We relocated to Ocala Florida from Miami Beach for retirement as we already had a house here. In comparison there are two Florida s. Southern Florida South of Tampa/Orlando and Northern Florida ( Ocala, Gainesville region). There are actually small rolling hills here and the Ocala National Forest and Natural Springs state parks for kayaking. Also this region of Florida historically is able to avoid direct hits from hurricanes.

I can't imagine wanting to be in either. I presume that both Ga and Fl are way too hot and humid half of the year. I'm newly semi-retired and I do a lot of cycling. I don't want to be confined to the inside of an air conditioned building for 7 mo of the year. I prefer northern CO. Not too hot in the summer and not too cold and icy in the winter.

North Georgia Mountains are beautiful year ‘round. Deep summer temps are bearable because of the canopy and elevation. Additionally, when we get the peak heat, we can enjoy the many lakes and rivers in the mountains to cool off. Boating, kayaking and stand up paddle boarding are all fun activities in the summer.
Love Colorado, we just love the Appalachians more…….
