The M3 is a special car and definitely a better investment. However, the n54 335i provides a lot of bang for the buck IF you are mechanically inclined, have a healthy maintenance budget, and can perform the work yourself. If not, you will be in the poor house paying someone else to do it. I've owned my 2007 for 10 years and have meticulously maintained and modified it. It is currently 650 hp with FBO, RB2s, PI, full e85, LSD, drag radials, custom tune, etc. consistently runs 10.8s at 133.x, and does 60-130 in 6.7 sec. It is my weekend car and always puts a smile on my face. Can it out run an M3 in a straight line? Absolutely. Can it run with an M3 on a track? Maybe with tons of suspension work and cooling upgrades. IMO, the M3 is a better car , but I would never modify it. I feel that doing so will take away the character of the car and ultimately hurt the value. As mentioned, M3s are special cars, just as all M cars are special cars. While the n54 335i offers tons of tuning potential for a fairly affordable price, it will never be held in this regard.

Anyone interested in a e9x m3 I’d highly recommend it. I’ve had my e92 for 6 years. Rod bearing were a bit expensive, but that’s all I’ve had to do. 0 issues whatsoever at all, and I still love driving it. It just never ever gets old.

I had a manual e92 335i. And really liked it. It was FBO at 420whp and 600nm. Sold it after 3 years of ownership and bought an E39 M5, I love the V8 powerband and soundtrack. Also the M handling is another level. The 5 even costs less than my 335i in repairs.
An e92 M3 is still on my list of cars I like to have once in my life. Too bad the price skyrocketed here in Europe (Netherlands).

I had the N54 e92 xdrive+ automatic (stock) and have the e92 S65 DCT now. The N54 i had for almost 10 years and it was a fantastic car. The M3 though is a complete different car. It drives like a complete different car. The chassis, the balance, the steering, the loooks, the power. Everything is primed to give you the ultimate driving pleasure which the n54 just doesn't give you. The N54 though feels a little bit faster around 1500-3000 rpm. A great daily. But after that the n54 just gets outclassed. The brutal DCT will smack with every gear change a smile into your face. The power beyond 5500 will give you a thrilling combination of andrenaline and goosebumps you never had before. No discussion. I use the m3 though as a weekend car. I have the s65 now for less than a year and did the rodbearings, the fluid of the DCT and oiled the throttle actuators. While i can't give a long term opinion about relliability about the s65, I can for the n54. The N54 was very reliable. Just the electric waterpump was always very annoying breaking every 2-3 years.

Great quality video. I can tell you put some work into it. Well spoken, great visuals, and you used footage of some of the best examples of each model. Nicely done.
I own and built what i think is the best example of the e92. 2013 335is DCT, alpine white on coral red, with upgraded turbos, port injection, lsd, m3 control arms, coilovers, upgraded f30 brembos, Carplay inside, all DIY and now fully waranteed by FCP Euro 😂

Agreed, i'd rather have the M3. That S65 engine is the best special. When you straighten pipe them. I have a 340 currently. But you know if I ever have any engine problems? I'm thinking about doing a moto swap and put that one in in this car.

@@IzzyE9Xdont want to seem like my opinion is the only one which matters but ill try to explain why m3 is better. Lets not talk about m3 being M. M comes with better suspension , better brakes ,better wheels , limited slip differential. Basically everything u need to take it straight to the racetrack without being worried if ur suspension is good if ur diff will work as it must and more. N54 is very good platform i know and i also love it but m3 is everything u want to have personally i have driven n54s making more power than m3 but there is no need for more power for me. At the end of the day its up to you which one u buy. Both are great but i would go with m way.
