^ The thing with the blood in films like Shining is that it's WELL PLACED. It is smartly inserted in the right places in time with the plot and action. It doesn't stand alone for its own stupid sake like gratuitous blood in the awful horror (if they can even be called that) films of today. Today's horror directors rely on the same stupid predictable gimmicks that make horror films more comedic (because even the stupidest audience members know such films are more ridiculous than scary). During a horror movie, no one should be laughing in the the theater.
at first sight. i feel scary "come with play us" scene. second, this scene scared me. Hotel's anabolism power changes twins, from victim to their company. anyway, twins both scenes is scariest to me.
I like how Danny Lloyd wasn't told he was filming a Horror movie, and he was told that it was a 'drama' movie. And are we sure the Girls aren't interested in Danny?
⚠⚠⚠ 👻Someone commented : "We need a movie about Grady and the twins trying to stop him would make the original "The Shining" sequel MUCH more classic!" I agree 1000%!👻 ⚠⚠⚠ I think this idea would have been GREAT, better than King's sequel to The Shining movie Dr Sleep! Which I did not really like the sequel some stage sets were good. This concept with the Twins encounters with Grady should be put into into production! Wonder if it ever will? Hope so! A TRUE extension of the classic indeed! 👻👻👻👻👻👻
^ Do you know the story of The Shining? Have you read the book or watched the movie? The Overlook is an evil, cursed, murderous place. First of all, it was built upon desecrated land, a Native American burial site. That in and of itself lay malevolent energy upon the hotel. Secondly, the hotel since its opening till the day the Torrences moved in as winter caretakers, had a history of bad dealings, killings, etc. There was mob boss/gang violence, suicides, bad relationships, you name it. And then of course came the Grady incident in which the man was driven insane by the hotel's evil energy leading him to chop up his wife and two daughters with an axe and then shooting himself in the mouth. All of this is driven by the supernatural evil of the hotel, the hotel whose goal it is to repeat this never-ending prophecy of death. The hotel preys upon the weak-minded and vulnerable. And of course, the clairvoyant and psychically gifted as well. It was Danny's incredible and powerful shine that enabled the hotel to "light up" so to speak in the way that it did, making its horror perceivable. And of course, what the hotel wanted more than anything was for Danny to be murdered within its premises so that it could inherit his shine and unleash even more horrible evil upon whomsoever would be so misfortunate to wander into it.
@Helen Angel Mont Blanc - Hahaha right. I would love to encounter ghost girls 👻👻 like this in a haunted hotel. This would be so cool. Any ghost girls listening? I'm here. 👻👻👻👻👻👻👻
if i seen the twins id try talking to them learn their first names and that and what their story was i wouldnt be scared off them id feel sorry for them cute kids
Great. How much time the girls spent on the set, and all they have to do is stand there, turn around and go. And later lie in a bloody puddle and hold still. Must be so boring for a child.
This is awful quality, but if you watch a higher quality version of this movie, watch the little girl on the right. As she turns to look at her sister, she snickers just a bit and breaks character then goes right back. If you have a had set you can hear her.😂

Back to the times when you didn't have to see great amounts of blood in order to be scared :).
Love Danny's face like thinking "Something's wrong"
There's loads of blood in that film, though.

The elevator scene seems like a lot of blood, lol.
I love how the twins slowely turn their head and look at each other lol 😂

Leave it to Kubrick to make to rather ordinary looking girls seem creepy as hill.
I would have thrown darts at them. 😂
So terrifying and so creepy
Who cares about the frames! We're all here because we wanted to watch this scene. It's so creepy.
Oh hi Danny!
Need a movie about Grady and the twins trying to stop him would make the original shinning more classic
Prequel... it will be made one day... I am sure...
I was thinking the same thing!

what? who was making the claim about 24 seconds? why do the number of frames matter? why does any of this matter?

You only see the twins twice I think.

Kubrick has been counting a lot of frames..

The twins are precious I don’t get why their daddy wanted to kill them.
They wanted to burn down the overlook hotel
He didnt kill them. Grady corrected them. :-)
He didn't want them to die in a school shooting.
