Btw the 7 of hearts game could not be played by people who didn't know each other. They only got that game BECAUSE they're friends. That's why it says for the sheep to hide - because it knows they want to let their friend live.

If you noticed his expression was of shock when he reached the bus but they cut away and didnt show why he was shocked because it said goal right friggin there. I bet he was pissed when he saw that

@@pyrofish9203 I guess what was throwing Roshi and Sheerah was the fact that a 1v3 is whole lot less likely to happen than a 3v1, so they didn't even think of that possibility. That's why they misunderstood it. it's what threw me off.
Fun fact: In the manga this game was actually a part of a side story and Arisu and Usagi weren't a part of it.
And the obstacles were: a cheetah, water infested with gators, extreme freezing cold, and an exsplosion

In the manga, Usagi's dad was actually hung himself because of the accuses and she found him in their house, not gone missing. That shit hits harder, to find your own father humiliated over something he didn't do and to witness his lifeless body hung on the ceiling.

That makes me wonder if he'll play a part later in the story (not this season but maybe in season 2). Feels like a very deliberate change and i dont think they'd change it cause suicide would be too for much for a show like this lol maybe he went missing cause he also got transported to a game
@@eva1585 that would be cool, you never know what will happen in the series, since deviating from source material could make the story more dramatic in a sense, even the manga had some crazy twists I never imagine when reading it. All i can say, season 2 would be even more mind boggling than the first, get ready this December!!

Aw man, I don't think they understood what Lupa was trying to say in the beginning. I could just feel his exhaustion through the screen lol. They thought he didn't get the game and kept reexplaining it to him, poor guy. Lupa understood how the game worked and understood what they were saying, he just didn't agree with the way the instructions were given and felt that it would be misleading to a group of strangers. I don't see a lot of comments here having his back on this but get you man.
I get what he was trying to say. This type of game wouldn't be revealed to a group of strangers though anyway. The card of hearts is rare and only appeares to a group of people who already have a deep connection to each other. Games like these are meant to play with your emotions and obviously wouldn't work on a group of strangers.

When I watched this episode of Alice in Borderland, I knew from the start the Bus was the "goal", you can see the letters written on the bus when they approach it. I learnt from this show from the first 3 episodes, that you have to be so observant, and look at the background, cars, and details. With art on a bus, and goal written on, then distance rising. Though the show tricks most viewers, though it teaches the viewer to also play smart. Trickery and misleading is the biggest part of this show! That why I love it.
I'm just slightly annoyed Arisu didn't notice it when he was so observant in the first game. I don't hate him for it of course, he's still the reason he and Usagi cleared the game.
@@dearmalaysia I imagine his friends being dead made him a lot less motivated to be super observant like he was back in the first game where all there lives were in immediate danger.

@@dearmalaysia i think it’s because the 1st game was not originally in the manga. The writers overdid arisu’s observation skills perhaps, they missed how that wouldnt align with the 4th game
most of the characters are based off of characters from the Wonderland series, arisu/alice, usagi/white rabbit, hatter/ mad hatter and chisiya/cheshire etc etc

Usagi (Rabbit in Japanese) also represent one of Alice in Wonderland characters, which is the "White Rabbit"
This will be a common trend in the series, since they will meet future characters that represent Alice in Wonderland characters as well.
The scale of things in this show are so much bigger and I love it

The Panther scene in of itself is like a hidden answer to the game to the viewers. Kind of a lesson about being hidden in plain sight, the panther was always present in the darkness you just had to keep an eye out for it, the same way the goal was always right there.
The bottles of water is also foreshadowing the fact that they are running towards drowning. Nice little hidden detail there.
Also for the 7 of hearts, the "people behind the game" knew that the players will be a group of friends. The game was made purposely for them. Arisu and his friends were led to that venue and that specific game.
The hearts games aren't just abt betrayal but an overall psychological game.

Hear me out on this one. Ive got a couple theories.
Sheep collars explode by the end of the game, right? Wolf lives, right? Theres a table full of equipment of all kinds. Not just weapons like knives axes. There were screww drivers, pliers, and wire cutters. Bare with me. If the wolf collar is the only one that does not explode and this is a game that activates fight or flight against your allies--why not try coming together to help cut wires. Arisu was unable to cut his own out of fear because of his PTSD from the tag game. Lets say you have the sheep cut the wolf wire, pass on the wolf to another sheep--and keep going until all the collar wires are cut. By the end of the game, the collars are deactivated. Theres a flaw in the game as shibuki stated (she has worked with ai intelligence hence her job). Nobody dies. OR. MY alternative theory that ties into yours: Why not play the game right?
The game is hide and seek. The original rules of play ground hide and seek is if you find ONE hider, they become the seeker and the game starts over for everyone. The sheep are meant to hide so the wolf cant find them and end the game, ultimately, killing the sheep. What if Arisu never found Karube? Would they have still died? Or would it have the same result? It depends on if the game is going by the original playground rules.
Or maybe the game was for the sheep to choose who of their friends they want to live and hide from them so they can. Just theories tho. Author did confirm that there was a solution to the 7 of hearts game--just never identified what it was.

Yeah the people behind these games are pure evil. Misleading them and all geeez. Although the players should really consider what type of game it is based on cards. It's Clubs, it's a team battle not a physical one.
Arisu did figured it out when he went back. He saw the Goal written on the bus that's why he had that shocked face.
In the manga, this game shows more morals as, as you have noticed from the mechanics of this game, it's completely against those who try to leave others behind and was not actually played by our main cast. When the game started, someone who was "injured" was immediately neglected and left behind by the other contestants, and the only person who stayed behind with him and just took shelter from the bus till the injured person in question can supposedly go on, were the sole surviving ones in the end.

This episode is wild because I remember thinking why are the numbers going up and being confused but I neglected that initial thought. And of course, just like when you are using a gps or any type of tracker to a specific place, the numbers (distance) always decrease as you get closer to your destination, not increase. But it's totally fucked up mind games they played here because even knowing this, one would still think they have to go somewhere else.

Yo Roshi! You should probably know that the Distance game this episode was actually a side story in the graphic novel; where characters Arisu may or may not encounter have their own completed Games as there’s more players than just our Protagonist also beating games for visa. This was also one game that happened without Arisu or Usagi’s involvement but they changed it to include them instead so it may happen more often later on.

I'm pretty sure the reason they didn't realize sooner was because "Distance" is in English, but they're Japanese. Arisu recognized the "GOAL" on the bus when he got there, but I think "Distance" flew past his head originally.
