) mmm I dont play modern but modern luke is the best in the game probably, because his level 1 is so fast en beats projectiles (and strikes obviously). So if you suspect people drive rushing in or DI'ing their way in, you can just do that level 1 and plow through whatever they are doing, it's almost unfair that that move is available under a single button.
      Other than that, just try to focus on using your cmp, cmk and st mk to keep them away and the uppercut to anti air. Thats where it always starts for shotos like Luke. Drive rush the knock downs and test in training mode what works (after his light knuckle for instance, you can drive rush overhead and that will beat all options).

      Thank you so much for the awesome response! Your video has really improved my game-I've gone from rookie to Platinum 3 in my first fighting game, (grinding to get better. It's unfortunate that the modern mode doesn't have st.mk. So I'm not sure how to set space track. not sure which button to press after using cmp. Any tips on these would be super appreciated.
      Looking forward to your new videos!@@iZonkGaming2021

      @iZonkGaming2021  Před 5 měsíci +1

      @@user-wz6hs2fk9d ohh modern doesnt have mk? you can use cr mk instead then. as a poke. if you poke with it and they jump at the same time, you can still uppercut them (you cannot with st mp for example).
      if you press cmp close by, you can frame trap with clp...confirm into light flash knuckle or go into sand blast.
      if you use cmp from far away...you can press parry right after...if it happens to hit, you wil automatically drive rush. if it whiffs, nothing happens. It's a good buffer to use. do that when you are just outside of their range.
      good luck and good to hear you've improved so fast, from rookie to plat 3 is great great progress!

    Awesome guide. I have fallen many times to Ken spacing traps.
    What would you do as the defender to conter this, other than not pressing and then be susceptible to pressure again?

    • @iZonkGaming2021
      @iZonkGaming2021  Před 6 měsíci +1

      You could press longer (slower) buttons that do reach, thats the best option. Or you could back dash and you’re out!

    only problem with this is... majority of my time in ranked matches (i was placed in diamond 1) only a handful actually played footsies. Didnt come across more footsies until diamond 5 when they started matching me with Master rankers. but even the lower MR Masters dont even know footsies 😂

    • @feri7mble
      @feri7mble Před 9 měsíci

      OK but you don't need to "play footsies", you just need them to block an attack with a lot of pushback.

    • @iZonkGaming2021
      @iZonkGaming2021  Před 9 měsíci +1

      Yes, true. footsies is just a part of the game and whiff punishing is just a part of footsies, so its a small part in the entire flow of the game. You dont need it it to hit master but you do if you wanna move beyond imo

    Do you have any tips on hitting links? I'm still really struggling with them, particularly going from crouching to standing

    • @iZonkGaming2021
      @iZonkGaming2021  Před 9 měsíci +3

      Generally the timing of links has to do with the length of a move. You press lights quickly after eachother, bit more time between mediums and awkwardly long from a heavy. You watch the move and when you see it reaching out, you press. Hope it helps, its a timing/feeling so practise really is key here

    • @theluigifan42
      @theluigifan42 Před 9 měsíci +2

      on that note of linking with heavies being -hard- awkward (and some mediums), i'd recommend to pay attention to the animation and learn the point where you can buffer (can you buffer when their foot touches the ground? their arm reels back a certain way? their feet switch back into a certain stance? etc)
      i play zangief, who doesn't have crazy combos, but his higher damage combos do require a pretty good understanding of his heavy moves' buffer windows, so i've had to rely on paying attention to attack animations to learn said windows. ion know about lights tho, zangief doesn't have many links with his lights

    tips for manon?

    • @iZonkGaming2021
      @iZonkGaming2021  Před 7 měsíci

      I will get back at you! I havent played her so I dont know exactly. I do know manon has a great mp to space out the opponent, i would start with that button to whiff punish. Lk is aswell, yiu can drive rush that. So maybe…mp..max range, and than do lk..drive rush buffer it. If it hits anything, you confirm the combo or on block you are plus, maybe command grab them for a medal. I get hit with that a lot because the instincts are to block or parry when you get drive rushed in from a. button

    for a gold player it looks kind of hard

    • @iZonkGaming2021
      @iZonkGaming2021  Před 16 dny +1

      Thx for watching! When you try to rank up or beat a certain level of player (like gold rank), you have to pay attention what they do to hit you and take that away. You are right that this is pretty advanced, this is taking away the ability to counter poke in neutral.
      At your level, your opponents are likely jumping on you a lot or they are drive rushing from far away or dashing..or doing raw special moves..or they see running away from you. You have to beat their tactics at gold level first before you can engage with people in neutral like in this video
      So i advise you to watch what it is the opponent does and counter that. Jump? Anti air. Dash or drive rush? Poke them out of it with cmp or clp. Are they running away? Slowly walk them down, dont throw fireballs and expect a jump out near the corner. Are they DI’ing a lot? Focus on that.
      When the answer is; they press buttons and whiff after blocking my long buttons, thats when you can go for the stuff in this video. You got this 🙌
