This video honestly made me realize something. I never noticed the irony that Mayor Wilkins was in support of burning the witches when he himself used far more powerful and dangerous magic, and killed more children than any of the other characters on this list
Absolutely love the Buffyverse, and I very much appreciate your deep dive into all these examples of witchcraft in media. Magic is one of my favorite supernatural tools, so seeing the ways it's used well and not so well is great. Also. Ever notice that Xander casually makes fire by speaking Latin? What happened to magic supposedly being hard to do for most people?
Tara will always be my favorite. I truly adore Willow(and Jenny), but Tara knew from experience that magic can be addicting and it's not a game; while Willow drove head on and became intoxicated by it(RIP Tara)
Now I want that Passions breakdown 😂 When I was 12, the first witches I met were a mother and daughter, and they were addicted to Passions. They got me hooked on it for about a year lol. Very corny, yet very entertaining show. Only Soap I've ever enjoyed. 😅
It's been so long since I watched (or even rewatched!) Buffy!! I'd forgotten about so many of these storylines. I was 24 when Buffy started, and I was obsessed! Another one I want to rewatch from the start. If only that 'work' thing didn't keep getting in the way. Weirdly, as a bi witch myself, you'd think I'd be obsessed with Willow like every other woman-loving-woman I've ever met, but I guess Buffy was just more exciting, and she had a bit more depth. I found her to be a bit meh, and I just wanted her to be GOOD! The Tara storyline annoyed me, because it was part of that 'tragic lesbian ending' that we always get. If I could rewrite the whole thing, they would have skipped off into the sunset waving their wands. Or decided to run their own magic shop in a little town where they could just be themselves.
Yeah, the ‘kill the gays’ trope gets a little tiring! Willow even breaks up with Kennedy in the comics and doesn’t really get a happy ending. Also in the comics, Buffy does a little experimenting with one of the other slayers, but it’s only that and doesn’t go any further so I don’t know why they even bothered putting it in! I liked Willow’s change from computer geek to realised self empowerment, however her relationships were a bit of a mess!
Hiya. I was a teenager in the 90's, I enjoyed this and some of your other review videos. I recommend the TV series Charmed 1998 - 2006. (I did watch the 1st episode of the reboot but that series is not for me). Thank you, from the UK.
Thanks for watching Kaz! You must have read my mind as I have just made my way through season 1 of Charmed! It's such an easy show to watch, I haven't seen it since it originally aired and I don't think I ever saw it from the beginning.
You forgot Anya. She wasn't known for being a witch but, early on, she tried and failed to get her powers back with Willow's help using witchcraft. (I only mention this because Anya is, by far, my favorite character in the Buffyverse.)
I fought with myself over this as she is also one of my favourites! Because of the accessibility of magic in the Buffyverse, I had to limit myself, so I chose humans only, and those who are specifically mentioned to be witches, warlocks or sorcerers or who cast spells more than twice, otherwise Buffy, Xander and Dawn would also be on this list. I loved watching her try and acclimate to being human again after so long, she’s hilarious.
@@witchwayofficial I have posted SO MANY comments to the Buffy Reaction Videos, usually to declare that Buffy, The Vampire Slayer is the best program ever put on television. You're the first to reply. I'm thrilled! Are you a witch? (Not coming on to you. I'm 76 next month.) Cheers.
@@jonswebilius6900 it is indeed an amazing tv show! No I am not a witch but they and their history have fascinated me for as long as I can remember. I wanted to find more witchy films to watch but everywhere just had the same top 10 so I wanted to find more and thought, “Heck! I’ll do it myself!”.
I still haven’t watched ‘The Witcher’ yet, I’ve heard it’s very good and I want to read the books and play the games as well as watching the series so I can go really in depth! Thanks for watching!
I think racks link is like mcu magic it draws from other dimensions and the seed of wonder is a source and conduits for magic like a heart. It connects earth to other magical universes. And produces energy for earth universe. Demons slayers and werewolves and most magical creatures have their own magic and dont draw from the seed of wonder. But witches do draw power from the seed and it allows them to connect to other universes dimensions . The seed makes it possible for portals to open on earth since its connected to all magic in the multiverse. It's like a wifi router.
Thanks for the feedback. I classified witches as humans who were either named as such (witch, warlock or sorcerer) or used spells more than twice in the show.
I had to narrow down the specifications of witch/warlock to humans in the show who were specifically called such or who practiced spells more than twice, otherwise this list would be a lot longer! The Shadowmen harnessed the power of a demon to create the first slayer but it’s not known how, so I didn’t want to label it witchcraft. Thanks for watching!

I never bothered with Buffy, but I loved Willow. I even thought Dark Willow was kind of cool.
My mom has a copy of The Magic Power of Witchcraft! It was my first witchy book!
How cool that you and your mum got to share that!
