Heart and imagination is over the top. A true genius of invention. he really is the next Tony...a name held dearly in out history... God's speed in your career///
Every rudimentary shot in the book is here. Creative. Simple. Complex. So good; well timed; well developed, talented, detailed. Full range of rolls and the broadest band of beats rarely heard.
His playing demonstrates maturity. I'm not here to judge, I would be missing the point of being a musician if so. I doubt however that you could watch this video and not be inspired in some way. He is one of the reasons I, myself still play drums and believe in the freedom of expression. Technical skills like his phrasing and flam taps are incredible but the whole point is not to judge but to listen and let it take you! Go Ronald!
Unlike most young players these days who can play with fiery rudimentary skills yet overplay, did I say overplay where you can’t tell one play from another all sounding the same .. however Ronald Bruner jr is the exception. He is what a drummer is supposed to be and does what a drummer is supposed to do! He is musical, expressive and never overplays. He only unleashes when asked .. incredible young player! Very inspiring!
This has to be one of the best solos I've ever seen. I've dismissed this guy in the past as just another gospel drummer w blazing chops but his playings pretty deep. Always coming from the groove..I hear alot of vinnie in here
To all the haters, you hear the crowd? That is his reward for playing his 'shit' solo. If the crowd loves it, it's a success for the night. Music moved the crowd so your argument is invalid
I bet when he closes his eyes, he’s just reminiscing of the old times he and his brother jamming when learning there craft. Two great accomplished musicians
I was just thinking that as good as he is Dennis in his prime days would still eat him, non of the new drummers are better than the old drummers...Dave weckl is still playing....
Billy Cobham is my favorite drummer. And Ronald (which have my name...) has a very influenced sound here. But he has some of hip hop, reagge and modern music, I think he is not a empty copy. Congratulations, man!
For 47 years I lived under the impression that I knew pretty much all the great drummers in the world. But obviously I missed a vital part of "the world": the one including Ronald Bruner. That was awesome!!!!!! Big "thumbs up" from Breda (Holland)!
I bet you you have never met him in person. He's super down to earth he just has a thing called a sense of humor. I had a chance to sit in with him in a shed in Inglewood,CA one of the nicest guys I've met.
what separates Ronald, Tony r, Thomas p, and Chris Coleman from everyone else is the power and intensity that they are able to do their single stroke rolls
Roniaaroni Music doesn't care about how advanced your hand technique is, which is why no one in music besides drummers knows who Jojo Mayer is. You don't see him out there playing for actual artists, do you? For this reason I consider him a popular 'drummers drummer', but not really influential on the music scene.
The beauty of drumming is there is no right or wrong. Its all about your creativity. I think this guy is amazing and he was hand picked by Stanley Clarke for his trio. He's amazing in that as well, you should check it out.
It was the Zildjian Re-Mix hi hat..they came out for all over 10 minutes, they stopped making the whole series. Then they came out with the remix series again like a year and a half ago, but the line up was completely different.
How thrilling was that!!! I'm reminded why I love the drums and I really loathe drum machines and samples. I had never heard of this guy until I came across this by accident!
Then you'll despise Ronald because he can play to live and both to programming. As well as Karriem Riggins (Who is a Jazz Drummer and Hip-Hop Producer) and ?uestlove. #openyourmind

Ronald, you are amazing, I met you together with Tony, and Thomas, you were just kids. Love what you are doing. Walfredo sr
The best I've seen. He has it all: Flow, musicality, chops, speed and power.
he's a 10th dan Master, close to Danney Carreys' level which I consider the GOAT... equal to Vinnie I'd say...
Ronald Bruner jr Is the highest level ever reached in drumming. I don’t think you can get any better than him. He’s the GOAT
His playing demonstrates maturity. I'm not here to judge, I would be missing the point of being a musician if so. I doubt however that you could watch this video and not be inspired in some way. 8:12 holy hell look at the front of that bass drum head. looks like the beating heart of a giant ready to explode.
so much for all the drummers i thought were the best in the world. Ronald exceeds all ive ever seen and heard. INCREDIBLE, AMAZING.
Frist video that I've seen from this guy and he's already one of my favourite drummers
Unlike most young players these days who can play with fiery rudimentary skills yet overplay, did I say overplay where you can’t tell one play from another all sounding the same .. however Ronald Bruner jr is the exception. Lingus- snarky puppy
Larnell lewis
Like his Father, he's always been about playing everything, including Jazz. Gospel BTW, is from which Most popular American music comes.
@@Mr.DingusDocter
Any Larnell Lewis for that matter.
To all the haters, you hear the crowd? That is his reward for playing his 'shit' solo. If the crowd loves it, it's a success for the night. Music moved the crowd so your argument is invalid
AND he can sing like he's in the Bee Gee's... No one can touch that kid. NOBODY
Haters can’t not hate. Let them reveal themselves and ignore them lol.
Haters think the hate on other musicians, but in fact they really hate on themselves for not playing as good as them is my belief
What fucking prick said this was a bad solo? They can't of been a drummer for a start, nor a musician and one who hasn't a clue about anything!
I don't think anyone who play drums think this solo is shit...
one of the best snares ive ever heard!
Well mixed up alright.
Micd
I bet when he closes his eyes, he’s just reminiscing of the old times he and his brother jamming when learning there craft. Two great accomplished musicians
Who ever gave this video a thumbs down DOESN"T APPRECIATE DRUMMING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
So much Billy, Tony, Dennis and Vinnie in this kid.
Exactly!!!! He studied privately with Will Kennedy as well. He is fantastic
What about a little Philly Joe?

I've never heard any greater and precise ghost notes than from Ronald Bruner jr., seriously!
Aside from the fact that Ronald is a monster, those are some sick hats.
Impossible lightness of playing! You must love this guy..
The only word that comes to mind is "ridiculous!". Dude...he displays so many technical skills he's obviously mastered it's insane! OMG...
Billy Cobham is my favorite drummer. And Ronald (which have my name...) has a very influenced sound here. But he has some of hip hop, reagge and modern music, I think he is not a empty copy. Congratulations, man!
That snare sounds sooo nice!

My dude it a monster now. I sure do miss those days back in HS. LOVE YOU BRO.
Not that Marcus hasn't had talented drummers...just never let them cut loose like this!
Probably because none of his other drummers could dig in like this
Simply amazing.. one of my fave drummers, god blessed with great chops.
Excellent control! What a great drummer....so much feel!
For 47 years I lived under the impression that I knew pretty much all the great drummers in the world. But obviously I missed a vital part of "the world": the one including Ronald Bruner. That was awesome!!!!!! Big "thumbs up" from Breda (Holland)!

His musical sense is amazing.
this guy just push the boarders farther. sometimes you must ask yourself, if he is even a human beeing :) icredible!!
I bet you you have never met him in person.
He's super down to earth he just has a thing called a sense of humor.
I had a chance to sit in with him in a shed in Inglewood,CA one of the nicest guys I've met.

Ronald Bruner Jr. es el más rápido y mejor baterista de jazz del mundo que yo haya visto y oído hasta ahora.

I always think that. Its always frantic and so dynamic
The beauty of drumming is there is no right or wrong. Its all about your creativity. I think this guy is amazing and he was hand picked by Stanley Clarke for his trio. He's amazing in that as well, you should check it out.
