Ah..wow...indeed best , simplest oil change video I have seen..and I used to build race engines...Smart of Kia to have access panels.. most times you must remove a bunch of plastic shields..Must remember to check washer on drain bolt for crush damage.
hello. i am korean guy. i am impressed with you because woman can't change engine oil in korea. i really never thinking woman do that. and i will attempt that because of you. thanks.
Great video. Have found having beer while doing oil and filter change makes the job much more meaningful. Very well thought out and informative video. Thanks....
I just bought my first ever Kia and always do my own oil changes so ended up here. Your video ROCKS! Having watched I'm certain to not forget the beer and a shot when I'm done. lol Nice job!
thank you for teaching me this,,, I have a new Kia sportage 2016 it's only 2 months old and here in my country (Trinidad) it's very expensive to service a vehicle like this so thanks to you I can do it myself,,,, but that rim job,,, yea......
I wouldn't worry about it- it's just an extra dust cap. Some probably fall off if a tab gets broken off. If you still want one you might have luck on eBay or a local pick & pull
Just checked my daughters 2012 Sportage, the oil level was below the minimum and black! WTF I said, when was the last time you serviced it?! Err, I had it MOT checked two months ago... So no service then. 🙄 Great informative vid, done plenty of Gin n DIY myself, and perfect for finding where the oil filter was hidden! Now I just need to find the tonic! 😂🍸🍷🥃🍺🍻
My wife just had £1500 bill to replace turbo and DPF. The oil filter looked like it was dipped in tar. I asked her when she last serviced it, she said she only gets it MOT'd......I said you must be joking. Appears not.
Thanks for the video! I do not see an oil filter flap underneath my 2011 Sportage. Do you know if every Sportage is suppose to have one, is there a place that I can buy one? The dealer was rather unhelpful and simply just told me that some do and some dont. I have a feeling that all originally have them and then some fall off.
killer thanx.. i just bought a '11 sportage, i'm used to having old classics, muscle cars, vw's, so this car is kinda strange to me. where's the power steering reservoir? how do you check the tranny fluid, i have an automatic? i guess i better see if i can find a workshop manual for this, the owners manual aint cutting it. thanx
Removing the oil fill cap beforehand would have let the oil drain faster. If you're into FRAM filters, spend a bit more and get the FRAM ultra guards. Extended guard has cardboard end caps on the filter medium. Ultra guard has metal end caps. Good video nonetheless.
ohh right they often replace the air filter as well for an extra charge. I would recommend learning how to do that yourself too. Thanks for the reminder- I am sure mine needs to be changed by now again too
Okay this was by far the best oil change video I've ever found 😂 great job!
Funny thing is i watch this every time i change my wifes kia sportage oil , i guess the soothing voice and drinking references get me going!

1st time youtubing anything related to my own car. And I loved every bit of it. 😋

So funny, and I’m amazed how a cat can do an oil change. Now I have to adopt one
Thanks for the detailed video. Yet, I need to know the size of the engine as it affect the oil capacity. Is it 2.0 L?
Best oil changer

Does the oil pan plug need a gasket, fiber gasket is the best to use? Thx!
Rim jibs are so underrated!
What Oil Filter wrench did you use?

Came to find the location of the drain plug, stayed for the driest riesling/humor on CZcams
Rim job?? love it 🤣
0:45 is the most important step XD
GOOD VID!! FAIR PLAY :)

Thx!

Niece video. P.S. you are a cool Chick.
what engine are we talking about here, the 2.4 or the 2.0 turbo?
killer thanx.. i just bought a '11 sportage, i'm used to having old classics, muscle cars, vw's, so this car is kinda strange to me.
where's the power steering reservoir? how do you check the tranny fluid, i have an automatic? i guess i better see if i can find a workshop manual for this, the owners manual aint cutting it. thanx
I have to ask about your green calibers? Why green? Are they replacements or did you paint them? What brand if replaced?
Thx very much for the video!
I painted them just for fun. I used high heat paint which is made for engines. It's been 5 years now and it's not flaking off :)
Drinking and DIYing Nice job!
thx:)
what about oil transmision?
Removing the oil fill cap beforehand would have let the oil drain faster. If you're into FRAM filters, spend a bit more and get the FRAM ultra guards. Extended guard has cardboard end caps on the filter medium. Ultra guard has metal end caps. Good video nonetheless.
Lmao you're awesome😂 we have the same car btw😃

I changed the oil filter yes

My sportage is leaking oil from botton :(
ohh right they often replace the air filter as well for an extra charge. I would recommend learning how to do that yourself too. Thanks for the reminder- I am sure mine needs to be changed by now again too

Five finger + rim job = you have my sub sister !
How do you like your Sportage? Do you still have it?
I got one and it’s very nice! Are you thinking about getting one?

Must be from Saskatchewan with that O16 lol
Always make sure that the O ring gasket came with the old oil filter.....if it stick to the engine......Big problem !
I was probably lubed up myself XD
Kia filters have Check Valves, I don't think Fram have them

Nice vid but wear cloves that old oil contains some nasty shit and it keeps the general krud from getting under your finger nails. Lovely cat
I'm going to change the oil on my girlfriend's car. This looks really messy.
A woman changing her oil? now I've seen it all
DO NOT USE FARM FILTERS IT IS A CRAP
