For a current gen game that was announced years ago. I'm excited for it, but it's not a fair comparison.

I’m wondering if they’ll have a morality mechanic between the ghost and samurai gameplay. They mentioned the ghost was dishonorable, and sucker punch has a history of the good/bad mechanic. Could be something there.
There was a supposed leak a year ago that talked about how ghost playstyle is seen as a dishonorable way by the people and how they won’t be happy seeing you, here they called it dishonorable too so who knows it might have been a true leak.
@@knightofastora916 As far I looked on it about a year ago, that was speculation, no something that "leaked"
They said the mongols learn to fear the ghost, I imagine if you don't play as the ghost, that won't happen.
Gabriel Tzukishiro they pretty clearly showed that you can confront combat in the ghost style or the samurai style. When they showed the samurai combat, you are right, they didn’t fall in fear. They just fought back.
ancient japan had an honor system, per se, and not giving your enemy a chance to fight back is dishonorable. I don't think there'll be an honor system

I'm right there with Blessing. This looks awesome! The soundtrack really helped every action seem so epic. To answer that final question, I think I'll be playing in English in my first playthrough. The English voice acting has been a noticeable strong point of each trailer prior to this gameplay showcase. I'll save the Japanese dubbing for the Cinema Mode playthrough.
If we don't have a action sequence in a bamboo forest slicing up enemies and bamboo trees... *imma rage*

nope, Ac is trash, Got is quality men, 6 years of developing compared to a copy paste game every two years then taking everything that made AC AC to make it a default okay rpg where there isn't a hidden blade, I mean come on is that even AC

I love how the no hud and the only waypoints so you can know if its a side quest or main quest are just at looking in game and looking where there are by seeing all these small white smokes or big black smokes just feels waay more immersive.
Game looks great! Also I'm definitely playing this in Japanese.

I was going to make my first playthrough in the Black and White Samurai Mode, but Greg brings up a good point, where I might only do the cinema mode during the epic fights. But I'm still 50/50 on if I want to do the English vs Japanese voice acting on my first run through

The composer is Shigeru Umebayashi. He’s never done a game’s score, but he’s composed a bunch of Japanese and Chinese films.

is anyone else having issues with the video not showing up? I can see the KF logo at the bottom right and the audio but no visual at all
I'm going Japanese, in my country there is the culture of using the original audio for movies with subtitles (with the exception of kids movies). Listening Japanese voice acting will definitely add to the experience.

I usually go subtitles too, but this wasn't made by a Japanese team so I honestly will probably go English. When it's a Japanese game or anime I feel like I'm missing out on the original intent this is different for me.

Will definitely be playing this with Japanese dialogue as it will totally immerse me within the world. I’m used to reading subtitles as I’ve had them on for films and games since I was a kid.
The black and white filter I’m not as sure about using just due to the amazing colour within the game. If it’s easy and accessible to change it for specific moments that would look cool and cinematic then I might. Say like a boss battle is about to start, switch it to black and white.
I must say, I was not very interested in this game initially. But after seeing this it has become very much a must have.
I for one am very excited to see peoples thoughts on the game when it comes out to decide if I will buy. As of now looks pretty good. Was not interested at all before today. Good showing for me

As an aside, I honestly still feel like the first Infamous is the best one. I didn’t like that they changed the voice in the second game and I didn’t like the New Orleans setting as much. Second Son was cool because of Seattle and the different powers but the story sucked. I wish they had done a trilogy with the beast rather than putting it in the second game
@Leon Russell First of all, the leaker wasn’t a Naughty Dog employee, second thing even if he had been he would have been an asshole for screwing his colleagues. Anyway I’m glad I haven’t looked at spoilers, not even trailers except the first one. Can’t wait for both games.

Take all my money, no take it and convert it to yen!!! Take all my yen!!!This is out what I always wanted in an Assassin’s Creed game set in Japan!! But since Ubisoft said they won’t do one in this time period for some absolutely stupid reason this it the closest we’ll get.
NO actually this exceeds any and all expectations I had for this game. I truly believe even Ubisoft couldn’t be this innovative with gameplay in AC nor jaw dropping in its beautiful setting. This is the first game ever for the PS4 where I am chomping at the bit to use photo mode!! And I might also play it with the Japanese audio!!

It's hard to get a sense of how combat actually FEELS...but the game just looks so...dang...beautiful. I gotta have it. 👌
The stance switching is dope
I got to agree. There's obviously a parry system but I don't know whether the person playing is just good but his timing looked spot on so they didn't really show what happens when they miss that timing. Or how big that timing is. Plus what happens if you just spam attacks. I'm not expecting Nioh or Sakiro levels of combat (though that'd be amazing and stance switching gives me a bit of hope) but I do want some challenge in the gameplay mechanics.
Either way I want to play it.

At the beginning I was not so hyped on this game but caught myself at the end being really interested.
I''m absolutely playing this in black and white with Japanese voices as though I was playing a Kurosawa movie. Those were the two things I really wanted from this game and I'm so happy they delivered.
I plan to play my first playthrough in Samurai Cinema and japanese audio 😁

I can maybe see why Sony has continued to hold GoT behind LoU2 as for me LoU was a once play through type of game, nothing much left to go back for, whereas GoT looks like something that is going to tie me over for a long time exploring everything. Thoughts?

This is great, going to be such a joy. Another addition to the superb first party PS titles. I like how they've included the environmental storytelling, it feels like the island is helping Jin fight against the Mongols. Every time I hear Jin all I see is Worldwide Handsome 💜

This game absolutely needs to be played in Japanese. Anyone who has tried games like Nioh 2 and Sekiro in both Japanese and English knows how much difference the Japanese soundtrack makes to the atmosphere.
Reminds me of like the perfect hybrid of Red Dead Redemption/Assassins Creed/God of War but Samurai style...Can't wait for this to drop.

I don’t get it, the lack of a HUD alone keeps people’s hype down? I’ve been sold on all these games since E3 2018, Sony’s games never downgrade (at least not noticeably).

things tend to not perform well on base ps4 in general, but being a first party game, i imagine sony will do whatever they can to make sure it falls outside the norm. same goes for last of us part 2. might still make you deaf tho.

Watching anime shows and movies as a young lad I would hear it dubbed (no option to changed it). Watching any content now in its original dialogue is a must, the emotions and characters are stronger. I'm down to play this game with original Japanese audio.

I'm SO happy that you can choose japanese dialogues with english subtitles. It was my only concern. This games japanese aesthetic is so well crafted that the english voices take me a bit out of the experience. Can't wait for July!

I can’t remember what game it was (maybe Sekiro), but it was a Japan set game, and I played it in English because I knew everyone was going to play it in Japanese. I feel bad for people that worked on the English dub. I’m definitely gonna play this in Japanese. If I really like it, I might do a second play through with Samurai Cinema turned on.

Brings some breath of the wild vibes, more ac than ac. Sucker punch vibes with the music. I'm in.
Definitely gonna play in Japanese (subs over dubs besides special cases, cmon guys) but in all seriousness loved it in Sekiro and felt so much more immersed in that world because of it. Really hyped for this game now tho Sucker Punch really don’t miss
