- A subjects that leave very little mountain biker indefferent, #SRAM vs #Shimano for your #mtb drivetrain.
I use both system in my bikes so I decide to do a comparison between both and share my opinion about the drivetrain.
Which drivetrain do you use? What do you like and dislike about it?
Cheers everyone, - Sport
Great review, straight to the point but still covered the highs and lows.
Thank you for the feedback
I was riding SRAM on my 5010 and now, I use Shimano XT on my Bronson. I much prefer Shimano, smoother and breaks feel like butter!
Thanx for your input. Brakes are another subject... which I can't debate cause I use Magura :D hahaha
Je comprends pas cossé tu dis gros..!?😆😂
SRAM shiftings feels good, but much prefer the XT double shift down and option to use index.
Good job Seb!
Great review. Thanks!
Welcome. Which one are you choosing?
Thanks Seb. Very helpful info.
My pleasure
Thanks for sharing this video.. have a safe ride =)
it's my pleasure. Have an awesome season :D
thanks for this video. i was between gx or slx/xt. now i'm absolutely sure. i'm going with shimano :)
Awesome.
What made you choose?
For me the 2 biggest cogs.
Nice video Sir, Keep Up!
Thank you
Shimano XT shifter & cassete, XTR chain and Sram GX derailur. XT brakes with bleedkit's Gold Oil to fix wandering bite point. GX derailur for better clutch performance and longevity. Everything else XT for better smoother and faster shifting. XTR chain for better longevity same performance as XT.
Nice setup!
Would GX AXS shifter work on XT cassette? I want to keep everything XT and have wireless shifting of SRAM. Is it good idea?
Im die hard shimano.
currently using SLX
might plan to upgrade the shifter for XT
That’s a great upgrade!!!
I just ordered a new XT drivetrain for back and wear replacement
Im watching this because im on my way to purchase my groupset but being torn to buy gx just to experience the feel of it
So what did you end up doing? The GX 10-50T is better for cassette gaping feel and use.
@@sebmour i went for the SLX because of its value for the money.. I kinda like also the consistency of its mechanisms 😊😊😊
@@kikoy08 awesome. SLX is an awesome value and quality drivetrain
Why is the sond only in the left speaker lol
I am looking into this and it seems that Davinci resolve has an issue with sound. It sucks cause that means that all my videos have this issue which I had not notice cause the speakers are close on my desktop. Thank you for the heads up and will be corrected for future videos :D Cheers,
Using my right airpod only, it was weird only hearing quite music. Chuck both in and sweet to go
While I liked Shimano on my last bike but my current on my EMTB is sram. I'm just wondering which one would be better with all that power from an ebiike.
I tested an ebike with shimano and it worked flawlessly. I now run shimano xt on my main bike and the norco range I ordered is also shimano.
The range in the cassette is the deal breaker for me.
i run the deore m6100 groupset and im happy with it. my mates run gx with a mix of deore xt and soon they will go full xt.
Nice deore is really good!
I miss my hardtail's Deore groupset when I ride my specialized enduro's gx groupset... It is far more expensive, noisy and wears faster... I am 100% that my next bike will be full Shinano ... that my experience...
I am also checking how fast my shimano will wear out. Finding a 12 speed chain is a challenge but already over 1000km into the new shimano XT 12 speed groupset without any issue which wasn’t the case with Sram...
Yeah sram is more expensive and noisy. That I won’t miss for sure.
@@sebmour 100km? dude that’s 3 days of riding
@@internetuser9342 oupps 1000km missing a 0
I moved from Sram GX to XT 12 speed. I will never go back to Sram. The XT drivetrain shifts amazing.
Nice! I also love my shimano XT 12 speed drivetrain. Gapping on the cassette is perfect and shifting amazingly smooth.
Enjoy your rides.
sram for shift and shimano for brakes
I like shimano for shift also.
@@sebmour ofc shimano is good. i use shimano xtr and my dad use sram xx1 axs and sram is on another level. shift smoother, sounds better, looks better.
My bike is on GX right now and I’ll never ride Sram again. It’s a nightmare.
Why has it been a nightmare for you?
I will be swapping my XT on soon... when the shop gets time hahaha
@@sebmour I got one of the defective GX cassettes (they made a lot of these) where the bottom 5 gears all make clicking sounds when you pedal because the spacing between the cogs on the cassette is off. There’s no way to fix that except grinding material off of the gears. That and you constantly have to adjust and fiddle with it.
@@ShoneDaddy man that sucks big time. My GF has the same issue
@@sebmour she has a clicking cassette too? Sram should honestly recall them.
@@ShoneDaddy yes :(
Prefer shimani because they offer quality and pirce. Sram is just overpriced as fuck on their groupset and breaks etc.
Price is a great difference between both companies
@@sebmour yep stam has the quality but the price is just absurd. Look at their groupset of xx1 axs axs and high end breaks. You can by midrange bike with that price. Its to much money for me
@@Stockfish1511 especially for parts that wear
Have to go with SRAM for shifting precision provided it's tuned properly. On the video itself awesome shots and angles however the video overall is a bit bland.
Thanx for your feedback. Have an awesome season
Shimano: cheaper and better quality. That’s the definition of Japanese engineering!
True
Fix your damn audio. you’re only talking through our left speaker
Hi
Gently put thanx! It was fixed with time when I learned more about editing
SRAM doesn't work
Hahaha sometimes it does
AI created garbage.
